  1. Holy crap!
  2. My 2001 Cavalier: ~55,000 My wife's 2006 Ford Escape: ~1,800
  3. Its too bad the G6 interior is so lousy. The convertible would be such a cool car and would outclass the competition if only the interior was merely par for the course.
  4. I just can't stand their reviews. I see their photo and I can't get past the fact that they're probably chatting over their review in a damned Starbucks like a couple of uptown yuppies. And if there was a GMC or Chevy badge on it, it would be deemed ugly and out of touch with consumers by the Lienerts I'd imagine, and a 21/24 fuel economy rating wouldn't be "fairly good," but likely "terrible," "horrible," or "uncompetitive."
  5. BTW, is that the first picture of a Tahoe with bench seats anyone's seen? Took me a second to figure out what was different. But man, thats a GOOD looking interior. Is the headliner finally woven in the Tahoe, or is it the same mouse fur liner?
  6. A base level Tahoe won't be used for the worky kind of stuff a base level pickup would. GMs not going to waste plastiluminum trim in an interior thats going to get kicked, hit, tossed around, and what have you on a job site. Doesn't make since. You also have to remember that even the LS trim Tahoe is 33 grande. I doubt 1500HD model Silverado will be close to that.
  7. Have you considered an Audi A3? Same engine as the A4, but its a bit smaller and less expensive. 4 grande less, in fact.
  8. I've seen three so far. One on I-75, one here in Lexington, and one last week at Thunder Over Louisville. Saw a black Solstice last night, GOD its so HAWT!
  9. Thanks for reminding me that damn car is built right up the road...
  10. Its going to be interesting to see what happens to Toyota quality as their output gets higher and higher. Speaking of refreshes, does Toyota make a habit of refreshing a car and not telling anyone? Was anyone else aware of the refresh to the 06 Sienna and Highlander before they went on sale?
  11. People designing competitive and soulful cars are needed, not line workers making 35+ an hour. Simple as that.
  12. Likely a Mazda 3 5-door, maybe Mazdaspeed 3 if the price is no more than $24k.
  13. Its an easy fix though, which is why it was brought up. And quality of materials in the Aura interior isn't an issue (yet), its the design that is pure BS.
  14. Zero. Only new car we've ever owned, we being my wife and I, is our 06 Escape. Though when I go to replace my 01 Cavalier, it likely won't be a GM, since I get a sweet discount on Fords through CompUSA. CompUSA is a fleet partner with Ford, in case you're wondering. I get Fords, Lincolns, Mercury's, and Mazda's at factory invoice. Volvos, Jags, and Land Rovers and a few percentages above factory invoice. We got our 06 Escape XLT for $24k, it stickered for $27.
  15. Basically, this is a spinoff of the car spotting thread. Whereas in it, we include the newest vehicles going on sale that we've started to see, here we talk about vehicles that we've only seen a few of over our lifetime. These are posted in the normal car spotting thread, too, but are generally overlooked. And since they can sometimes be interesting, I think they deserve their own thread. My rare cars are a white Triumph TR7, I actually had to look it up when I saw it, I didn't know what it was. I've seen one red Ferrari 360 Modena heading down the historic district here in Lexington. Two Bentley Continental GTs. Domestics would include the last gen Olds Toronado, of which I've only seen...2? Maybe 3, the most recent out in Louisville. I've seen one 70 Boss Mustang, was HAWT! Black and red two-tone. Uh...what else? Ah, seen a couple of Cadillac Allante's, pretty cool. Hmm...thats it for now, I'll post more as I think of them.
  16. When are people going to realize and accept that fact that the US is no longer standing on the back of industry? How many tens of thousands of low-skill jobs have already been sent overseas? Did the economy or nation even bat an eye? No. Why? Because it doesn't matter. Its called the information age, where high-skill jobs (eg, healthcare) and technology (eg, network administration, IT) jobs fuel the country. If your job can be done overseas cheaper and as well as it can be done here, it will be because a company's job is to make money, not keep the country employed.
  17. Yeah, I'd have to see them in person to be able to get the color combinations right.
  18. Totally boring and forgettable, inside and out. Destroyed stylistically by the new and even current G35, and blown out of the water by the 08 CTS. Ultimate Driving Machine or not, in this segment it should still evoke some kind of feelings other than...*yawn* Is it my bedtime?
  19. Saw one running around my neighborhood about 2 weeks ago. Saw that white Triumph TR7 again this morning, he must live somewhere close to my apartment.
  20. I'm more curious as to the interior treatment. Probably identical to the Canadian Pursuit, which is just the Sport Trim Cobalt interior with red gauges.
  21. Red lettering with blue needles for Pontiac. Some orange-yellowish trim would be good. Green-blue lettering with yellow needles for Buick. Some bright-green trim as well. Chevrolet could be a light blue with green needles and dark-blue trim. Cadillac would be bright, royal blue lettering with white trim and red needles. GMC would be darker green lettering, orange needles, lighter green trim. Hummer would be yellowish lettering, blue needles, light-blue trim.
  22. I do absolutely LOVE the way the guages light up.
  23. Plastichrome on grill surround bubbling on a car thats no more than a few months old, interior design and quality that epitomize everything wrong with GM, and styling that dates back 6 years... What more needs to be said?
  24. Am I right in assuming that GMs losses in the past year and a half were pretty much unstoppable by the time Lutz came on board? And, evok, if you are privvy to GMs "Return to Greatness" strategy, does it seem viable or do you think its too little too late? Or are you just playing a wait and see game right now?
  25. I really didn't have THAT low of an opinion of the 06 Monte until I saw that one with the bubbling chrome plastic on the grill surround.
