  1. Accidents happen in research labs...sounds like they were well equipped to deal with it..
  2. There's a '60s vintage Checker in good shape around here in dark gray w/ a black vinyl top and porthole windows, chrome bumpers...
  3. I could picture Samedei rockin' this one..bench seat, lots of room inside. Painted flat black w/ anarchy symbols painted on the hood and doors...
  4. Pretty freakin cool, but I'd rather have a Land Rover Defender...too bad it's not still sold here..
  5. I'm assuming they won't use the name used in the Middle East and South Africa for the Chevy Zeta SWB sedan--Lumina.
  6. There will be a big screaming headline somewhere warning people that if they have a Volt in their garage that it may be going to explode...
  7. The Spark and Yaris aren't too cheap. For example, to get a Spark with options that are close to what the 500 has standard, you're only spending about $1,000 less than you would on the Fiat. Granted, the Spark has two more doors and is more practical, but honestly who's going to be able to wake up and look outside at a Chevy Spark for 60 to 72 months? Probably drivers that otherwise couldn't afford a new car, I guess...someone that needs a reliable transportation appliance but doesn't care about style.
  8. The 500 and Mini are stylish subcompacts, while the Spark, Yaris, Accent, etc are just cheap commuter appliances...different niche.
  9. Chocolate Lab
  10. I wouldn't give the A7 that much credit. The Impala has had the six-window glasshouse since 2000 or 1994, depending on how you look at it. Yes, but the fastback aspect of the c-pillar flowing into the decklid is quite similar to the A7 and several other recent cars..
  11. Still staggering that it takes that long to develop a product. I guess I'm too used to product development in internet time.
  12. 4 years seems like a really long time to get a new model on a new platform w/ existing engines to market...Toyota, Honda, VW, etc can probably do it in 2-3 years...
  13. Apples and oranges..can't really compare a car from over 40 years ago w/ a modern car. Cars were bigger yet lighter then.
  14. Yeah, they have their own kitchy appeal, esp. w/ the woodgrain on the sides. I esp. like the '71-76 GM wagons w/ the rear window that retracts into the roof...
  15. The '64 is neat..with Fords (and GMs) I prefer late '60s-early '70s styling to early 60s styling.
  16. Would be an interesting option. I can't see the macho crowd that buys full size trucks going for a 4cyl, though...
  17. Fixed. The Montego was the mid-size Mercury wagon in '69.
  18. All the rumors on this and other forums are it will be a Zeta model..and that seems the most likely give the time frame. Look at all the comments made by hyper6 and other insiders in other threads.
  19. My folks had a '69 Marquis 4dr ht and a '73 one..but I was too young to remember the '69, can barely remember the '73.
  20. That Volvo is sweet...can't recall the last time I saw a coupe or wagon P1800...
  21. I think pure hybrids like the Prius will continue to do well, but hybrid versions of regular models will continue to do not so good...people buying hybrids seem to prefer pure hybrids.
  22. I wonder if a CUV or coupe will be the next variation... though a larger Camry sized Prius is rumored also.
