I'd never cross shop those two. In fact, I didn't when I bought my Mini and I seriously doubt other people do that... It does change. I admit I'm curious about where GM is taking Saab...

The Big3 don't seem able to do much more than restructure debt, and hope for better days. They can make it, but I am not as bullish as I was a couple of years ago

Mini? Where on Earth does the Mini belong in the same segment as the Golf, the Civic and the Astra?

I think those rumours of the NG 9-3 going on DeltaII (isn't it calle Global Cmpact Architecture or some other fancy name now?) will prove to be true. That might also eliminate the need for the 9-1, unless Saab wants a Gamma-based small car, and alow Saab to bring back the 9-3 hatches which would be perfect for the traditional Saab-o-phile.

Oh, I thought GM would be certifying the the 2.9L engine for the US as well... I guess potential volume is so low that it is uneconomical to certify it to US standards...

Isn't the diesel pretty much confirmed at this point? It wouldn't make much sense to confirm it for the sedan/coupe only...
