10 debates is way too much, people will tune out. The slander war would at least keep the election on the periphery of voters minds, endless debates would make them tune out entirely. Same reason football is more popular than baseball, baseball has 162 games, and takes around 8 months (from Spring Training through the World Series) while football teams play 16 games and the full season takes a couple months less.

Obama set a monthly donation record in August, the numbers haven't been officially released yet. And who the hell wants to watch 10 debates? I do think they should have done at least one more, but no more than 5 debates for the presidential nominees, stick with one for the vps, because they dont really matter.

I'm just waiting to see what other dirty tricks McCain pulls out. There are going to be thousands of voters who request an absentee ballot using the form his campaign mailed out, but wont get one because of a little box that can be overlooked. Thats flat out disenfranchisement, as bad as anything pro-Bushies did in Ohio in '04 and Florida in '00. We need to get the Karl Roves out of politics so we can have an honest election where people vote based on the issues. The cheap tricks suck, McCain knows that better than anyone. Seriously the days of "Would you be more or less likely to vote for John McCain...if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?" need to end. It would behoove McCain to abandon these practices, it will make him seem less petty.

I was out somewhere today and there was a guy talking on a cell phone (shocking!) but he was speaking Spanish. I wanted to punch him in the face, drive to the border and throw him back over, because that was totally threatening my way of life, who knows what he could have been talking about. Maybe he was telling his foreign friends how to cross into the states. Or making a joke about how he stole a job as a construction worker from the throngs of white people wanted. Maybe he was saying that he wanted to kill me and cook my intestines into a gordita then chase that with Sangria spiked with my blood, and follow it all with a nice churro.

So a governer is supposed to keep tabs on what every state trooper is doing at home, because it may impact what they may do at work? She had no reason, as governer, to get involved. If the officer in question hadn't been her sister's estranged husband, she probably wouldn't have even known what was going on. Abuse of power.

For once, I'm not going to completely bash Chrysler, just going to bitch for a minute. I want a Wrangler, have for years, I've been going through all the scenarios that will permit me to buy a new one next spring, and weighing possible other purchases, the FJ Cruiser when talking new, and a number of small, convertible SUVs when talking used. An Amigo would be my first choice, but I have a soft spot for the Tracker/Sidekick and would think hard about a RAV4 or Sportage vert. Back to the Wrangler, specifically where Jeep is going to lose my sale. Jeep offers 3 models of the Wrangler 2-door, the X, Sahara and Rubicon. MyGig is a must, and its only available on the top two models. I hate the looks of the Sahara, the body colored fenders just dont look right. The Sahara also isn't available in white (at least according to Jeep's website) and thats my favorite color. That leaves me to either an X (without MyGig or the better looking 18" wheels of the Sahara) or a Rubicon (with all the superfluous off-road gear I dont want and dont want to pay for). If I could just get a white Sahara with black fender flares, I'd be sold.

Compared to your Century, the 190hp in a 4cyl Accord will feel like 300hp.

Try an EX, the V6 is nice but Honda 4cyls are always smooth and have plenty of pep. If I were going to buy tomorrow, I'd get an EX in white with the stick.

You would think that McCain would have taken things he has said recently into consideration when picking a VP, he could have at least downplayed soundbites like this.. Its based on the most recent state polls. But I dont think McCain is going to be able to win all the swing states.

That wont happen, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact has been signed into law by at least 4 sure-blue states. If McCain wins the national popular vote (and the subsequent lawsuits are shot down) he'll get the electoral vots of Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland and Hawaii.

And Gallup has a listing of candidate support by region and it looks like those national polls that put McCain ahead are the result of a bump in the south, where Obama doesn't have a chance to win.
