  1. I heard Edmund Insideline reported that the GM will drop Pontiac soon. I HOPE that is true unless they kill off ALL the imports. I was NEVER a fan of that Aussie trash Holden GTO, and Holden G8(Sorry, GTO and G8 fans), Stupid and lame Daewoo junks by the name of LeMans, and the Toyota garbage Vibe, not to mention the lazy rebadge of the Chevy trash Torrent and G5 wastes. If Pontiac will keep this up consisting nothing but imports and blatent re-badge of only the name and the grille from those stupid looking chevy's, I WANT Pontiac to close down indefinately. Don't get me wrong, I was once a Pontiac fan, when all they had were TRUE domestics that were designed and built in either US, and to some extent borders of Canada, but now, these clowns are killing off all the North American goodies in place of the lame imports just rebadging them and change the grille to Pontiac. I don't care how good these Holdens are, and I know they are good cars, I will give you that, but to me, they are NOT Pontiac, and it should NEVER be considerred as a Pontiac. It should be sold as NOTHING other than Holden name. Nothing else. The Vibes should also go BACK to Toyota instead. I want the AMERICAN MADE cars like Grand Am/G6, Grand Prix, Firebird, Solstice, and Bonniville to remain in their line up no matter how good or bad they are. No matter if they change to RWD or not. Heck, I rather prefer the Aztek(though I know it's least loved due to its 'DIFFERENT' styling) over that lame Chevy re-badge Torrent. I don't care if they sell these Aussie Holden's as Pontiac as long as they DON'T kill these AMERICAN cars ALONGSIDE it. If they keep selling these imports while KILLING the TRUE NORTH AMERICAN Pontiacs that are NOT rebadge in place of it, then I HOPE they kill off Pontiac instead of making them as nothing more than an import seller. That's my point of view, I am sure every one of you will hate me for that and will flame me saying I am childish, or attack me saying I don't know sh*t about automobile marketting, or even calling me crazy, arrogant SOB or whatever, but that is my opinion. And since these message boards are meant to share opinions and what not, that's what I am doing. Thanx.
  2. I really miss Bonnevilles. Maybe I'm the only one, but to me, it's really a great car to be made in North America. When I went to the dealer for the 6,000 mile service for my Grand Prix, I saw a couple of last generation Bonnevilles parked in front for a service as well. I peeked inside and fell in love. I know they were the customer's cars, I kept thinking that why it had to die, oh, just why....... It is really a great car well deserving to take place as Pontiac's flagship model. Shame they had to kill it. G8 to me, in my opinion, since it's an overseas import, does not have the right to take Pontiac's flagship status. I know, I am the only one, since EVERYONE of you have the lust for this stupid looking Aussie stuff. I still love my 08 Grand Prix, but in about 10 years, if they bring back the Bonniville, only if it is not some stupid Aussie made rebadged trash as a Bonniville then, I may return to GM. I really miss the Bonniville to be displayed in the showroom. I am not sure if that day will come or not, but....
  3. Good Riddance. I would LOVE to see that stupid Holden G8 to die, cause I never liked the idea of importing the rebadged Aussie sedan to a Pontiac in the first place, unless it sold ALONGSIDE the Grand Prix(NEVER TO BE KILLED), and no offense. I would rather see Pontiac die than to see G8 continues to be made in outside of North America. I want to see Pontiac close down unless they go BACK to the North AMERICAN only brand. No Korean, No Japanese, No Aussie rebadges. Not even Chevy rebadges. I already left GM for any of their future nonsence since they failed Pontiac. Sorry G8 lovers.
  4. Actually, I don't really trust JD Power ratings. I know, I am like the only one. But, reason being is my familie's own experience. Back in 1987, JD Power rated Buick LeSabre as one of the most troublefree car for 3 Months evaluations. My father actually bought that year brand new 87 LeSabre, but after about couple weeks, it was plaqued with minor problems here and there that forced him to make a trip to the dealer for an unscheduled repaires. It even failed to start one day, and once while we were on the road even. At least the problems died down after a while, but in the beginning, it was just HORRIBLE. Same thing goes to my mother's Volvo 850. I know, Volvo is known for their reliability, but to us, it wasn't the case. It had created whole bunch of electrical problems, and most of them the dealer could not take care of at the first try. So many I can write a book about. I don't trust the J.D.Powers ratings, and I solely go with the luck of the new car I buy. Sure, the percentage can be factor, but just because a car have been picked as the most reliable by J.D.Powers, doesn't mean it's the most troublefree. You have to have some kinda luck with the car you buy, just I have with all 3 Pontiacs I have owned, which all did poorly on the J.D.Power ratings, but has been troublefree for me for as long as I had the car. For the 2 previous Pontiacs, even with the number of accidents I had, the cars withstood that fact and stayed with me with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. Well, that's my 2 cents.
