  1. I'm not a fan of badge engineering, but it works in Canada and Mexico, so why not here, is probably what they are thinking.

I would think the Tundra would get some Tacoma sales also..toyota small trucks have had a loyal following for a long time..I could see some Tacoma owners and intenders stepping up to the Tundra..
  6. Yeah, driving over curbs at 40mph and off loading docks is hard on the front suspension and drivetrain..
  7. It definitely looks like a really big truck.. I wonder if GM is going to respond to the Ram Mega Cab with a Mega Crew Cab..take the Crew Cab, stretch it and add the extended cab's rear-opening doors with a 3rd row of seats..
  8. I once had an experience where the waiter quit her job while I was at one of her tables...ended up getting 50% off the meal (she dissapeared during dinner and I had to go find the manager to get water refills, etc). Another time after a 2hr wait at lunch (without the food ever coming out), we got up and left...
  9. I wouldn't say there are any companies or brands I don't like per se, just ones that don't really interest me.. Toyota--nothing current interests me, but I do like the last Supra Turbos. Lexus- GS430, though the IS350 is pretty nice also. Volkswagen- new GTI, new Passat, Phaeton Lincoln- current Navigator Mercury- Milan Pontiac- GTO Saturn- Sky Buick- Lucerne Nissan- 350Z Subaru- Legacy Spec-B I couldn't come up with anything from Hyundai, Suzuki, or Kia that I would be interested in.

  11. I've driven a car ('67 Cougar) with a 3-spd manual floor shift (no console), manual steering (giant '60s steering wheel), manual drum brakes, bucket seats w/o headrests, lap belts only, no A/C, and an AM radio, 1 outside mirror.. It was a very strange but fun experience--so far removed from my everyday reality.

  14. I know people that are enthusiastic about their 12 yr old, 175k mile Corollas because they have been so cheap to own and so reliable. Different strokes for different folks...
  15. I prefer the shifter on the console. Never driven a car with a manual on the column, sounds very strange to me.
  16. A Prius? Or a bicycle?
  17. Yeah, but would it fit in an Epsilon?

  19. I assume a G4 version of the Cobalt is inevitable for the US....they could probably badge-engineer the HHR into the G5 or Vibe.
  20. I've subscribed to Car & Driver and Road & Track for over 25 years and Automobile for about 20...they aren't as good as they used to be...not as many new stuff surprises since everything seems to be on the 'net before the print mags. I still enjoy paper mags, though--for reading on the sofa on a lazy Sunday afternoon, reading in the bathroom, in bed (I'm not going to lug the laptop around to read them online). I also frequently pick up Car, Top Gear, and Evo..I enjoy the Brit mags...for specific old-car and buff magazines, I subscribe to Collectible Automobile, Hemmings Muscle Machines, and Bimmer. I pick up Mopar Muscle, Mustang Monthly, Classic and Sports Car, and others occasionally.-
  21. A five year run makes sense..the original only had a five year run.

  23. Yeah...I'm surprised it isn't here yet...
  24. Check out the April issue of Collectible Automobile..they have a good article on the '59-63 Invictas.
