  1. I turned it off because I was going on vacation myself and wanted to stop the misuse of the voting system. I just wanted to have a relaxing vacation. Understandable, So where'd you go for vacation?? Boulder Colorado.
  2. Much like Olds and other posters, I have nothing against Ford (or FCA for that matter), I generally like their products. You just tend to bring out the worst in everyone, not sure how you still can't see that after repeated bans at MT. Ahhh yes, the ban card is played as a way to ignore my point about hypocrisy. Wings....its not only a ban from MT Forums... You cried to the mods once....they up voted my down votes... You cried to the mods twice...they fixed your downvotes a second time... You cried to the mods thrice...they removed th downvote system... I found this hilarous actually. I went on vacation and came back and I thought my phone just was being a dick. Come to find out that it had to be turned off?!?! That's today's society.. Gotta make everybody happy because one person unhappy... 3. It's a different engine family... not a new generation. SGE - 1.0 - 1.5 liters replaces the Family 0 and some of the smaller Family 1 engines. MGE - 1.6 liters in two power tunes replaces the 1.6 and 1.8 Family 1 engines. (Could, in theory, replace the 2.4 and 2.5 in some applications, but hasn't yet) GenIII Ecotec - 2.0T, 2.5 - replaces the previous 2.0T, 2.2, and 2.4 Gen II ecotec Not sure I'm following you, so sorry if I misinterpret. GM is currently releasing a brand new direct-injected 1.0L-1.5L engine family. The 1.4T in the current Sonic, Cruze, and Trax/Encore is being discontinued in favor of a completely new 1.4T DI engine, the Spark is getting a new engine from this family, and the 1.5T DI in the upcoming Malibu is also brand new. I will be shocked if the 1.6T DI sees any new vehicle applications in the US beyond the Cascada, which isn't actually new. You are correct up until the last bit. The 1.6T is a new engine family just as the 1.0 - 1.5T is a new engine family... but they are different families. The 1.6T family is only one year older than the 1.0 - 1.5T family. The 1.6T could show up anywhere the current 2.4 or 2.5 sit when the car needs more torque than the 1.5T is capable of. Think next-gen Equinox and Terrain. Think sub-SRX Cadillac crossover. There are apparently two additional Buick crossovers in the works. It would make a good base engine for the Regal (221 lb-ft at 1650-4250 rpm) and a fantastic top-range engine for the Verano (the next generation of which has lost a good bit of weight). The Eco version of the 1.6T (162hp/191 lb-ft of torque) is already used in the Insignia.
  4. Again... the Camaro is on a model change over at the end of a generation.
  5. Okay... so now you're trolling. Knock it off. Cadillac ATP are way way up and they can't build enough Escalades to meet demand... they've announced a huge expansion of Arlington to try and cope.
  6. The 1.6T is a previous gen engine design, it's not going into any new cars unless you count the US-market Cascada as "new." IMO the Regal should get the 2.0T/8-speed standard at full power if they're going to charge $30,000+ to start. Buick cars need to move upmarket away from Chevrolet since Cadillac is working to discontinue the XTS. There's plenty of room for FWD-based luxury, they can't have the Malibu catching up to the Regal. no, the 1.6T he is referring to is the current generation. It is replacing the previous 1.6. The new engine family only goes up to 1.5L because of displacement regulations in Europe. You're not going to see the 1.6T used in the new Regal. 8. My test with the Volt was in winter time and it was fantastic. Just schlepping around town and plugging it in at night I got something like 700mpg since I never used the gas. I have a garage, so plugging it in wasn't an issue... pull in, close the door, pop the plug cover, plug it in, go inside. The great thing (possibly my favorite thing) about the Volt was the ability to turn it on remotely and have it pre-heat itself off of house current even with the garage door closed.
