  1. How is the feel on different roads..smooth riding? Any harshness or NVH issues? Quiet?
  2. Cool...will have to rent one sometime. My last rental was a practical Ford Escape this past weekend in cold Ohio.
  3. Don't cattle create a lot of methane? Why aren't they fitted with catalytic converters of some sort?
  4. What surprises me is that they weren't in Canada already. Isn't the subcompact market in Canada a bigger % of the total market there than it is in the US?
  5. I've seen a few of the big Healeys in person, beautiful car..great, classic sports car proportions--long nose, short front overhang, low rear. I like the MGA of that era also..a buddy in high school had one.
  6. Supposedly, the iQ is coming as a Scion. And Toyota has a new subcompact hybrid (baby Prius) coming. But it seems the 2nd gen xB, XD, and Yaris are all chasing the B-seg market with not much differentiation.
  7. Saturn never tried to be cool..they just aimed for semi-dull, I think.
  8. Didn't take pictures. Would have been boring. Pics of lines in airports, gray skies, rain and snow.
  9. pollution ("Rock n Roll aint noise pollution")
  10. Bad enough. Would probably have to remove the fan shroud. Not to mention the hood struts need replaced, as the hood won't stay open. Easier just to take it to the shop and get it done.
  11. Replacing a serpentine belt is one thing I'd never attempt at home, I'd probably end up stabbing myself in the hand w/ a screwdriver... I need to take my Jeep in for an oil change and get the belt replaced soon.
  12. The 50s cars are too far before my time to really appeal to me, but there are a few designs that I like..the '53 Studebaker hardtop (really stood out compared to the dumpy, humpy designs that most of Detroit circa '53 had), the '53 Skylark (most beautiful early 50s GM IMHO), the '56 Lincoln MK II (so clean), some European models. I go against the mainstream in that I really don't care for the '49 Merc, esp. chopped customs. As far as owning old cars, there are many from the '60s-70s I could see myself having as a weekend toy, esp. the lower-longer-wider full size models..
  13. Well, at least it's not a disposable $h!box, like a Toyota..
  14. Ya...and you just don't see them around anymore. Maybe a nice one at the occasional car show, but about the only time I see any 3rd gen on a street it's a worn out beater. Newest are 18 years old, oldest are 28...
  15. I'm sure people are restoring the good ones..V8 IROC-Zs, Trans Ams, GTAs, etc. Not the common stuff.
  16. Yes, 3rd gen F bodies and GNs are old enough and uncommon enough that people are restoring them and preserving clean originals. Kind of old enough to have fallen out of used car status. Kind of like my Mustang...most GTs and LX 5.0s were used up in the '90s, trashed by the kiddies, modified w/ a bunch of aftermarket $h!. Mine is all original and preserved that way.
  17. Well, vehicles from the '90s and today have just 'used cars' status, not really old enough to be considered collector cars or get that kind of interest from people..
  18. Fun, fun
  19. Happy Festivus! As well as happy other holidays. Not looking forward to the weather and travel this weekend..flying out tommorow AM, back Sunday evening.
  20. Saw an absolutely totalled dark red '10 LaCrosse on a flatbed on the freeway, hit hard in the front, roof snipped and peeled back, temporary tag on the back.
  21. Nah, a cougar...was recently dating a guy 24 years younger...
  22. Probably 15 years ago something like this happened to my Dad..he was at the grocery in a small town in Ohio in his (now my) '69 Mustang, and the mayor of the town backed into the rear quarter panel, denting it and the rear bumper corner. The mayor conveniently owned a body shop, paid to straighten the quarter and replace the bumper. Both quarter panels had been replaced (along w/ the doors, front fenders, floors, rockers) about 10 years earlier in the resto.
  23. I give my sister a hard time for watching Logo occasionally...joking that she wants to become a lesbiterian after 3 divorces...
  24. I do wonder why Golden Girls was picked, compared to Queer as Folk or The L-Word. I think I've only seen a couple episodes of GG years ago, don't recall any characters as necessarily gay, some older women living together in the Miami area?
  25. Another step in getting out of AZ in '10 fell into place last week.
