    Alcohol!!!

I've got a weird collection of cheap booze in my home office mini-fridge. There are some bottles of Bud Light, some Smirnoff Ice Wild Grape and some Michelob Lager. I just found out that Ruby Tuesday sells Yuengling (which I've heard is fantastic) so I'm going to give it a shot.
  2. I hauled ass through a parking lot to park next to a Pontiac Safari.

    Alcohol!!!

Alright alcoholics, booze hounds, bums, winos and frat boys, we need an alcohol thread, it just seems like the perfect compliment to our sex thread. I'll start: The $3 bottles of wine they sell at Wal-Mart suck majorly. So whats your drink of choice? What do you avoid like the plague?
  4. As I said earlier, this seems to be more of a generational/environmental issue. I dont think I have ever heard anyone my age (24) complain about having to press "1" for English because its been going on most of our lives. We also tend to be more accepting of people who dont speak English, or dont speak it well, because we've grown up with them, unlike older generations that grew up in more homogeneous environments. In 20-30 years this whole "national language" issue will be a dead one.
  5. So we can make ugly people less ugly on paper, so to speak? Whoopty-doo
  6. I can read and comprehend (as long as the speaker isn't speaking really fast) but I cant speak it at all. Just the quirkiness that is my brain.
  7. We went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch, and the menu was entirely in Spanish. The nerve.
  8. I'm pretty sure its broken, its all swollen and weird looking and it hurts like hell. On the bright side, my kid can deliver one vicious headbutt.
  9. Apparently "white fudge covered Oreo" is now a racial slur.
  10. I think he just broke my nose. Thats it, he's never getting sugar again.
  11. I certainly wouldn't finance one through GMAC or FMC. The reason sales would drop is that people believe that a company going under wont offer support, their 5-year/60,000 mile warranty may not be good longer than 6 months. Also, they would tie bankruptcy to diminished R&D funding, which makes them see the car as being inferior to a non-bankrupt company.
  12. *Ba-dum-cha* Since our financial agreement is to make non-essential purchases (though apparently two weeks in Florida is essential ) cash-neutral it would be difficult for me to buy this without giving something up. I've got some money saved up to get a new computer, if I dipped into that, I'd still be short, and that isn't taking into consideration the money I'd have to put into making it roadworthy. If its been sitting outside for 2-3 years, its been through countless snowstorms, thunderstorms (we get a lot of hail for some reason) and two major ice storms. Who knows what it looks like inside or underneath. The free storage space available to me will be gone next May when my friend gets re-married and the extra spot is taken up by a Blazer.
  13. There aren't nearly enough ads on that car. No wonder Hudson went out of business.
  14. Groovy (thats my word of the day)
  15. I was thinking it would look great in that weird periwinkle color every other E46 BMW ('98-04 3-Series for non-douchebags) seems to be afflicted with. Maybe with some bright yellow flames and red racing stripes.
  16. I think I speak for everyone when I say congrats 68, I wish you and your family all the best.
  17. Trust me, if I had the spare cash, I would. Alas, money is tied up in other things, though I do have a place I could store such a car. Maybe I can hunt down more people who still owe me money.....
  18. Linkypoo Yo quiero.
  19. I made a joke the other day about wanting a Dukakis sticker for my Buick, since it was built in '88. A McGovern/Eagleton sticker would also be a nifty piece to have.
  20. How long is too long a time to leave a political yard sign up? Or to keep a bumper sticker for a particular candidate or issue on your car? It seems that most yard signs were pulled down the day after the election around here, but there are still stragglers, like the people up the street who continue to display a sign for a candidate who lost on Tuesday. I only had one yard sign ('twas in reference to a proposition, not a candidate) and I pulled it out Wednesday morning. My car had one bumper sticker (for a candidate who was elected) and that was taken off last night. The other car has so many bumper stickers (for just about everything imaginable) that someone behind it at a stop light cant tell what color it is. Back to my original question, how long is too long? I still see "W '04" stickers, and even see one car with a "Kerry '04" around town, that seems quite excessive on both sides.
  21. We had that nice weather earlier in the week, now its more fall-like, 50's and windy.
  22. Young and dumb The two best qualities a woman can have
  23. Anne Hathaway has done nude scenes in a couple of movies, including Brokeback Mountain.
