  1. Great soundtrack...another movie with Tangerine Dream was Michael Mann's 'Thief' with James Caan...(there was a nice '79 Eldo in it also).
  2. He means the exposed trunk keyhole looks cheap...many cars and SUVs today don't have one...i.e. you open the trunk with the remote.
  3. I saw a purple 2dr PT sedan delivery yesterday... (custom job).
  4. Maybe to make the Super truly super it have an exclusive front end, at least for 1 model year...
  5. Put a Grand National Turbo V6... that would be an interesting sleeper...
  6. Yeah, but in Denver burbs to the south and east (Highlands Ranch, Greenwood Village, Parker,Centennial, Lone Tree, newer parts of Aurora) that grayish tan color is very common... though here the garage is usually always prominently in the front of the house (except in the 'New Urbanism' developments like Lowry and Stapelton where they put the garages behind the house with alleys). I've looked at a couple houses in Highlands Ranch recently that had 4 car garages..pretty nice, with 2 bays 90 degrees to the others...
  7. True...I work with a couple of BMW owners that bought them for the brand image---they are in management now and felt they needed the image that their previous rides (Honda Element, Nissan Pathfinder) didn't have. I on the other hand, drive a BMW because I'm a car enthusiast..same reason I'll probably buy another one eventually..
  8. Yes, but it's a small minority of fogeys that want that crap on their cars...not the majority of buyers.
  9. Check out the heavy duty Ram 4000 with stake bed... (does Dodge offer a heavy duty model like this in the US?)
  10. What's funny is that they didn't even attempt to Dodge-ify the Atos and Attitude....they could have at least tooled up a Dodge style grille with the crosshairs and a Ram emblem.... this must have really been done on the cheap..
  11. At least with the G5 they take off the Chevy bowtie badge and stick on a Pontiac badge..
  12. Why not AWD Chevys? Ford offers AWD in the Five Hundred... not sure if Dodge offers it on the Charger or Magnum, but if GM they have the hardware for the new platform, might as well offer it in a Chevy as well... AWD would broaden the appeal and maybe help keep FWD fans from straying...
  13. Looking at those dimensions, it's hard to imagine at one time these were the downsized, small-big cars from GM. I remember an aunt and uncle had a '73 Centurion that they traded for an '80 Electra, how much smaller it seemed at the time (and I was only 10, but the '73 definitely was a lot bigger). They later traded the '80 on an '86, which was even smaller..
  14. Saddle River, NJ according to the ebaY auction. With the blue sky and winter yard, it could have been the Denver suburbs as well (very similar houses around here).
  15. I'm getting 'Big 80s' flashbacks to high school looking at these interior pics.. I rode around in and drove occasionally a lot of cars like that back in the day (high school from '84-88)...one friend had an '84 Parisienne, my g/f drove her dad's '85 Caprice wagon, another friend had an '81 Olds 88 diesel, another had a '81 Fleetwood Brougham diesel, another had a '76 Electra 225 coupe, another an '80 Riviera...good stuff..
  16. Agreed..it has COLOR .,texture, lots of faux wood..a much more pleasant place to spend time than the depressing shades-of-gray interiors far too many cars (not only GM) have today...
  17. It was probably an elderly driver that drove it very little and recently passed away...anytime I see a car like this on ebay, I assume that is the most likely scenario..
  18. Sweet...always nice to see an '80s B- or C- in pristine condition...I've always liked that style Buick, esp. the grille and taillight treatment. I remember riding in one similar to that (not a diesel) when they were new (an aunt and uncle had one).
  19. The Cobalt seems like it would have been fine in 1995 or 2000. Typical GM, though, they always seem to be a generation or two behind the competition (at least in the mass market cars).
  20. Too many years of getting stuck with crappy Cavaliers with cheap gray interiors from Avis? (i.e. rental cars on a reporter's budget)..
  21. Looks odd..the C-pillar treatment looks like the CLK..not as nice as the current CL (where the rear glass wraps and the pillar is narrower at the base than further up).
  22. I'm seeing a lot of the new GSes around here... I really like the design..though I think I'd go for a regular 430 instead of the 450h.
  23. Two-tones can definitely make a so-so interior look better, IMHO...anything but all light gray (nothing looks cheaper in a GM, IMHO). I had a white one last year for a few days as a rental, definitely liked some features like the steering wheel and faux aluminum trim..
  24. Ok..still the same old, same old... Sad.
  25. Is the V6 offered with a manual? They should offer it with a 6-speed manual and at least a 5-spd auto..
