First look: Chev's Brazilian crossover
Yeah, I'd expect a 5-door vehicle in that segment. I've been wanting to see the final version of the MINI crossover, but if GM, Ford, FIAT, etc come up with interesting small crossovers I'll be taking a look at those as well.

Edmunds Review of the Opel Insignia
Reading that a doubt cam up in my mind re that LaCrosse mule wearing Swedish plates... it was the same length as an Insignia (give or take a cople of cm) as per the Swedish registration sheet that leaked... So will the LaCrosse be longer than the Insignia or the same size/wb? Or was that car wearing LaCrosse sheetmetal but testing stuff for the 9-5?.....

Political signs/bumper stickers
It'd be funny to see some Nixon ones I say that once the election is over it's time to remove them. If your side won, that's great; if your side lost, then deal with it and move on.

Detroit News: "GM will announce 'important changes'"
GM won't be allowed by the US government to go into bankruptcy. I think the US government will at least guarantee loans (or even pump fresh money directly) until the end of the year... GM has what? 100K people working in NA? No GM CEO and US President will want to preside over the demise of GM. What I hope is that this time around the money will be well spent.

Scary Quarterly Report
And Ford burned $7.7bn in cash during the quarter... And Chrysler is on the Cerberus dump-list, or at least it appears so from their desire to unload it in exchange for the remaining 49% of GMAC... This is getting uglier every day

GM says Chryler talks are off.
GM warned they may not have enough money to make it to the end of the year, so they better be watching liquidity...

Well, it's almost over
:rotflmao: and in case it wasn't better than what President Bush has been, you could always eat it, haha! Seriously, people who use the "muslim, socialist, racist, commie" arguments are just playing with people's ignorance... most people in America have absolutely no clue about what Socialism and Communism are (except for some Cold War memories), so if someone appears closer to what a European Social-Democrat is they start using the "socialist, commie" label to inflict fear into people... I just hope that the hate talk doesn't feed any right-wing dicks' idea of harming the man...

It's over: Obama wins
Well... she is a joke! An attractive joke, but still a joke. What surprised me in yesterday's elections was that the Democrats won Congress too... American voters usually like to spread their bets and keep some balance between Republicans and Democrats by electing a President from one party and giving the majority of seats in Congress to the other... Let's see how things change (or not) 2 years from now...

Detroit News: "GM will announce 'important changes'"
The issue with an OEM declaring bankruptcy is panic re warranties. People would think the company is tanking and would massively and suddenly go elsewhere. I hope these major changes are related to NA operations and a plan to conserve cash. idk what such a plan would translate to in practical terms, but I'm curious to know what the news are...

- It's over: Obama wins
Many of us outside of the US are happy with the American people's choice. Not only because of Mr. Obama, and not at all against Mr McCain, but especially because the prospect of Sarah Palin becoming US President in case something happened to Mr. McCain is now just like the faint memory of a distant nightmare...- Auf Wiedersehen

Glad he's doing better- The ending of globalization.
No globalization, no long-term sustainable economic growth, more unemployment....... IIRC it ws citibank that had an interesting report on the economic situation where the big ? was about protectionism or international trade collapse... that would throw us all in a deep Recession / Depression.- GM Staff Checking Over The New Buick Regal (PICS)
Toyota does it to some extent. IMO what GM does not understand is that they have a cash-bleeding cancer in their NA operations that was never taken care of. The truck/SUV-craze profits should have been used (a) to align capacity with demand in NA and (b) to have money flowing into the development of cars as a hedging strategy against a downturn in truck/SUV demand. GM just rode the profit wave and was not aggressive enough during the good times. Now that things are getting tougher, it's just easier to ask Washington for money and blame the politicians there if the NA operation goes down. 2 years ago I was quite optimistic re GM, now... well... not much so... so much potential wasted over the last 40 years... - It's over: Obama wins
