  1. That's one of the features that once you think about it, you wonder why it isn't on full sizers all ready... I do wonder what the 'all-new gasoline engine with direct injection' will be..
  2. They did a better job w/ the 4500 HD front end. It looks like a regular Chevy truck front, scaled up without the new weirdness..
  3. Maybe we will see an EV CUV or Hybrid CUV at Detroit or NYIAS in 19. Maybe something from Chevy and something from Cadillac?
  4. I imagine there will be an even uglier work truck trim in white w/ the front all black... With that full width spar w/ tabs on top of it, maybe they were inspired by the late 50s Chevy Viking truck grilles.
  5. I wonder if GM hired some former Ford designers? It reminds me of the garbage front ends they had on the E-series vans over the last decade or so...putting the headlight clusters vertically below the parking lights is never a good look.
  6. Or random pedestrians. Maybe need blades or a fin on the front like old locomotives to clear the path.
  7. So if the new Silverado isn't ugly enough, they are trying to one-up themselves with the new Heavy Duty version...one ugly ass mofo.
  8. Saw a new '19 GMC Sierra Denali for the first time today. Was backed into a parking space, next to a previous generation Sierra Denali. The new one looks taller and bigger...the giant chromey grille looks gianter and chromeier. Everything about it shouts 'moar' 'moar' moar'!
  9. Oddly Maserati numbers aren't listed.
  10. With their AWD wagon and CUV lineup, they really fit the market today well...
  11. Which is a rarity in any CUV or SUV nowadays...it's cool to see the new Gladiator is available w/ a V6/manual combo. Would like to see more sticks available.
  12. low volume=exclusivity for a luxury car. That's a good thing.
  13. The mention of a movie brought to mind some holiday movies I've watched in the last couple weeks. A couple Christmas movies (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation--my all time favorite Christmas movie), 'Daddy's Home 2' (some funny scenes), and a Thanksgiving movie--'Planes, Trains and Automobiles'--another favorite.
  14. FLIR, or other imaging radar? Something infrared or other?
  15. Which is a vehicle Chevy should have had 5 years ago...
  16. I really liked the signage at my neighborhood Chevy store in Phoenix. 1962 photo and recent years.
  17. Moot point since they don't build the S-class in the US. They build SUVs in Alabama, though. (Which when they started production there over 20 years ago I thought would never be successful, but it has been).
  18. Yeah, remember that's a FWD/AWD transverse engine platform...I think GM's days of doing FWD V8 cars is in the past...
  19. I know a guy in Denver that is a multi-millionaire that drives a '94 Corolla he bought new, has a lot of miles on it. Also has a '98 Tacoma for winter use. He's not really a car fan, but tight w/ money.
  20. Speaking of appliances, I really like my new GE washer and dryer. Was an early Xmas present a couple weeks ago.
  21. Yes, like the Prius. Just practical, functional, reliable transportation for the 98% of the driving population..
  22. That perplexed me also...maybe he was only 5' 7" then and had a growth spurt after? Or replaced the driver's seat with a thin foam pad flat on the floor? Or had a sunroof and drove with his head through it?
  23. The front design is growing on me, not sure about the vertical lighting elements. I do like how restrained and clean it is overall, compared to the overwrought front ends with giant grilles that are typically seen on large trucks and SUVs.
  24. Yeah, with GM pretty much any small car they have had since the 70s has been unrelentingly mediocre...the Vega, the '80s-90s J-cars, etc.. the Cruze may have been decent, but it didn't seem to catch on in the market.
