  1. Given the number of armed nutters here, the bikey may have gotten shot had he tried this here in AZ...
  2. Happy Birthday, all ya.
  3. Saw a really clean '73 Impala wagon, white w/ woodgrain trim. Clean sharp chrome. Never seen a white wagon of that era.
  4. Where is your source on this? I've seen it in couple of places...Racer magazine was one, I think. Edit: googling turned up many results, all from last October.. Racer US DTM Autoblog US DTM
  5. NASCAR is launching an NA DTM-style series also in 2013 also...nice to see more road racing in the NA..
  6. You could probably fit in the 500C with the top down, the driver's seat removed and sitting in the backseat...
  7. I still haven't seen a 500 yet..
  8. This might be the best review I've read so far (Roger Ebert and Peter Travers both had good reviews also): Transformers: Dark of The Moon review from Film Freak Central
  9. That was a fun movie...another one I liked that had a similar premise was 'The Philadelphia Experiment'..
  10. Not my genre really, but the biggest complaint I have is on that on many of them, you can't get a manual w/ the top trim levels...a manual transmission shouldn't relegate one to a depressing stripped down base model. The Golf or Golf GTI still seems to be the gold standard to me in FWD compacts, at least it seems to be the most serious and sporty (in GTI form). In the subcompact realm, the Mini is probably the most interesting as far as the design and the availability of a performance version (the S and JCW versions).
  11. Well, the Charger and 300 are at the same price point more or less. It would be nice to see a V8 RWD full size from GM, but I don't see it happening, what with a new Epsilon II Impala coming in a couple years...
  12. Happy Birthday!
  13. How about a Trancers franchise reboot? Great cheesy '80s sci-fi. Besides Battlestar Galactica, another 1979 sci-fi show I remember from childhood was Project UFO, which kind of had a similar premise to X-Files, about an Air Force group investigating UFO sightings...lots of dark blue '75-78 Ford LTDs IIRC. Another one towards the high-cheese end of the TV spectrum I remember from then was Quark, w/ Richard Benjamin about space trash collectors.. Westworld is getting remade also I've read... I hope they don't do a reboot of Rockford Files, probably my favorite '70s show from childhood..
  14. Actually... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392190/ I tend to feel these 80's 'reboots' are being done to appeal to two crowds. The thirty-somethings who fondly remember the originals, and the early twenty-somethings who 'ironically' love the originals. Yeah, I think there is truth to that...as a forty-something (still feels weird saying that), I fondly remember lots of '80s movies and usually watch the remakes (rarely like them, though). Too bad there was never a sequel to Buckaroo Banzai back in the day (one of my favorites) and I really wouldn't want to see my favorite John Hughes movies remade..
  15. Cool...woodgrain, vinyl top, and white wall tires!
  16. I've also heard rumors about a Back to the Future remake.
  17. I always invisioned using the '91-'92 Caprice body for that, and just needed to figure out how to rework the rear end for vertical taillights. a'la the Ninety-Eight style from the previous generation. I was thinking the Roadmaster for the more formal roofline...though a Caprice would be good for a RWD '88' and the Roadmaster for a RWD '98' phantom...
  18. Thanks all...low key day, going out to dinner w/ family and friends tonite. Got a couple new Revell model kits for my birthday.
  19. For a custom, would be interesting to adapt the front end of one of those onto a Roadmaster sedan and install Ninety-Eight taillights..make a phantom Olds sedan.
  20. City of Phoenix has quite a few of them, along w/ Impalas. Mostly 2wd I think. Maricopa County and the state have Expeditions and F150s in their mix..
  21. Would be interesting...I'd like to see a larger convertible, maybe a Regal based one (esp. if the rumored Calibra/Regal coupe comes to be)...
  22. Yeah, they wouldn't want a dealer selling cars that GM isn't advertising. Also, they don't want competition for the Impala..
  23. I'd be happy w/ dark gray or dark brown paint, window tint, steelies w/ DDs, and no emblems...I'd rather have the grille frame blacked out also. I'd like to have a tan cloth or leather interior, no weird police seats. Then spend some extra $$$ to upgrade the engine to get at least 400-450hp. Sounds to me like you have a plan. Time to buy one? I'd love to buy one right now...but I have the bigger, more pressing issue to take care of before I buy another car...(i.e. move out of Arizona).
  24. I saw a bright red front view (don't know if that is the spy shot) that looks very production-like...yeah, the woodgrain would be cool.
