  1. I don't think I've seen that ad...
  2. But didn't ya know, the new GS has interesting new technology, such as blind spot monitoring, as featured on the 2007 Buick Lucerne, heads up display as on the 1992 Pontiac Bonneville, 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and night vision as featured first on the 2000 Cadillac Deville and later on the 2002 Lexus LX. Want to know how I know? The Lexus commercial that keeps running over and over touting all of the new technology that the new GS has and how much more technologically advanced the car is because of these things. sorry for the rant, but that commercial gets on my nerves so much that I'm 'bout ready to write an article blasting them for it and then tweet the hell out of it so maybe they will pull it. Yeah, but it's a Lexus... Saw a matte black Corvette ZR1 at lunch...the matte look is getting played out, I think...that look just doesn't work on a Corvette, IMO.
  3. Jags seem like they would be good for a short lease, but not for a long term relationship...
  4. Hmm...are talking Porsche the company or Porsche the man? Research turned up an even earlier model that Dr. Porsche's name was on...
  5. I'm thinking 959, but it may be something strange and obscure like the '50s tractor or something...
  6. Marv Albert
  7. There is a '71 also on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m1374&item=260970216738&_trkparms=algo%3DPI.WATCH%26otn%3D8%26po%3DLCA%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6813144933531186002&cmd=ViewItem
  8. Yes, it's a gateway drug for premium cars....hook 'em when they are young.
  9. They probably were semi-common for a while around large airports....these are the predecssors of the shuttle vans in use at airports by hotels, etc today...
  10. Yes, PLEASE! This thing is hideous! And btw, Cadillac should be paying serious attention to this segment (besides the Escalade) This is going to cost probably 3-4 times what the Escalade does, though..don't think Cadillac is going after the ultra-luxury niche. Yeah, my idea was more Cayenne-pricing than this thing's pricing which will surely be crazy expensive... But it'd be interesting to think about this type of vehicle (Omega?) besides the truck-based Escalade. To the Escalade's merit, though, it has to be an extremely high-unit-margin vehicle; the true definition of a cash-cow. I would think Cadillac would get a Lambda CUV at some point...

  12. I like the interior. I wonder if it has enough cubbys for them to stash their drugs and guns when they are rollin' dirty. Because that is where the money is...fat profit margins.. Though as long as they funnel the money back into car development, I guess it's acceptable (like w/ Porsche). With Jaguar paired w/ the LR/RR, I can't see the point of them doing one. Surprised R-R hasn't done one yet.
  13. Or a Mormon family here in the East Valley...
  14. Ideal for a Pontiac fan w/ a big family that doesn't want a 16 passenger van...
  15. Radical...the front end looks like it's been bent inward..
  16. Well, as has been said countless times, the vast majority of consumers are ignorant of the RWD aspect or don't care, so for those superficial consumers that only want the brand, this and the FWD 1-series will be their entry ticket to the big leagues.
  17. The interior looks nice, at least from the pics...not the usual gray pit of despair most FWD compacts have...
  18. Ahhh...I remember that name from a Road & Track article from probably 30 years ago or more..
  19. Not sure, but a prototype was at the NY Auto Show last year...the crossover variation most likely will. With the 2015 EPA regs coming, I would expect BMW and M-B to bulk up their entry level lines in the US... True, I keep forgetting or ignoring not sure which about the stupid reg that will force everyone to beef up gas milage. Guess you can have the Econo Section of a BMW and MB lot, but I do think this will be allot harder to them to pull off compared to Chevy and Cadillac. Different niche...this is for the subcompact/compact premium niche...above Mini, where the Audi A3, BMW 1-series, Lexus CT currently are...and a likely future Cadillac subcompact will be. I understand what you are saying, but none of those would I ever consider due to how big I am and I have never liked the way a front wheel drives. I wouldn't consider them either, but you aren't the target consumer, neither am I...there are plenty of buyers out there that would consider such cars, esp. women and younger buyers that want a premium brand, premium content and refinement without a premium price or size...

  22. Interesting..did Chris Bangle join M-B? Looks like some Bangled surfacing on the doors....I assume they will have a trunked version for hatchback-avoiding Americans...
  23. All I know about St Cloud is that St Cloud State U is there, where a buddy of mine in Colorado went to school...he was always talking about abelskivers and the Abelskiver Days festival in his hometown of Tyler, Mn.
  24. Hmmm.....the orange and 'mileage' hint makes me think of that strange trapazoid shaped electric city car from the late '70s, don't know the company name or where it was built, though... Edit: it was the Citicar I was thinking of, but apparently those were built in Florida...
  25. Cross Coupe looks interesting... like the grille and the C-pillar--nice to see a solid C-pillar on a CUV/SUV instead of a predictable quarter window. So isn't the Golf cabrio redundant w/ the Eos?
