Everybody, everywhere, is doing anything they can just to save a few pennies... even stable, solid companies companies are doing it... we haven't hit the bottom of this crisis yet and I think the expectation is for 2009 and 2010 to be really rough years...

It's getting really tough everywhere, not just the auto industry... everyone's looking for anything that saves cash right now... a sign this might be a long crisis and not some minor thing...

Sell Jeep to Renault-Nissan (perhaps adding the Dodge truck business), and leave the rest to GM (essentially the 11bn in cash, since the brands are of no value to GM) in exchange for the remaining 49% of GMAC?
