  1. Saw a '95-96 Caprice in gold today that looked showroom fresh, all original. Nice to see one of these that's not trashed or donked or modified into a faux Impala SS.
  2. I still don't get the hype w/ 3D TVs.. I guess the TV makers are trying to find the next big thing now that HDTVs have reached maturity and a broad market. I can't really get into the tablet PC hype either..been lots of buzz about them.
  3. Looks consistent w/ the pics from the New York auto show from last April.. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/08/new-york-2011-jeep-grand-cherokee-first-live-shots/
  4. Telephone lines need to be buried underground. And trees need to be designed to snap off the base on impact.
  5. powder
  6. +1. It's a Cadillac...I expect/demand heft in a Cadillac. It's not a Lotus..
  7. I'm watching #ces on Twitter...getting a stream of posts.
  8. There is a keynote tonight by Steve Ballmer..going on right now. Next week I will probably regret not going.
  9. Is Chevy doing anything w/ Volt at CES? I know Ford has a Sync display. Then again, I have the show print guide right here in front of me, should read through it.
  10. Ohio (biggest Amish community is US is in Ohio, near where I grew up)
  11. About the only thing I've heard about was Nexus One announced yesterday before the show. I should get an email tonight from my manager w/ any interesting updates.
  12. Yes, but now it will have a 6spd automatic instead of a 4spd like the DTS.
  13. Could be a promo someone modified into a El Camino, or an annual kit painted to look like a promo. The older annual kits shared tooling w/ the promos, though the promos were made in a different type of plastic and molded in color.
  14. I remember the flyer for the DM kit. I plan to build a few 1:25th scale El Camino phantoms eventually...I've gathered the parts to do a '55 (the AMT '55 Nomad kit has parts for the El Camino conversion), a '62 (using the roof and bed from a '59), and a '70 Impala-based one (using custom parts from the MPC '70 Bonneville kit). Scale Auto Magazine had an article about 25 years ago w/ conversions that modelers built from '61-64 Impalas.
  15. By the way, where was the gas stop in the lead photo? That 'RESTAURANT' sign in building the background looks really familiar.
  16. Oshawa, eh? Which means... it will be either on Zeta or the W-platform (Epsy Dos is not at Oshawa yet, is it?)
  17. ?? The CES conference is in Las Vegas this week. Has nothing to do w/ Ford Europe.
  18. To tow a tiny trailer. I saw an interesting Metro the other day when random googling on hypermiling..some one had cut down the roofline of a Geo Metro to make it more aero, looked like a Honda CRX sorta kinda..
  19. LoL.... the pics (and Wikipedia entry on Henry Earl are pretty funny. Didn't we used to have a Harley Earl character on C&G? Someone that was a fan or had them as part of their sig or avatar?
  20. Ya... I had a ticket to go w/ my manager, but for various reasons, ended up not going. Would have been interesting.
  21. Cool...most of the Snappers I grew up mowing on had Briggs & Stratton engines, except for one that had a troubled Tecumseh.
  22. I'm sure Yakima or Thule has roof ski racks that will fit it.
  23. You probably didn't hear about the bankruptcy? It took GM longer to get it out because GM doesn't have BMW or Mercedes' deep pockets..
  24. Not sure if they are dealer options, but satin black seems popular in Europe on some Audis, Merc AMGs, etc.. Esp. in places w/ sloppy winters, low gloss/no gloss paint schemes would be great. I'd like an olive drab GC w/ black wheels.
  25. Best Bob Barker-related quote: Happy Gilmore: [to Bob Barker] The price is wrong, bitch.
