  1. Or since he's going to Europe, a nice new Opel Agila..
  2. Ah, she'd take your arm off..those little Aussies are tough dogs..10 pounds of terror..and they like Holdens..
  3. If I was limited in choice to only a Camry or a W-body, I'd rather drive the Camry..Ws are just too depressing.
  4. Zap Cars is also importing Chinese electric cars, such as the lovely Xebra Xero.. I sat in one at the auto show a few months ago..strange little vehicles. Zap Xebra Xero
  5. Wow...a W-body in Europe. Interesting...probably be the only one there...and how will you get it serviced there?
  6. The 20th century has been called the 'American Century', the 21st is the century of the big decline of the US...the downward spiral. The question is how far off is the end of the road?
  7. Since they are assembled in San Antonio, how about a Tundra 'Don't Mess With Texas' edition, with big Texas flag logo decals and steerhorns on the hood? And how about a Camry Kentucky Derby edition, to celebrate their Kentucky heritage?
  8. The tattoos are a total turn off for me...ughhh...
  9. Same here... I love a manual for a weekend toy for driving on twisty backroads, but in the Real World <tm> of the daily commute, with traffic lights, congested freeways, etc. I prefer an automatic.
  10. I'm still a fan of deep blue and silver (my current car colors)... I'm leaning toward a dark metallic red or maroon for my next car. I've done dark gray, gold and bright red in the past, would probably do dark gray again, but not bright red.
  11. True...I've been doing it myself for a couple of years now..I have a Wahl clipper w/ a bunch of attachments for different length, etc but I mostly use my Norelco 3-head shaver. Once in a while when I'm feeling brave I'll use a manual razor and shaving cream to get it smooth all over, but I mostly hit it every couple of days with the Norelco to keep it pretty short.
  12. I'm hoping a new President brings hope to our companies and our country... things don't look too good out there these days...
  13. Keep in mind it is August numbers... isn't Aug not a traditionally high volume month?
  14. Congrats, 68! Best wishes for your future together.
  15. The gray and terra cotta two tone leather interior is interesting...I don't think an American car has had an interior color scheme like that since the '50s.
  16. 'Snakes and Arrows'..new Rush CD.
  17. Livorno (where he was born)
  18. My previous company when it was small had a company softball team..I played on it two years...great fun.
  19. Hmmm...112.3 in wheelbase..isn't that longer than some of the W-bodies were? And I think the first of the downsized FWD full-sizers (1985 C-bodies, 1986 H-bodies) were in that range, weren't they? Interesting...
  20. Huge wheel well gaps are a long time GM tradition, to leave room for tire chains, or so I've read...
  21. Ah..so that's what battery protection is... my Jeep has that, the interior and exterior lights will go off after a few minutes if left on. With the Impala, wouldn't the automatic lights have to be set in the automatic position instead of off to work? I remember specifically turning the lights on..and remember, Avis rentals tend to be not loaded, so maybe it didn't have the auto lights. With the Infiniti, maybe the lights were set to off..at least w/ my Jeep, if the lights are turned to off, they don't automatically come on..they have to be in the automatic position.
  22. Battery protection?
  23. Anyone know if the Cutlass convertible was offered with a manual? A buddy of mine has a '95 w/automatic...red w/ white interior. It's a neat car, probably the most distinctive of the W-bodies.
  24. Apparently at one time Orange County was full of bible thumpers...it seems like they all moved to Colorado Springs in the '90s.. Outside of the major metro areas, there are vast parts of 'middle America' I avoid...too many conservatives, gun nuts, and bible thumpers for my tastes..but I do like metro Denver, Chicago, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, areas I've spent considerable time in..
  25. I've seen people w/ DRLs driving around w/ the lights off at night. That got me one time..I had an '04 Impala rental car and got in it early in the morning (5am) and drove off, didn't realize for a while that the lights weren't fully on (the DRLs operated the low beams but not the taillights). My Jeep has the automatic lights, so I'm used to them coming on automatically.
