  1. I know: I was just crossing your '500hp+' post with Lutz's 'unexpected power' comment and doing some speculating. I'm thinking GM will not pass on the opportunity to outpower the M5 and M6 with both the CTS-V and the Blue Devil.
  2. A question from a non-engineering inclined person: what about the camless engine Chrysler was supposed to be working on a few years ago? IIRC the idea was to have no pushrods or overhead cams, but electronically controlled individual valve actuators integrated with the rest of the engine's electronics. Has the idea been abandoned altogether?
  3. but I think he/she would know his/her place next to a Corvette.
  4. 2 Bentleys: Continental GT last Weekend and Arnage today at lunch time. If i win the EUR 27M (after-tax) jackpot this week, maybe I'll get myself one.
  5. Aha, so there might be, for example, a 550hp tuning for that engine in the CTS-V so GM can advertise the 'we have more hp than M5' line.
  6. only 6hp more with the optional exaust? what's the point, a more aggressive exhaust note?
  7. yuck!

  9. I think I saw that pic before. Apparently someone chopped an Aero-X and a Solstice/Sky into this thing. I'd rather see a small FWD roadster (let's call it the Sonnet) based on the Astra platform.

  11. And have you heard anything regarding power/torque numbers?

  13. The 3dr has a coupe-like look. It's a very nice looking car IMO.
  14. It'll be interesting to see how GM reacts if the trend in global sales continues throughout the year.
  15. The Astra still looks good with the longer US bumpers. I'd like to see a Red Line version go to the US, even if they have to settle with the 180hp engine for cost/pricing reasons.

  17. It's good to see GM moving its pieces towards markets that are expected to grow more in the future. I do have a question though: will Borat cover this development in Kazakhstan's auto industry?
  18. Your argument has won me over regarding safety features. I still think Cadillac should be the first to offer non-safety-features innovations, though.EDIT - I have a question regarding the LDW feature: does it work in very heavy rain or foggy conditions? I had to drive through very intense rain last Friday: I had to turn on the lights, front and rear fog lights and 4-way-hazard-warning just to remain barely visible in that weather, and heavy rain or fog are the only two kinds of situations I'd see that thing as useful. IMHO it's completely useless in clear weather unless the driver is sleeping...
  19. A 2-door 260hp HHR variant would be nice too EDIT - the changes would probably be too expensive though

  21. I don't know what you're talking about Reply to thread: Pablo Escobar Cola associated with Coke, associated with non-liquid coke, associated with a source of that stuff and one of it's most famous citizens. I am a sick man...
  22. I fear that people would pick on it and the G8 gven the similarities in both 'faces', even though the cars as a whole are obviously quite different from one another...

  24. Jesus! Those insurance payments are crazy! For how many cars would one pay $5K? I only pay $1K (using an exchange rate of USD1,3 = EUR 1) per year for my car.