  5. so.... will this close tonight or will it be extended? though I think we need a few more.
  6. Hero is.... well, pretty good name for a car. It's heck of a lot better than what Pontiac is using these days, that lame G nomenclatures, but I don't think the name really goes with the kind of car you have there. Well, that's what I think.
  7. To tell you the truth, I will rather buy that ultra small Smart over this Korean chevy junk re-badged as Pontiac. At least with a smart, you get the look, safety, and gas mileage, which you DON'T get on this crap. It's a bad move by GM. Well, I guess, you can say it's a success to the direction they are headed. Killing of the Pontiac brand.
  8. Since I left GM already since the current Pontiacs(once, my only favorite GM brand) are nothing more than Chevy crap re-badge and imports(with the exception of the Solstice, and current G6 that's to be replaced with another import soon), I just don't care if they closes or not. Surely, Pontiac and GM have succeeded in chasing me away from their future showrooms by killing all the 'DOMESTIC' masterpieces in place of the imported sh*ts and re-badged Chevy-crap leftovers. So, unless they bring back the AMERICAN made Grand Prix, Bonneville, even Firebird and GTO, I WANT them to close down, since I don't want to remember Pontiac as an import seller. Period. I just don't like what these clowns are doing these days pissing off of once a great brand that has heritage and history. I still think it was a mistake of killing Oldsmobile, and they are trying to REPEAT that same mistake again by shutting down Pontiac, so be it. I don't care anymore, since I already got my dream car that is a last breed of the true 'DOMESTIC' that was made in North America. Not some sh*tty Aussie import crap.
  9. Maybe Bob Lutz. Though it won't do much to change what these clowns are planning, even though Lutz DO answer your E-mail based on my experience.
  10. Definately NOT. I want the American Firebird to be the only car that gets the Firehawk name and I want it returned. Since the Camaro is comming back, it's only fair that the 'BIRD' returns as well. The G8 in the link will be better to be called 'HOLDEN' G8 SLP, rather than a Firehawk. It's an import for god's sakes, it doesn't DESERVE to be called a legendary name that Firebird once had. Period. God I hate imports.
  11. I already knew GM was planning to shut down Pontiac when they killed off Bonneville, changed their name schemes to the lame and lazy G nomenclature and when they asked Toyota for help, and replacing ALL of the model line-ups with imports(G8, GTO, Vibe) or Chevy re-badges(Torrent, G5). Now, they are planning to change one of the very few remaining REAL AMERICAN model G6 with ANOTHER holden junk from Australia, killing my Grand Prix(North American made), in place of that boring looking G8 from down under, and now, wants to repeat their mistake of importing a Daewoo sh*t they did in the past. I'd say they are proceeding with their gameplan and process in closing down of once a great brand synonymous for cheap performance and EXCITEMENT. To me, it was a mistake of killing off Oldsmobile, now, they are trying to repeat their mistake, rather than learning from it, by killing another, once great brand. About the only models that I call Pontiac these days are only limited to Solstice(I am eager to see the targa version), and the current G6(Which isn't a re-badge of the Chevy sh*t, or an import), now that the Grand Prix is dead. I call the G5 as Chevy G5, Torrent as Chevy Torrent, G8 as Holden G8, and Vibe as Toyota Vibe, cause that's what they are. Now, their new model will be Daewoo G3? What happened to the REAL Pontiac? Oh, that's right, there won't be, since Pontiac name will be no more soon....... To me, only cars that will give Pontiac the 60's and 70's glory will be North American designed and built cars like Bonneville, Grand Prix, GTO, or Firebird that isn't just a re-badged version of the Camaro but with sportier designs that they had before front and back, and the interior which were 'DIFFERENT' though the side design was identical. No other cars will do Pontiac justice. Not those import junks, or the Chevy re-badges from the recycle bins that Chevy have discarded the parts to, which seems like what Pontiacs are these days(besides Solstice and G6 that is, even though Solstice DOES use the recycled parts inside). Sorry for my long post and sorry if anyone found it to be irritating, but that's how I see it. I used to love Pontiacs, but not anymore, ever since I got my dream car that I wanted for so long that is not a piece of sh*t import from Autralia/Japan/Korea or a crappy Chevy junk rebadge, but a legitimate North American Heritage that IS Pontiac, which is all I care for now. Unless they bring back the names like Bonneville, Grand Prix, GTO, Firebird that is NOT an import from outside of North America or rebadge of any sort, that they ARE designed and built in North America, I don't care if Pontiac shuts down completely now. Now, I can care less. They had their chance, but they blew it. Bye Bye Pontiac, and Bye Bye GM, it's been fun doing business with you, my once loved AMERICAN brand.
