  1. Looks like a typical modern CUV, not a wagon...should do well in NA and Europe..
  2. It makes sense if you don't want to deal w/ an aging car and the expenses and issues that come as the miles rack up. I've thought about doing it, basically get a new car every few years.... I've been lucky w/ my Jeep for 16 years, but I don't trust it enough to stray very far from home even w/ AAA. I always rent when I do a road trip.. Buying used cars is a dicey proposition, I've had mixed results and might consider something 2-3 years old, either regular or CPO, but with a warranty of some sort.
  3. The tighter turning radius has nothing to do with it being BOF, it's because of its north-south RWD/4WD drivetrain rather than the transverse FWD/AWD layout of the Equinox, Explorer, etc.
  4. As long as gas prices stay cheap the market for full size SUVs will remain, I suspect...I have driven the latest generation of Tahoe, it's a very comfortable daily driver and road trip vehicle..doesn't feel truckish at all.
  5. I'm a Gen Xer and like chrome, monochromatic seems like too much of an 80s thing, I don't care for the black out trim base look, definitely don't like matte finishes. Interesting that the red regular cab has a Nissan fork lift attached.
  6. It's good that they made it distinctive..Toyota already has many bland models like the Corolla and Camry that will appeal to the normcore crowd.
  7. I haven't seen it person yet, but definitely has a family resemblance to the Marai. Both the new Prius and Marai are bold, brash and distinctive designs. Not vanilla. Which is a good thing.
  8. I saw that movie, don't remember the plot beyond that there was Prius and a early 70s Chevelle also..
  9. A coworker of mine is excited over the new Prius, really wants one to replace his old one...(his wife has one also, the Prius V for the family hauler). He was going on and on today about the Super Bowl ads..
  10. I had to google that. Not sure what you found via googling, but 'B' = Beyonce. Some call it 'curves', some call it 'thick', I call it what it is : fat. She fat, and I'm not talking about phat. She's also known as 'Bey' or 'Queen Bey'.... I wouldn't call her fat, more curvy and Rubenesque....a fat singer is Beth Ditto..
  11. I turned the volume down during the halftime show...not as bad as The Black Eyed Peas a couple years ago. My favorite half time shows over the last 15 years or so were U2, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, The Rolling Stones and The Who...
  12. At least the hockey team is a Chevy... And Chevy named a truck after the state..and my Jeep is named after a city on the Texas-Mexico border.. Not a Beyonce fan...her routine looked too much like something from Janet Jackson 20 years ago... but Gaga's performance of the National Anthem was great...
  13. Watching the Super Bowl ads, I got to wondering..has Tesla ever had a TV commercial, don't recall ever seeing one?
  14. How about the Super Bowl Prius ads w/ the police chases? Definitely badass.. Outlaw Prius.
  15. Here you are wrong, the west coast has a massive charging infrastructure now especially with the electric highway initiative. You can now drive all over British Columbia and down to Baha California and charge all the way. http://westcoastgreenhighway.com/ I also wrote about this back in April 2015 http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/84688-electric-highway-west-coast-style/ The electrification of the US will happen faster than you think and not 20 years from now. Tesla sells a butt load of auto's in Washington state and we are northern state so you fail in your assessment that this is a Southern state car only. US vehicle market was 17 million plus last year. about 4 tenths of one percent of the US market. that is niche. California is not the US. elec infrastructure will cost trillions and it ain't happenin in 5 years. Buyers who buy new cars this year, those cars will be on the road for 10-15 years yet. Stuff will still be petroleum driven for quite some time, the world doesn't change that quickly. Tesla did outsell Fiat though. Let's send Musk a medal for that. Get a map..West Coast isn't just California...but California is the largest auto market in the country...
  16. Minivan would be perfect for a teenager..would motivate him to save his $$$ and buy his own car..
  17. Crowds are a lot thinner earlier in the week...the really outrageous prices go on Friday and Saturday..
  18. Cubitar Trivia: I drove a Ford Mustang and a Ford Bronco (II) when I moved to Broncos country in 1997..seems like a lifetime ago..
  19. I love that song...and get a kick of joking about it, as I did grow up on the edge of Ohio's Amish country... got stuck behind a black horse and buggy on a narrow backroad w/ no place to pass many times...
  20. One thing I've seen a fair bit around here are the 2-3 year old vehicles with 60- 70k miles... akkk...too many miles on something that recent..

The West Coast is usually ahead of the rest of the country on many things, esp. at adopting new technologies and green solutions...especially in the great tech cities like Seattle and San Francisco. Quite different than Ocn's Amish paradise, where it's still the 1800s...
  22. Besides auction week, there are a lot of nice old cars around here, still see some fairly often being driven in the winter when the weather is great...
  23. 5 years ago, I went to Barrett-Jackson (Scottsdale) and spent 7 hours wandering around looking at everything...trying to see everything. It's become so huge...I compressed my visit into less than 3 hours this year..the first time I went, 15 years ago, it was a much smaller event...
