IMO you all need to understand the Astra is a car due to be replaced soon. The NG cars have been caught testing already. The current Astra provided GM with another small car entry in NA, one that is actually different from the Cobalt/G5 twins.

What would you think of letting go of the 3-door Golf and positioning the Scirocco the same way Opel positions the 3-door Astra?

Japanese and Korean automakers' long-term focus reminds me of AC/DC's song 'It's a Long Way To The Top'. The result is that Honda, etc. don't need to have widespread lease 'subsidies'.

That face reminds me of one of the European Accords... Not sure if it is the exact same car though...

BMW sells a 170hp 4-cylinder 520i here. I think Cadillac could easily replicate such an engine lineup to boost sales in Europe, but I dont know if it's a money issue, inertia, or a combination of both.

If actual Pontiac transaction prices are lower than Chevy's (I honestly don't know if they are), then I'd dump all those Pontiacs to fleets in the US (Canada and Mexico seem to like their twin-kidney Chevy rebadges) and let Chevy go after the retail market.
