  1. Heh heh....my '84 Escort diesel interior looked like this, same color.
  2. I like those Lelands...will have to look into them. I have a messy neighbor on one side that has their house for sale, and the other side is the house that was empty for years and is now sale pending. Thanks..hope it goes well for Bella. Henry (13) and Ginny (12) are missing their big brother Zo...
  3. When I went to the vet Monday saw the red mid 70s Lamborghini Jarama out in it's driveway (seen this car a 1/2 dozen times in the last few years, in traffic and in a driveway..pretty rare/obscure car to see in Parma, Ohio). Also saw a very clean beige '68-69 Ford F100 shortbed pickup.
  4. Sounds great. I’m considering blue spruce or thurja green giant evergreens. Have a number of arborvitae and evergreens now.
  5. It’s been hard. He was 14, had him 8 years. Lost 1 senior Yorkie last July, have 2 others that are 12 and 13. As for the back yard, thinking about a semi circle of pavers extending out from the walk, with a fire pit in the center and a grille inset on one side. Short term is planting more trees along the fence line...
  6. Zo didn't make it..he woke me at 3 am w/ shortness of breath and pacing, then keeled over w/ what I believe was a heart attack..didn't have a chance to get dressed and try and get him to the 24 hr emergency vet. RIP, Zoie age 14. It's rough as they all age, have two more Yorkies age 12 and 13 (in seemingly good health).
  7. Had a rough day. Had to rush my fur kid Zo to the vet this afternoon, was acting like he was having a seizure or heart attack. Doing ok now. Vet wasn’t sure what happened. He’s on meds g day or liver and enlarged heart issues the last 8 months.
  8. Enjoying the evening out by the fire pit. Modest, but I have plans to extend the patio. Had a couple bloody Mary’s and a glass of Pinot noir. Not feeling the pain tonite...
  9. <opinions> For the 80s, I'd take a BMW 6 series or Mercedes SEC for a big PLC.....the Skylark was just an X-body FWD shitbox; the Riviera was a decent coupe, but not as nice as the big RWD German coupes. </opinions>
  10. Maybe..but the Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes S-class coupe, BMW 8-series are modern PLCs, esp. the first two.... Cadillac could use a flagship luxury GT coupe ala the Elmiraj...and a convertible version.
  11. Random observation. 58 and overcast out. Lots of spying flowers and some tree blossoms, but still no leaves on the oaks. Still look barren and wintry.
  12. They have done a very good job of that IMO...would like to see some new sedans or coupes from them, but alas, I don't see that happening.
  13. The 3 series wasn't luxury in 1980..the 6 series and 7 series were the luxury BMWs....the 3 series was a compact sports sedan, the 5 was a midsize sports sedan... nothing really like them from the domestics in 1980.. Cadillac and Lincoln were in the large traditional floaty luxury sedan niche.
  14. Googling turns up this picture attributed to 1964. 1964 was the big one up there. Found some more car-related pics from it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1964_Alaska_earthquake
  15. I was thinking it was the Alaska earthquake or one in Seattle from the early 60s..i've seen B&W photos of both and they included Chevys in the pics..this was the first I'd seen in color...interesting... I've seen pics from the Alaskan quake, but they were always grainy B&W...this is the first I'd seen in color.
  16. Yeah, Rabbit was an NA thing...just like the Passat was called Dasher then Quantum in NA. I remember also inexplicably in the US they went from Golf back to Rabbit (then back to Golf) for a few years about a decade ago.
  17. They also had the V8-6-4 fiasco in '81.
  18. hummock
  19. If I were spending time on my family farm, I'd love to have one of these to drive around and an old John Deere tractor. Old Ford stake bed and Ohio farms just seem to go together.
  20. They have the T-Cross, T-Roc and SWB Tiguan in Europe. I read a while back they were looking at selling the T-Roc in the US but couldn't get the price low enough for the US market.
  21. When they do something nasty like eat poo, then they are dogs. But most of the time they are cuddly, lovable furkids...:)
  22. Yeah, the Polo has been the model below the Golf for 45 years, just not in the US. Think Sonic and Cruze. At one time, the US did get a smaller model--the Fox, but that was a rebadge of the Brazilian Gol. The VW lineup order is fairly clear for the US and various European countries, but gets very confusing if one looks at the lines in Mexico, Brazil, China or others...in China there are maybe 1/2 dozen different Golf-sized models each w/ different names and styling.
  23. The Durango is basically a 3 row version of the WK2 Grand Cherokee w/ slightly different interior trim and different exterior..same good platform and engines.
  24. It's fun to watch them come up to my patio and eat out of the bird feeders...but I don't like when they dig up the yard looking for grubs, or leave their poo pellets that a couple of my dogs love to hoover up...
  25. Every day... esp. in the evening and at night..my motion-sensing cameras catch them meandering through front yard, across the driveway, down the side, in the backyard. Caught this pic of a bunch of them in the yard recently..
