There's a fundamental flaw in your arguments: you didn't post any links to j/k I think you did quite well in exposing yur arguments and supporting them with the info on the stuff you linked to. If these other people were interested in a serious discussion they would at least have tried to do the same.

If the export model's taillights are exactly like on this car (the blacked out effect) instead of the cheap-ass light coloured ones from the cars caught testing, I may actually like them!

The 1-series will offer much more content in terms of comfort and tech goodies, but it's as close as BMW will get to the spirit of the 2002ti/tii. The tii prototype they unveiled at Tokyo would make a nice keeper of that particular flame, as long as the engine is much more powerful than the 305hp in the 135.

Maybe GM is engineering DeltaII to make it AWD-compatible so the next gen gets that AWD version. It would be fun to have that kind of potential in the platform, especially if you consider other applications: Opel Astra OPC and an AWD Saab 9-1 immediately come to mind.
