  1. Not getting warm fuzzies about the dash design or steering wheel..they seem very busy, looks like a mix of current Malibu, Camaro and MKS elements sort of in there..
  2. Interesting...nice evolution of the current Viper design. A couple exterior details I don't care for--the faux quarter window or scoop on the c-pillar behind the side window looks out of place, and the carbon fiber taillight surround is tasteless...
  3. Which is interesting to note seeing as how the Asian Chevy Colorado seems to borrow the current Equinox and Traverse frontend split grille theme and many have not liked how it plays out on this compact pickup. Maybe part of the wait for it's 2015 debut is a redesign to bring it alignment with the 2013 Impala and Traverse? I'm also excited for the NG Equinox to lose the split grille theme. Also, Is it just me or does anyone else see "Camaro" in the frontend of this shot? Yes...I'm sure it's intentional..
  4. No. The Malibu is a midsize, competes w/ the Fusion. The Impala is a fullsize, competes w/ the Taurus. Seems clear to me.
  5. Not bad, but lots of derivative elements...very Hyundai/Kia overtones to the rear. Some Audi A7 and Fusion in the profile and greenhouse. I guess the wedge shape horizontal taillights are this decades' equivalent to the triangular taillights at the corners that dominated the last 15 years or so. I also see some Infiniti M in the profile. The dash is very busy compared to the simple, clean current Impala dash. It's a good looking car overall, nicer than the too-tall slab sided look of the Taurus, IMO. Anyhoo, I look forward to renting one at Alamo or Thrifty when they appear there...
  6. Yeah, not my choice...but if Google gets their way, it will be a reality soon on some roads, I suspect... Google is already planning on doing advertising based on the background noises it can hear on whatever device you happen to have with you. Sound like you have a leak in the exhaust in your Jeep Cherokee there... better show you some Midas Muffler banners. I heard about that... speaking of all things Google, my Droid experience has been frustrating...I may go to the Dark Side w/ my next phone purchase...
  7. Cool..more diesels are good thing, esp. in SUVs....I'm still waiting to see diesel Jeeps back on the market...
  8. Saw a 2012 Porsche 911 yesterday in black, the 2nd of the new 991 generation I've seen on the road..looks great.
  9. I wonder when Chrysler will offer the 8spd w/ the Hemi..
  10. I guess this is the main target of the new MKZ, along w/ the LaCrosse...
  11. It definitely has a honed, technical quality to it...the bland exterior and interior colors of the photos definitely add to the coldness... I'd like to see it a brighter exterior color and light or two tone interior..
  12. I like it..the grille chrome inserts are a bit much, but maybe there is a blackout version available. Nicer looking than the disgusting Ford Super Duty or bland F150, or the GM trucks for that matter, IMO.
  13. Yeah, I checked the pics on Autoblog and they look normal...on my 24 inch Mac monitor and 15 inch laptop monitor they look wierd here...
  14. The photos in the gallery all look weirdly distorted (maybe it's my browser resolution), so I can't really judge the shape and proportions..I like the taillight detailing and profile, though the decklid seems overwrought and too tall..
  15. Neat...I've seen some older folks mod their cars...like the people w/ PT Cruisers w/ whitewalls, flame decals, '50s style wheels, etc. My Mom (4' 11", 81) has kept her '05 Navigator mostly original except for replacing the all-season tires w/ more aggressive mud & snow tires (for the muddy rural Ohio outback conditions) and replaced the carpeted floormats w/ heavy rubber WeatherTech ones). '
  16. Interesting...I see no Cadillac resembalance, but I do see a similarity to other '77-79 Buick models...
  17. Some of those Open Road campers had a sliding glass door at the back and a porch..
  18. I wouldn't call it 'badge engineering'...more like platform sharing...same as with other A-bodies from '64 on... these had Buick engines, specific interiors, probably no exterior panels shared except for the greenhouse..
  19. Same risk w/ a convertible top. One has to assume the electricals are reliable enough that it's unlikely to happen.
  20. The '73-75 looked better, IMO...in '76 they blanded out the Regal and Century coupes by smoothing out the sides and hood.
  21. 'panaormaic' may translate to 'panoramic' or 'panoramatic' (which sounds like a '50s trademarked product name). Other trivia.. Ford and Mercury had giant fixed plexiglass sunroof options in the mid 50s, don't think Lincoln had one then... Lincoln also had a large fixed glass moonroof option on the Continental coupes around '77-79.
  22. The Astra design is interesting, but where are the sun visors? Seems like it would be awful to drive in rush hour...
  23. Stainless Steel.
