    Lucerne 2006

saw a glacier blue one today in fenton, mi. 30 something female driver and only 3 portholes. got a lucerne book from buick today and it showed the optional wood wheel and shifter. it had the same lousy trunk shot of the spoiler.
  2. one more quarter like this and the bond rating will probably go up. if gas drops by seventy five cents per gallon, by september, like cbs radio reported today, then watch the profitable trucks roll off the line. this is all great news. keep the quality up, get some good press and good interviews about the FFV's and look out. we need a win here, folks.
  3. so this is a coupe? a ragtop?
  4. chapter 11 does allow the debtor relief from paying any "pre filing" bills. this could hurt a supplier. under a plan of reorganization, the court could approve the paying off of creditors, usually for pennies on the dollar (k mart, most of the airlines, etc.). is gm going to file? highly doubt it. is the supplier being stupid? yup. they are probably loyal toyota folks that wouldn't mind giving the general a little bad press. cut 'em loose.
  5. i am curious where the 8.8 second figure comes from. its a heavy car but the numbert i saw was under 8.
  6. the montego isn't a merc. since when?
  7. well, the lucerne is heavier than the merc. so the 3.5 v 6 would probably perform better in montegos AWD configuration. i just wish they'd fix the exterior! ugly. you couldn't put the azera in this anyway because it is not a big car, it's just the biggest korean car available here in the states. here is a couple of Q's. what would the lucerne do in sales and performance if it was E85 and how is DCX going to top the 300 when its time for a re-skin?
  8. i also thought the execution of the tuxedo/shale interior scheme missed the mark. just give us a dark blue interior option, will ya?
  9. wasn't lutz big on getting things to market, quick, at chrysler?
  10. budget truck? truck that is too small for most? maybe the new 5 is more refined/less noisey.
  11. i was "suggesting" that they put a full shot of the car on the site. the answer to my question as to why the photo wasn't on the site was not in her area of expertise. she said that she would pass it on to "?(cannot remember the name)". maybe the dealer has a photo or, better yet, a car with the much anticipated spoiler. its probably the same one from the bonne, twisted around to fit the buick. there is a little problem with the visual cue on the back side of the car that a spoiler just may fix. anyway, she was there to answer basic questions on gm vehicles including where the local dealer is located so i can go in and part with some money.
  12. HERE HERE! its all about the cars.
  13. i e mailed buick and told them if they expected to sell any of these they should include a full body shot of the car, with the spoiler installed, on their site. instead of just a picture of a spoiler, leaving us to imagine how it would look. a buick rep called me today to apologize and said that they didn't have an answer to my question. she asked if i had any other questions that needed answering. how surreal.
  14. remember the spoiler that ford added to the last generation taurus and sable? it really helped the lines and the visual appeal. this may help the tail end of the lucerne. there is something missing back there and i'd like to see what the car would look like with it on. my minds eye is a little fuzzy this morning. the factory spoiler option really helped the looks of my '03 bonne. it helps the looks of the new charger. lucerne with wood, surround, nav, larger chrome wheels and now, a spoiler.
  15. and this is good news. serious reduction of the burn rate. factor out the one time charges and there is an operating profit. compare this to fords bad news. wow. the other folks are right, a few more winners and sustained sales of the new releases and they'll be turning a billion soon. the only temptation to avoid will be the strong desire to get too large again (adding unnecessary fixed expenses). its always easier to get bloated than to trim down.

  17. i dunno about that, yellow. but your avitar! i wish they'd sell him and her as standup figures.
  18. beer? did someone mention beer? preferably of the dark german variety. now help me out here. what is a lesbian trapped in a mans body mean?
  19. coach (in florida) is doing them. i'd still buy the eldo vert. (2000+) sharp. between coach and newport (they do the CTS) you get some neat looking cars. i'd buy a 2 door 300 vert anytime.
  20. i dunno. we thought (wife and i) that the spot was a pretty comical. i am greek/italian. if i got pissed everytime someone of my nationality was made fun of................... the guy was so "out there" that i cannot understand any gays being offended. c'mon, i know a few G&L's and non of them dress like that.
  21. all of the above, AWD and surround sound.
  22. well, seeing that when this was written there was one full selling week left in the month, i'll wait to see where the dust settles. this america bashing has to stop, and quick.
  23. i see your point josh. but when you have guys in skilled that have 40 and 50 years in and they won't leave or they think there is a better deal coming what do you do then. young guys with families getting kicked to the curb because old greedy guys won't go. holding out for something better. low productivity folks that should take the $$ and enjoy their golden years. but no, why? because their financial houses are not in order. they don't believe it but this IS the last and final offer. they think if they hold out, more $$ will be coming. the only lady left in this game is the one with the $2.00 brief case. this is the best deal they will see. uncle sam will take their % from the gross amount minus the UAW fee. probably 8 or 9 thousand. others are right as well. delphi guys should jump on this.
