  1. A $2bn dollar annual cost saving (just as an example) can have a tremendous impact on valuation. It's not very hard to make a valuation model go from $0/share to $50/share, depending on how optimistic your projections are.
  2. I guess no did it yet, so I'll do it: *NOISY FARTS* Sorry, but I'm feeling like a little kid today...
  3. I knew it was Metallica the instant I saw the pics: the Vulturous Scary Guy thingy on the amps gave it away :AH-HA_wink: Good show?

  5. Hard to tell... GM and Ford collpasing would spread the disease to suppliers (who in many cases also supply their main competitors)... not to mention other economic impacts and how thaat would impact the car market as a whole... it's very hard to picture what would come out of a GM and Ford collapse but it wouldn't be pretty for the whole industry...

    GM stock

I did a little Valuation exercise of GM stock before I moved South and it was between $0 (with not-so-pessimistic assumptions) and $20-something (with a fairly rosy macro/car market scenario). It all depends on the cash burn rate (which GM is unable to change at this point), and restructuring its NA operations (which takes cash that GM doesn't have). To a lesser degree, Western Europe operations would need adjustment as well since demand growth is mostly in Eastern Europe... Basically, GM cannot generate cash and does not have the cash it needs to restructure... Not pretty...
  10. good one! my response to thread: extinct
  11. My most heart-felt condolences, B. I am very, very sorry for your loss. Him, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong not only for yourself, but for your mom as well. She'll need you guys to be her emotional foundation for a while.

    GM stock

They are not profitable, they do not generate cah flow... as an investment they're useless unless someone needs some losses for tax planning purposes...

  19. agreed 100% I missed your post, but (odd coincidence) the subject I quoted was talked about up during dinner with a friend of mine tonight. I was telling her that the help I gave to someone was worth it even if I didn't get anything in return. In the end it made me a better person and it gave me a sense of peace and fulfillment that I was able to swallow my pride and my doubts about that person and be there when she needed me.

  22. IIRC the 9-1 was supposed to be Astra-sized. Either it will be based on the Corsa, or there will be a full 9-3 range (sedan, wagon, hatches) on DeltaII... Or GM will be futher buried in the $h!ter and nothing happens...
  23. So they're watching liquidity fade away
