  1. Malibu (Rockford had a trailer by the sea in Malibu)
  2. Saw a slammed, low-gloss '60 Caddy 2dr ht oozing down the street this morning, all shiny chrome and pointy fins..had an old white-on-black license plate, not sure what state. Saw a medium silver green mid '80s Ford Aerostar panel van (no side windows, barn doors out back) in clean shape. Haven't seen one of those in years, and I remember those back in the day usually in white w/ various livery graphics.

    CTS Engines

Maybe Cadillac will come out by mid-decade w/ Spark- and Aveo-based entry lux models below the ATS that will get high gas mileage.
  4. Fresno CA - Aftershocks, not real strong, no hurricanes unless they are in a glass and you drink it, a very rare thunderstorm or tornado, flooding naw dog we have a freeway that can take floodwater, drought - it can happen here it is california, snowfall - what?. Heat- some dry 100+ days in the summer but not bad. But we are pretty smoggy. I was going to say the Phoenix... heat (4-5 months of 100+ temps most days) and dust storms being the big negatives as far as weather or natural phenomena. I've lived in the Florida Keys, various points in the Midwest, a couple places in Colorado and Phoenix, and I think my personal ideal is still the Colorado Front Range...other than big snowstorms, it's a great climate..lots of sun, dry, blue skies. Not sure where my next move will be, 75% chance it will back to Denver...but there are several other areas that are promising.
  5. Good luck to all of you on the East Coast. I remember all too well the life in the Florida Keys in the '80s during hurricane season..boarding up, packing up and heading for the mainland, etc.
  6. Yes. Ram Dakota, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Ram Outdoorsman, Ram Laramie Longhorn (according to the Ram website)...
  7. Looking at the pics, it looks like the metal from the B-pillar forward is shared w/ the Astra wagon...
  8. I thought the Verano was just a 4dr version of the Astra w/ Buick fascias. Same platform as the Cruze.
  9. That M-80 looks like something that could be built off the Wrangler platform. Front end looks a lot like the Ntro, actually. Or they could do something like Jeep did long ago w/ the Comanche..share the Cherokee (Liberty) platform..
  10. Wow...amazing. The depth of the stupidity of some of the religious right continues to amaze me. It's one thing to be spiritual, it's another to be bat-sh*t crazy delusional. These people are dangerous.
  11. Yeah, lots of hype in the media..I guess it's because earthquakes are rare on the East Coast while they are pretty common on the West Coast. And now the East is bracing for a hurricane (sounds like it missed my old home area, the Florida Keys).
  12. Model year timelines and releases are so random now who knows..the Charger and 300C both came out as MY 11s but during CY 11, IIRC...ultimately, the model year means very little.
  13. I've read that the 'lifestyle' vehicle could be based on the GC/Durango, so that is promising... For a compact truck, how about a rebadged, federalized version of the Fiat Strada? (which is currently sold in S. America in regular and extended cab versions)?
  14. Weather and seismic activity have nothing to do with one another. Mostly. There does appear to be some kind of link between large subsurface radon gas releases and brilliant red-orange sunrises/sunsets shortly before a quake, but nothing definite. Just prior to the Japan quake, atmospheric radon levels skyrocketed over Japan. I've read that. Conspiracy theorists believe the radon gas is released by the earthquake machines when they are used (i.e. the theory being the US government has earthquake machines (the HAARP array is part of it) to cause earthquakes to influence political/economic changes..
  15. Seems wierd to have a power driver's seat but not a power passenger seat.
  16. With JP Morgan, it's apparently the way they do their authentication isn't supported by Mint (according to a Mint CSR). Though apparently it works with Quicken and some other iPhone/etc app that is a Mint competitor (Page One or something like that).
  17. I guess they don't want to cut into the sales of the larger, more profitable Equinox in the US. I would think it would find sales--a small, efficient people hauler.
  18. A commenter on Autoblog had this to say about the Toyota pace car: LoL... my commute is 8 miles on 35 and 40 mph streets. Inevitably I seem to get stuck behind a Prius in the middle of 3 lanes going 35 in the 40 zone...
  19. I like wood and metal trim... black plastic just looks cheap to me (I don't like the dash of a car to look like my home theater equipment).. for carbon fiber--I like to see the real stuff on race cars, but on a street car the sight of it gives me dry heaves.
  20. You feel Chevy is following Hyundai? I don't. Hyundai's car lineup has some product variation. Outside of the Camaro and Corvette (which has not fit the Chevy portfolio for 40 years, and is more of a "GM product"), Chevy is microscopic appliance, small appliance, medium appliance, largish appliance. That's Toyota's modus operandi. Hyundai's appliances are just more 'boldly' styled than Toyota, still just a bunch of forgettable FWD generics..the Genesis and Equus are the wildcards and shouldn't be badged as Hyundais, really belong to a premium brand above Hyundai, IMO. But otherwise, they have Accent, Elantra, Sonata, and Alzera. Chevy will soon have 5 sizes of appliance soon in NA....Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Malibu, and Impala. Ford will be one short (maybe bring the Ka eventually?). Dodge is definitely going a different path..
  21. I'm sure the sheeple will buy it in droves. It's been America's favorite transportation appliance for a long time.
  22. That is an issue Cadillac, M-B, and BMW (to a lesser degree) all have to some degree w/ the performance models--they should offer their most luxurious interiors w/ rather that the dour, dark, depressing 'sporty' interiors they often put in the performance models... I'd like a CTS-v with the regular CTS light tan w/ wood and aluminum trim interior, not a gloomy black or despair gray interior. At least the trim is piano black and not disgusting faux carbon fiber, though I'd rather have wood & aluminum. I have to TOTALLY disagree with you. In performance, I want what the CTS-V has. Piano black. The M3 is this way as my boss has a new black one. The sales mgr here has a Mercades AMG and again no wood in that also. Performance models all have the black, composite, racing interior type look and those for the most part want this type of interior. I think you need to just buy the CTS you like and the V engine in Crate form and build it yourself. My point is the buyer should have the choice. That is true luxury. The luxury of choice. I don't mind black interiors when used a two-tone. I generally despise gray. Nothing looks cheaper and more unappealing to me than all black or all gray inside..
  23. Mint for android is a steaming pile... it's not synched w/ the website, has no way to delete notifications, etc. I've been frustrated enough w/ Mint (both on the phone and the website) that I'm still sticking w/ MS Money for my serious stuff...(though I've thought about switching to Quicken). Mint has been releasing a series of updates for their Android app and it has improved dramatically in the last month or two. It's definitely become better..most of the issues I had with it have been resolved..most recent update made the fonts larger I noticed. The really wierd issues I had (duplicate accounts showing, etc) have been resolved. Mint still doesn't support JP Morgan (have a 401k there), and a lot of people have groused about that on Mint's forums...oh well.
  24. Cool..haven't seen any of those..need to hit some of local Targets and WMs I guess. I did see that HW now has a '67 442 in their Garage line and a '59 Chevy Sedan Delivery in the Delivery series...scored those on ebay the other night. Haven't got any new HW or MBX in a while, mostly Greelight, M2 and JLs in the last month or so.
  25. I saw the white GXP in Scottsdale again today..sweet car.
