  1. The funny thing is, I've driven a couple late model Mustang and Camaro (5th gen) convertible rentals, and had to have the seat up (vertically) to comfortably see out....I'm not short (6'0") but felt like I was down in a well driving w/ the top up or down and the seat down low...
  2. Hmmm..would be interesting to see a custom 'tall person' Corvette built using the stock Corvette front clip, a Silverado regular cab, and the Corvette rear...;)
  3. With the Corvette, wear a motorcycle helmet when driving..;) For the Camaro, I assume it has a back up camera...replacing the tiny stock mirrors with Tahoe mirrors would help. And installing a periscope.
  4. My sister's old Mercedes 500SEL and 300CE I often drove in Arizona had Michelins, but it was always sunny, dusty and boring out so their was never winter weather to deal with... The Jeep's original Goodyear Forteras had 32k on them when I replaced them and they were pretty worn down...
  5. That's from 50+ years ago, though...don't think anyone cared about that then..pedestrians were there to be mowed down and maimed then.
  6. That's real luxury exclusivity, though, rather than the high volume luxury of the Merc S-Class.
  7. Wondered about that, the article called them all-season. I like Michelins..the Defenders on my Jeep have been good this winter (albeit I haven't had to go out in the snow much). Interesting how that Dodge concept could have been be badged as anything--it really has no resemblance to any production Dodge of the era...
  8. Trucks outsell SUVs and CUVs..nothing new. Different market niches..
  9. Michelin Alpin all-season tires according to the article...the pic is attributed to the Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles..taken in his driveway in December...
  10. I would think power seats would be standard on a Buick...manual seats are like a Malibu rental spec feature...just something that screams cheapassery..
  11. What a beast..
  12. I see plenty of Muranos and Rogues around here, as I did in Phoenix..the other models, not so much...
  13. I've sat in the new Continental, i fit fine..(I'm 6'0"). The driver's seat is quite adjustable.
  14. Yeah, the numbers are pretty interesting..surprising to see some CUVs down or flat in a CUV/SUV market...
  15. Yeah, since it is under the Chevy category it's obviously a Chevy. Back when there were was the GMC version it probably would have read Suburban (GMC) under the GMC category. I guess whoever puts these reports together hasn't updated parts of the spreadsheet in a long time...
  16. Interesting that the chart says 'Suburban (Chevy)'...I guess that is a remnant from back when GMC's was called Suburban also...which was a quite a while ago...
  17. Yeah, I recognized Canal Fulton, been through there, around 40 miles from here.
  18. ^hmm...burnt '56 Chevy in Ohio, looks like..
  19. I like the looks of it, haven't seen one in person yet. I prefer hatchbacks to trunks anyway..
  20. I know Toyota and Lexus dealers in particular have really hyped up the personal service, attention and amenities...I remember one superstore in the Phoenix area advertising that they had free wifi, onsite hair salon, nail salon, Starbucks etc for waiting customers. My Jeep dealer had a cafe..(was the largest Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM dealer in AZ).
  21. They kind of gave it a CUV-like ride height.. looks good...preview of the next V40 styling, I assume.
  22. I assume the fewer dealer numbers is because Genesis is setting up separate stores, rather than being glommed onto existing Hyundai stores...makes sense there would be more Hyundai stores....
  23. Well, Key West is the Monroe County seat. The other Keys are too small to support a new car dealer and some are closer to Key West than Miami. I lived in Marathon in the Middle Keys. Fascinating place. A series of little islands connected by bridges.
  24. I think they are going for a slow growth model; Lexus had only 2 models the first several years of it's existence. They aren't trying to be a high volume luxury brand like M-B or BMW at this point...
  25. It doesn't compete w/ the Camaro and Mustang, different niche.
