  1. La Forza. That's it...was thinking 'Forenza' or 'Fortera' but that was a Vauxhall..
  2. I like it from the 3 photos I've seen..more like the Infiniti FX than the more mainstream premium SUVs (X5, ML). Will be interesting to see how the interior turns out. Interesting to see the Italians get into the luxury SUV game. Will be interesting to see how the Alfa one turns out also. The last Italian SUV in the US IIRC was in the late 80s-early 90s...an angular model by a small company whose name I can't recall..had Ford engines...I've seen maybe 4 of them in the last 20 years.
  3. If it's as nice as the 2nd gen CTS in a smaller package w/ the latest cabin tech and drives similar to the C-class and 3-series, then I suspect it will be very good indeed...
  4. I'm sorry to hear that and can relate.. two of my (actually my sisters') dogs are getting along in age (both 14) and having some health issues...they've become an important part of my life since moving to AZ in '08. Pets are like part of the family, I love my little entourage that follows me around the house (5 terriers in total).
  5. Happy Birthday, 66! Have a good one.
  6. Where is BMW sourcing their current automatics? ZF? They probably need a 10 speed for their NG models..
  7. Of the '73-77 A-body generation, there are a few I really like...like the '73 Chevelle SS, '73-75 Laguna, '73 Buick GS, '73 Grand Am, '77 Can Am, '76-77 Cutlass Supreme and Cutlass S. Too many of them had the styling ruined by the weak 2 headlight setup and the big bumpers, IMO. The '73 Buick one of the nicest profiles, IMO.
  8. Seems like this could be a path to Cadillac getting a modern DOHC V8...I can't see GM doing it from scratch. That's an intriguing thought! But would that not cause a BMW competitor in the new gen Cadillac's? I am not so sure BMW would want that! Maybe BMW would let Cadillac develop something off their last gen V8... anyway, using BMW diesels would make sense for Cadillac in Europe.
  9. Ouch. Something like that happened to my brother about 30 years ago w/ a rusty Mustang, along w/ the added drama of being on a bridge going about 60 mph with a carb fire..
  10. Seems like this could be a path to Cadillac getting a modern DOHC V8...I can't see GM doing it from scratch.
  11. I've read about people building up Turbo Dodge Caravans that ran really fast on drag strips..I guess the old 2.2 Turbo had a lot of potential.
  12. Saw a silver-green Plymouth Volare 4dr in minty condition tonight...very unusual to see one of those in any condition. Saw a black Fiat 500, tinted windows, chrome rims at a light.. next to a burnt orange Challenger R/T Classic.
  13. Maybe they will do a Spark 2 seat hatchback coupe and roadster, like the new Mini coupe and roadster..
  14. Sounds like they are going to get a Turkish-built Doblo. 2013 Ram van-Doblo based
  15. Istanbul was Constantinople, and Constantinople was Byzantium.
  16. There is a really sharp dark red w/ white stripe '73 Chevelle SS nearby, same guy has a black '75 Laguna, a red G8, and a white '10 Camaro SS in his driveway...
  17. Those '70s land yachts are great..
  18. LoL...saw a red Yaris 2dr yesterday towing a small trailer, in use by a small business--Mr Grout or something like that...a grout and stone cleaning service.
  19. Saw a worn out Maxx tonight...no hubcaps, missing front bumper, denty front fender and doors..
  20. I would assume the price will be similar to the Shelby GT500 (around 50k or so?). Weight? Probably around 4000 or so.
  21. Interesting mix of cars there...I really like the MKIII and the Grand Marquis. There were some two tone versions of the GM made then w/o vinyl tops that were really sharp.
  22. Ford pretty much did that with the Freestyle/Taurus X...
  23. It will be interesting to see what the real thing looks like. I think it's supposed to be based on the Grand Cherokee platform, as the Alfa SUV will be also..
  24. Yes, reality. The US consumer today prefers crossovers to wagons. A CUV would outsell a wagon by a large margin. I'd prefer a wagon, but I'm not an average consumer.
  25. That's cool...IIRC, the Laguna nose was also available on the wagon in '73..seem to recall seeing a pic of one somewhere.
