  1. Mmmmm...Stuckeys pecan log rolls..those were a staple of family road trips when I was growing up...we would drive back and forth between our houses in Ohio and S. Florida 2-4 times a year, always stopping in the South at Stuckeys..
  2. Then you are SOL..
  3. Why do you think it would be 500lbs heavier? I doubt GM could make a compact RWD model under 3000lbs...I suspect the small Alphas will be more like 3400-3500lbs... What are you calling small? You just named the weight range for the ATS sedan. I was thinking of something the size of the Code 130R, if they did something like that...
  4. Sounds like this is a recipe for a Z-28...surprised they went with the obscure 1LE name. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the Boss 302. This definitely sounds like the Camaro I'd like to drive on twisty back roads...
  5. Well, the i3 and next 1-series (previously referred to here as the 0-series) will be FWD...kind of a step up above Mini...the next X1 may also be FWD/AWD...
  6. Why do you think it would be 500lbs heavier? I doubt GM could make a compact RWD model under 3000lbs...I suspect the small Alphas will be more like 3400-3500lbs...
  7. A V6 would enable them to do some future FWD transverse V6 model, as horrific as that thought is...
  8. Hmmm...motor sport is much more my area of interest, but I do have a bit of interest in stick-n-ball sports. Rivalries that I know of in my recent cities of residence (Denver and Phoenix): Football: Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs Denver Broncos vs AZ Cardinals Baseball: Colorado Rockies vs AZ Diamondbacks Colorado Rockies vs San Diego Padres Hockey: Colorado Avalanche vs Detroit Redwings AZ Coyotes vs ? And for my colleges, the ones that come to mind: Kent State Golden Flashes vs U of Akron Zips U of Michigan Wolverines vs Ohio State Buckeyes
  9. If Chevy did build something like the Code 130R, though, that could potentially compete w/ the BRZ....though it would probably be 500 lbs heavier..
  10. I haven't heard of or seen a Shoney's in decades. I do remember Elby's Big Boy restaurants in Ohio back in the '70s-80s, though.
  11. Interesting...strong Honda or Toyota feel to the front end w/ the horizontal grille lines...odd they would move away from the current Chevy signature grille style..
  12. Maybe, but it's an apples v oranges comparison..this is a much smaller, lighter car...different niche.
  13. Yes..I would expect a production version of the Google autonomious Priuses would have a Android-based tablet interface, for example. Or if Apple teams up w/ a car maker to do an iCar I would expect it to have an iPad....
  14. Edge-76, Nox-72.5. So the Edge is about 3 in shorter and 3 in wider.
  15. The original article says the platform investment was approx. 50 billion pounds, which is approx 79 billion USD.
  16. Currently as far as CUVs, the Ford/GM alignment seems to be the Traverse matches up w/ the Flex and Equinox w/ the Edge. Nothing really lines up w/ the Escape or Explorer. WIll be interesting to see how things evolve... With BOF SUVs, the Tahoe and Suburban line up well w/ the Expedition and Expedition EL. I guess the Buick, GMC, and Cadillac entries sort of map to Lincoln.
  17. The current Equinox is closer to the Pilot in size..a lot bigger than the CR-V...
  18. V6 in a BMW???? That is so wrong on so many levels...
  19. Yeah, remember just a few years ago when around 300 hp was typical for a mainstream V8 ('05-10 Mustang GT, for example). About that 700k mile 300M..that's a staggering amount of driving...even if it's over 10 years old. Wow..
  20. Chevy could use it here...they have nothing in the compact or subcompact CUV niche...nothing to compete directly w/ the CR-V, RAV-4, Escape, Rouge, etc...
  21. I suspect this would be priced at 1/3 to 1/4 the price of the LFA...
  22. The devil is in the details.
  23. Yes..that is strange that they offer the V8 w/ a manual but not the V6...the Charger should be available w/ a manual also, IMO.
  24. I think at the time the press releases presented it as the 'all-new' Avalon, but it was just a new dash, nose, tail back in '10 for MY '11...
