  1. The Chinese Taurus looks like a Fusion with a more upright rear window..

  3. Especially in 1962. People rarely wore seatbelts then... different world.
  4. After 20 years of living in dry inland states (Colorado and Arizona), living now less than 20 miles from a coast has piqued my interest in coastal towns, beaches and interesting structures along the coasts of the Great Lakes. A few pics I've taken in the last few of months along Lake Erie.
  5. The Camry, Corolla, Civic and Accord have strong, loyal customer bases with many repeat customers. I don't think they are going away. But some of the models with weaker sales numbers may.
  6. And of course I'm standing there w my phone in my pocket...I'm so lazy..I look at the video on my phone from the Ring doorbell before going to the door.
  7. Speaking of package delivery, Monday afternoon I went to the door to pick up packages, and there was a Fed Ex truck, UPS truck, and an Amazon van all in row parked in front of my house, with a postal truck across the street. Should have taken a photo.
  8. A Transit ST could be cool...lowered, with large wheels/tires, more power. Get those Amazon packages to the door quicker...
  9. The body work looks neat on that Pontiac..rear opening door behind the front door. Would be neat to convert the bed area (former flower car?) into a long trunk...
  10. Sure seems to be the way things are going...wonder if the CUV craze will run it's course eventually, and people will go back to cars....
  11. As far as the 'green' image of the Ecoboost or EcoSport names, that's really nothing new...in the past Ford and others had names for vehicles and engines that evoked an image of economy and efficiency---Econoline, Thriftmaster, Scotsman, etc...nothing different.
  12. I remember Chinook...still a bunch of the later ones running around in AZ... the Hot Wheels reminds me of a sleeker version of this Chinook.
  13. I would assume the Ranger will debut at Chicago? And maybe the Bronco? or too soon for either/both?
  14. Nah, the Hot Wheels is from 1980 and the rear body is integral w/ the cab...has a neat little sofa and table inside..seems like something that might have been a SEMA-type show custom...
  15. I've seen a few of those...even saw one in the Phoenix area still going about 5 years ago. Speaking of custom Toyota trucks, I always wondered if this Hot Wheels Toyota from 1980 or so is from Mattel's imagination or if something real was built like this, maybe a one off custom...
  16. I remember that...not sure if Toyota built those or it was some aftermarket vendor..
  17. It kind of does fit the description... integrated body and cab, 4 drs...
  18. As was brought up in Chris J's post, GM is now calling their extended cabs double cabs. Which is odd, since Double Cab was always synonymous with Crew Cab in my understanding. Problem is everyone uses a different term for an extended cab---Super Cab, Quad Cab, etc.
  19. Wow..that's f*ked up... and Ram calls theirs a Quad Cab....and doesn't Ford call their extended cab a Super Cab and the crew cab a Super Crew? Need standardized terminology for the body styles. The Terrorplane looks like an Australian Ute..which were called Coupe Pickups also, I think..car body with a bed, kind of the precursor to El Caminos and Rancheros.
  20. Interesting...wonder what the story is with that.. a Ford F1 extended cab??
  21. Crew Cab is a Double Cab. Maybe you are thinking Extended Cab? (double cab is more of an EU/Asia market term, meaning what we call a Crew Cab). Since GM and Ram have normal doors on their extended cabs, I'm not sure the point of having an extended cab anymore, since the only difference between it and a crew cab is the length, rear doors, and rear leg room. Why not just offer a regular cab and a crew cab and cut out the middle version? Not sure of the value of the middle version. 4dr trucks--whether Extended Cab or Crew Cab, far outsell regular cabs. BTW, remember when Ford's regular cabs even had little rear opening extended cab style doors?
  22. oooh..maybe a sleek roofline coupe pickup is the next un-exploited niche. Frameless door glass, lower roof, sleek c-pillars coming back like flying buttresses over the bed sides...
