  1. Well, a rebody and interior upgrade..doesn't sound like any of the panels will be carried over. The description in the above article jibes w/ what Allpar has...they have some artist's illustrations that fit the descriptions pretty well..Dodge truck grille, unfortunately. 2011 Dodge Charger?
  2. Well, Jaguar is a European company, and (no surprise) they have been selling cars in Europe for decades. GM has been selling Cadillacs in Europe for less than a decade...
  3. Haven't seen a Sterling in ages (many years). I remember liking the 5dr hatchback version back in the day. Recent sightings: A sharp light blue customized early '80s Chevy stepside pickup w/ a custom rear rollpan and round '50s style taillights set into the rear fenders, tube grille, front rollpan. 20 inch or so wire wheels. Saw a black CTS wagon on the freeway this morning, first one I've seen on the road and only the 2nd one I've seen (other was at an auto show). Sweet...
  4. Qatar (pronounced 'cutter' by the media)
  5. Regular vinyl tops probably went away w/ the '90 redesign. I don't recall seeing any '90-97 style ones with full vinyl tops. Some had the padded 1/2 tops and carriage roof tops. I've always liked the styling of the '90-97 TCs. Didn't care for the '98-02, w/ the odd tiny grille and odd headlights. The '03 update that is still around looks a lot better, IMHO. Likewise w/ the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis, AFAIK they offered regular vinyl tops throughout the square Panther era ('79-91). That brochures site is pretty cool..will have to explore it some.
  6. Winter is here...came out this morning, car windows frosted over, frost on the grass...mid 30s in PHX. Cold.
  7. It's been updated for the XF which replaced the S-Type. Plus, the DEW98 had better suspension (the Mustang has Mac struts in front and a live rear axle). They cheapified the suspension for DC2.
  8. I need to call my Mom and see how things are in E. Ohio..tried calling this morning, but the phone just kept ringing..usually a sign the power is out. As I guessed, power outages this morning back in the old home world... Power Outages Tuscarawas County Ohio
  9. Yeah, I don't think they've had a factory vinyl top since the '80s. My Dad's '84 and '87 had the factory 1/2 padded tops as part of the Cartier or other package, IIRC. His '91 and '96 didn't have them.
  10. Not the padded 1/2 tops or cloth tops, but a factory option vinyl top? Last model to offer one? Last GM model to offer one?
  11. Getting much snow in Minn this week?
  12. +1. That worked from me, along w/ practicing snowy driving on backroads w/ no traffic. I managed learned winter driving as a teenager in FWD ('84 Ford Escort), RWD ('86 Ford Mustang w/ 4 snow tires), and 4x4 ('79 Dodge Power Wagon).

    Hmmm

107k is the lowest at my place currently, w/ my sister's Mercedes at 114k (the dead one) and 175(180+)k miles. Problem is the odometers are not working on the Mercs. Hopefully, my sister will get rid of them next year and get a new car. Damn money pits.
  14. I saw an '78-79 Monte Carlo w/ a plow in Ohio years ago. Dented and rusty, brown as most '78-79s were, plastic front bumper and grille gone w/ the plow attached directly to the frame, apparently.
  15. Go for a Tundra, or a T100 if you want a classic.
  16. Another bug I noticed..when you enter the forums, it says 'Todays Top Posters'..it shows me at 24, but this is only the second post I've made today. Maybe I did 24 yesterday, but not today. Maybe the a related bug to the mark up/down quota problem.
  17. Seems how the timing on the quotas are determined doesn't work well. I just tried to vote up one post and got a message "You've used your quota for positive for today" or some similar. That is incorrect, an invalid response--it was the first one I tried to mark today. I marked several yesterday...it probably doesn't account for time zones, since 10pm here is midnight EST.
  18. Yes, they were sold here for a few years. Probably most in the Midwest and East rusted away. I've probably seen 5 in the last 30 years, incl.the 2 that come to the Denver Concours de Elegance show every June. Old Italian cars are pretty interesting, I used to go to an Italian marque-only car show every year in Denver. One guy I remember remarked one year when it was raining at the show that he was glad his car wasn't British, that it *might* start in the rain. One car I've always liked from the pics and have seen only 1 in person is the Alfa Romeo Montreal--pretty unique style.
  19. They were sold in the US in the mid 70s. There is one in the next neighborhood south of mine, I see it out and about once in a while...pretty worn out, with 30+ years of AZ sun, probably...it's a faded red-orange w/ the big ugly black US spec bumpers. Neat '70s Italian styling, probably unfortunate period Italian quality.
  20. Happy Birthday!

    Hmmm

It's 14 years old, that's less than 10k/year, so that is pretty low.
  22. Speaking of green colors, there is a color I've tried before to identify--it was an incredible metallic olive-lime green that I saw on an Avalanche maybe five years ago. Looked incredible in the early morning sunlight. Would love to see the new Camaro in this color. Got to find a pic of it. Wasn't very yellowish, but bright.
  23. Nice color. Different enough from the teals that were overexposed in the '90s, IMHO.
  24. Before I moved to Michigan and 4WD, I drove 6 Ohio winters mostly in RWD cars...I put snow tires on all four corners (rear alone is not enough) and 50lbs of Quickcrete concrete mix in the trunk. (E. Ohio is quite hilly, not flat like the central and western part of the state).
