Crazy weather today... 37F and snow flurries...more like March than May...
-
Beautiful weather this afternoon, took a drive for about 40 min out through the national park on some winding roads in the Caddy. Saw a white C8 rumbling along, and a dark blue C7 convertible top down.. feels good to get out of the house even if going nowhere in particular...

I agree that it is is pretty pointless, but at least its just a Ford pickup, nothing special... Ford builds hundreds of thousands of these appliances every year.

The guy is a You Tuber...probably takes in enough ad revenue to cover the cost..it's a business expense, not like a normal person buying a vehicle to use..it's a prop for his videos.
-
Not like it's anything special or rare, though...just a common truck with shitty mods. Run a tank over it..

Always liked the XLR..haven't seen one in forever....still remember following a gorgeous black XLR-V on the PCH in Laguna Beach, CA maybe 5-6 years ago.

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Ya, just renewed my Jeep reg yesterday...said ‘2014 Jeep WGN’. Which makes sense, wagon is the body style, SUV is the vehicle type. -
Cinco de Mayo on Taco Tuesday. Tacos ordered, going to make Margaritas now...

Maybe if they restyle the Bolt to be more squared off w/ a Silverado-like nose it will do better. Or Camaro-like styling. -
Yeah, this little Sony boombox has a CD player and cassette deck...got it new only a couple years ago, keep it outside during patio season when I want to play CDs (sounds better than streaming from my phone)...a bit old school, but I have hundreds of CDs...

I have a few of those cords with the asymmetric plug, have them with portable CD boomboxes (I have one of those for my patio), TVs, etc..

They dropped the Volt, but the Bolt is still on sale. -
And NE Ohio..he was from Grand River. Neat little town on Lake Erie, there are a couple seafood restaurants I like there...

Watched a couple decent Icelandic crime dramas over the last few days-the 2nd season of "Trapped", not as good as the first season, and the 1st season of 'The Cliff'. Also watched the Acorn/BBC Scottish crime drama 'Deadwater Fell' with David Tennant, sort of in the flavor of 'Broadchurch' but not as good. Continuing to sporadically watch 'The Crown', an episode here and there. Last weekend binge watched the new 6th season of Amazon's 'Bosch'--still a great LA cop drama from writer Michael Connelly.

Beautiful place...took a tour 25 years ago, was up in Boston visiting my sister for her birthday, and we drove down to Newport for the day. I recall Newport being quite nice...had dinner at a great seafood restaurant called the Mooring, which is still there. Notice in the first pic the big Antonov AN225 w/ the three engines per side..one of those sat for quite a while at Denver International about 15 years ago.

The Buick probably didn't have snow tires..at first I thought the car on the far left was an Eldorado, but I think it's a '73 Grand Prix--can see the taillights under the snow. The car in front of it in the center of the pic looks like a '73 LeMans ..might be a '64-65 Cutlass 2dr in front of it (dark car)...then a Beetle further to the right, This looks like I-90/2 heading downtown from the east, along by the lakefront airport.. My Dad got through E. Ohio/Pittsburgh winters in the 70s in big Mercurys and Lincolns by putting snow tires on all 4 wheels and weighing down the trunk w/ a couple bags of Quickcrete mix.
-
I went looking for vintage Ohio winter pics, found these, some GMs incl. a big Buick in there..the 1950 pic has a Hudson. Looks like a mid 70s Grand Prix and a '73-ish LeMans in the bottom pic (Blizzard of 78 in Cleveland).

Heh-heh..the cars are just sitting, not going anywhere..maybe getting driven 2-3 miles a week. They are fine. A glass or two of wine w/ dinner, and an afternoon margarita or Bloody Mary while sitting out on the patio or by the fire pit in the evening makes staying home all the time much more pleasant...

Sweet...my wine rack only holds about 25 bottles. Thinking I may need a wine fridge.

Went to the vet and dog groomer yesterday, wore a mask and gloves. My glasses kept fogging up....have a variety of mask types to try. (took off the mask in the car, though). (hoodies and sweats are my work from home colder weather uniform, need to invest in some track suits).

As a tech worker WFH for almost 3 years, I'm not really interested to going back to commuting to an cube in an office, though I may at some point in my career. I do miss some aspects of office life, like going out to lunch w/ my team or happy hours... -
It was a 5dr w/ a 5spd manual. AM radio, A/C, vinyl seats (that photo was of one w/ cloth). Very basic. 52hp. But at 55mph it was consistently getting over 50 mpg. My Dad bought it to use as a dinghy, to tow on the back of the family RV, a 33ft Winnebago Chieftain...I ended up driving it a lot in high school and college. For a tiny diesel hatchback it had great steering feel IIRC...