  9. MPG in the Volt is a lot more "your mileage may vary" than standard gas cars. It greatly depends on the terrain and driving style. Heading east bound on the Penna TPK end to end, you can get into the 70+mpg range. Heading westbound you'll just get EPA rating. Why? Because the Volt can effectively re-fuel on the downhill stretches and use that for the uphill. Eastbound there is more downhill than uphill, so the Volt spends a lot more time regenerating its batteries via the car's inertia rather than the gas engine. Because it has more battery capacity and power than a regular hybrid, the Volt gets to take greater advantage of the downward momentum. Regular hybrids like the Fusion or Pruis can have their batteries recharged rather quickly on the downhill sections, and once those batteries are full, the excess energy is wasted as heat. The 42mpg EPA rating is actually a bit of a disservice to the Volt since the actual results can vary so widely.... it needs to be more of a range of efficiency rather than a single number.
  10. For all of 8 months, during a Camaro model change over, after years of Camaro dominating Mustang. *golf clap*
  11. The issues Lincoln has, has little to do with the chassis and everything to do with all of the other stuff.... 1. Engines 2. Materials used 3. Build quality 4. Infotainment system (worst of all the systems I've experienced) They all need to be improved before the chassis is even worried about.
  12. Would you know if International Series Cutlas Ciera 4 doors came with a 3800? Or was it only for 2 door coupes? I dont remember seeing any 2 door International Series Cieras, but plenty 4 door sedans. According to the other page of that brochure I found, it looks like the 3800 is standard in the International Series You'll have to zoom in to see the txt
  13. V6. I figured that was a typo. And we'll see Cadillac coupes, convertibles, diesels, hybrids, etc, etc in the future. The other guys have it now though, and Cadillac used the same arguments in 2003 how rear wheel drive was coming, then a longitude mount Northstar was coming, 6-speed autos were coming, etc. They have been in catch up mode for years. So the question is will they ever really catch up. V-eight. the V6 was a typo. Cadillac's President Reminds Us A New Cadillac V8 Is Coming
  14. I don't think they will do a 500 hp v6, they'll let the v8 take that spot.
  15. Do try to pay attention to the articles we write. JDN has already announced a twin turbo V8 and the time line it would appear in the CT6. The only thing that hasn't been announced is the specs, but even at 4.0 liters, it would be around 533 horsepower.
  16. We will see a 500+ horsepower V6 in the 2017 calendar year, basically 18 months after initial on-sale date. BMW, Benz, and Audi stagger their engine launches too so don't give me any "Why isn't it available at launch" crap.
  17. CTS - 2.0T, 3.6, 3.6TT, 6.2 S/C CT6 - 2.0T, 2.0TH, 3.6, 3.0TT and 4.0ishTT coming for 2018 So yes... they're basically twins in the engine lineup... except where they're not.
  18. Late 80s Cutlass Cierra International Coupe. 2-tone black with gray lower body cladding. From 40 feet, it looked to be a museum piece. These are 3800 powered which was a good lot of engine for the day for such a lightweight car. In this configuration, it is a rather rare piece though not worth much monetarily.
  19. My crv just pissed oil all over the driveway. The last oil change was 3 weeks ago. It looks like a bad oil filter seal. The filter was on so tight I had to get a wrench to get it off. Put a new filter on and filed it back up with mobile one and put cardboard under it to watch for more leaks.
  20. I could see the XTS going livery only soon.
  21. From the Cadillac press release on the CT6
  22. Engines aren't mutually exclusive. More choices for consumers is a good thing. Who cares if the 2.0T is the base engine as long as the 2.0TH, 3.6, 3.0TT and 4.0TT are options? I'm not going to tell Cadillac they shouldn't offer a certain engine just because it isn't the engine I would chose. What an absurd idea.
  23. Because 260 horsepower is sufficient for most people.... in fact, 180hp is sufficient for most people or else the Camry, Accord, and Altima wouldn't sell with a 75%+ take rate on the 4-cylinder models. The 2.0T is fine as a base engine in the CT6 because it weighs less than a 335xi in spite of being substantially larger. The eAssist Lacrosse is actually there for the traditional buyers who liked the frugality of the 3800 and don't care about 0-60 times. The 2.5 in the ATS is about the same horsepower rating as its competition and it gets the ATS in at a lower base price. But you already know all of this because you've been told it many times. You have to get over yourself. Not everyone has the same need for speed that you do.
  24. Just do a second coat with spray tanner.