  12. It's still a Daewoo trash. I would rather want to see American made T-1000, or Phoenix(this time, not a blatent Chevy re-badge) return than this another imported garbage.
  13. http://img371.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img031by8.jpg This is the only one you need. Simply use the picture button after the emoticons and paste that address on there and hit OK, and you are done.
  14. Hmm, upon looking at that pic, it seems Kia is doing the same thing as Hyundai did with their Genesis. Ripping off. This time, they pretty much COPIED the BMW 5-series front. Besides the new Kia grille, the first glance I get, is the ripped off Bimmer right off the bat. In some angles, it also look like a Genesis re-badge with a slightly thinner headlights and a different grille. Shame on you Kia.
  15. Nah, blatent Civic rip-off. Mr. Peter Schreyer should have done a better job then to copy off the Civic like this.
  16. It is believed to be Kia's version of Hyundai's Genesis. And, yeah, I do agree that Kia tries to differentiate itself from Hyundai, which is a good thing. After all, they WERE both competing seperate brand at first, before Kia got bankrupt and later bought in whole by Hyundai.
  17. Maybe it's just me, but I think the concept version, though the production model shown in that link is pretty close, was a lot more aggressive looking. Also, as a fan of Pontiac Aztek. I know, I know, it isn't really pretty, but to me, it's far better looking than that stupid looking RAV4, Honda Element(Yuk!!!) Scion xB, or xD, Daewoo Rezzo, or any number of more popular boxes from Japan. Nissan Cube is another one that I hate, which I think is 100X uglier than Aztek ever was. For the Soul, I think I like it, and that is saying a lot, for I absolutely don't care for anything that is imported, with the exception of the Europeans, and Canadians(since I myself drive Canadian and loves it and I don't really consider Canadians as import since it IS from North America). With the exception of the cheap looking wheels, el cheapo look alike door handles, and the steering wheel that look more like it's from a toy model car, the rest of the car looks pretty good. In fact, the Soul was the only Kia model I was anticipating to see comming. Btw, where is that laptop drawer found in the concept? Is it going to be option? Though It would have been nice if it kept the concepts' bit larger headlights with the big vents below the signals, smaller and thinner grille that make it look more aggressive, Larger Fog-lights inside the lower bumper vents instead of on the sides like it is now, and the suicide doors(that Kia admitted that will never become reality due to safety reasons), to me, the car looks to be the best looking Kia ever. I would prefer this over any Scion, Honda Element, or any other uglings, though I won't be in the new car market for anytime soon since I already got the car that I wanted for so long.
  18. Well, I just had this crazy idea as an OPTION package. I know, I know, it will NEVER work, but..... I may going to change that entry anyway later, if I manage to come out with the better done pic, so....
  19. Return of the Pontiac Sunbird. This time, NOT as a cheap, subcompact, but a compact(that is now, NOT a Chevy rebadge but a unique Pontiac design like Fiero was, even if it has to share the engine with other division) in Turbocharged RWD, in Coupe or Sedan variation. PONTIAC NIGHTHAWK (an inexpensive 4 seat sports car just above G5 and below G6 in starting price.)
  20. So, this finally started, and my, great work guys/gals. They are really great. My votes: 10 4 5
