  1. Maybe they will use the twin turbo V6 from the 2017 GT. 600+hp is not bad.
  2. I assume there will also be a higher power Shelby as well, since they named the current car the GT-350, that leaves room for a GT-500..
  3. I wonder if they will do a Z/28 version of the new generation...
  4. The shape of the taillights (not the detail) remind me of the '61 Special. Some pics show them with multiple vertical bars, and some with one. And the Skylark had a totally different taillight shape and trim. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gmphotostore.com/images/53217813_pr.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gmphotostore.com/1961-Buick-Special-4-Door-Sedan/productinfo/53217813/&h=310&w=388&tbnid=jlyxFNG3ZQ2K8M:&docid=MhwIVr3eHWKb9M&ei=E4XCVou1Hs6sjwPTtabYDg&tbm=isch&ved=0ahUKEwjLitOYmvvKAhVO1mMKHdOaCesQMwg5KAcwBw
  5. Amazon delivered a package to my house today, first time I'd seen an Amazon delivery van...a new Ford Transit w/ the Amazon 'A' logo stuck on the sides and rear door..chatted w/ the driver a bit, he said this week was the first week of them doing deliveries in the area, instead of the usual UPS, USPS and FedEx Amazon deliveries...
  6. Neat retro touch to the see the orange and vertical POWER WAGON stripe...ala the 1980 Macho Power Wagon trim. http://machopowerwagon.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=382&g2_serialNumber=2
  7. I'll try to remember to look when I'm home. I know the CR-V is listed as a wagon. Hmm...I need to check the registration on my sister's '15 Trax..see what it is listed as. Edit: checked-- the Trax and my Jeep have '4DSW' on the registrations(AZ)...it may vary state-by-state.... IIRC, the Colorado registrations on my Jeep and my Bronco before that also said SW. Maybe some states don't have a specific category for SUV or CUV, probably because their ancient back office software systems predate the rise of the SUV/CUV categories...
  8. I knew that, of course, just wasn't sure if the '67 and '68 GPs had the same roofline..
  9. That's what those look like. I remember a '68 in Goodfellas also...dark red w/ a black top IIRC. Interesting how Pontiac had a one-year only rear end for the '68 (unique quarters, decklid, rear bumper)..not sure about the roof, if it was the same as the '67 or unique also.
  10. We still have a far better, FAR newer GLS at a cheaper price- why not build the GLS at a higher price point and eliminate the embarrassment & anachronism the G is in the catalog? Because "and then what?" The thing is, I don't think anyone really views the G class as an 'embarrassment'...their buyers certainly don't. The G-class is going to get some internal competition soon, though, if the rumoured Maybach version of the GLS comes out... Look at Land Rover..they've kept the positively ancient Defender in production forever while having the modern Range Rovers around also. Though the Defender has always been considerably cheaper than the Range Rovers and without the luxury image. They have finally stopped production on the Defender, and supposedly have a new one under development, but I can't imagine it will do well compared to the classic version ..
  11. I guess it's honest simplicity of construction is part of the appeal, like the Land Rover Defender. Retro without trying to be retro.
  12. Yeah, the 2nd gen Liberty was about the size of the 1st gen Grand Cherokee...each generation gets larger; today's wild looking Cherokee is actually longer than the 2nd gen GC...
  13. Actually, the G-wagen dates from the late 70s...yes, they are a low volume niche vehicle, but I see them often enough...seem about as common as Range Rovers (not the Sport, but the big one) around here.. they sell well enough worldwide to have them had continued far beyond their original variation...
  14. Ah, would never have guessed a Liberty, as they were considered a compact. I thought you had said a midsize.
  15. I would assume...the odds of Balthy buying a Merc seem as unlikely as you buying a Cadillac...
  16. I can only think of a few candidates--midsize RWD/4WD SUV, 2005 or newer, domestic, V6...Grand Cherokee, Durango/Aspen, Explorer/Mariner/Aviator, 1st gen SRX (long shot as it was more of a wagon than an SUV/CUV).
  17. Whatever..believe what you want to believe...3dr and 5dr have been applied to Rabbits, Golfs, Omnis, Escorts, etc since the 70s-80s..not just SUVs and CUVs..but I guess facts like that don't apply in the Ed Gein Fanclub. Anyway, back to the thread topic, gray, black or another color?
  18. You are really pedantic and.or deranged, aren't you?? No one said anything about entering or exiting through the rear hatch... 3dr/5dr has been a standard designation for decades...even in the era of print magazines it was a standard designation--in the real world, not your fantasy world. And what in the hell do the dimensions of a Volare (a car from 40 years ago that few remember and fewer care about) have to do with anything???
  19. Actually, 5dr is the standard designation for 4dr hatchbacks, has been for 3-4 decades. Newer than 2010?
  20. Toyota 4Runner would be a good reliable choice, and it fits all the parameters so far..but I get the impression Balthy wouldn't go Japanese..
  21. Apparently, the original Corvair concept is seafoam green, there is a recreation in red. But the seafoam green was apparently scrapped in '57. So it's a mystery, I suppose.. http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/news/hobby-news/legendary-1954-chevrolet-corvair-dream-car-recreated
  22. Those had a straight 6 (mine is an '00 w/ the 6).....however, the 3rd gen from '05-10 had a V6, as did the Durango. I can't see Balthy going w/ a Mopar, though. Forgot that detail..one of GM's forgotten engines.
  23. Hmmm...I'm thinking a GMT-360 or Explorer/Mariner. Warmer or colder?
  24. What questions? Didn't see any...thought you wanted 11 guesses. Edit: ah...you wanted us to ask questions. Ok...FWD/AWD?
