GTO concept? 2007?
Please say it isn't so... Pontiac will try it's hand at a "four door coupe?" I love the idea of a sleek, sexy sedan with a coupe-like greenhouse, like the CLS. It would make a perfect G8 (especially if it's RWD with the right powertrain options to put the 300 in it's place). But I hope they don't actually market it as a coupe. That said, I with they'd make that (the G8), and a true two door GTO replacement.

OK, briefly, do you like...
I love the side and rear look of the exterior, no matter what view you use to look at it. The only exterior feature I don't like is the front fascia.

Hehehe... yep. Doesn't get any better than that.

Cien
Damn straight it would. It would be awesome if they did that. Caddy would be playing in another league, then... the proper one, for the "Standard of the World." That moniker should be going NO WHERE, IMO.

Concept - Chrysler Imperial
The overall look is okay, IMO. I like it better than the 300. If they want to convince people that this isn't a blatant Rolls rippoff, and prove that it's a design from the Imperial's past, they'd better a nice big picture like the one in the magazine plastered in every showroom. The suicide doors are COOL. My major concern is that it looks to much like a reskinned 300. they should have made the car larger, with a slightly bigger front overhang, and a more than slightly larger rear overhang to put some distance between it and the 300C. That said, if the production stays true to the concept, DCX has another hit on their hands.

Buicks new name?
Thanks. That's acutally a relief. Atleast I know that the money wasn't wasted, or taken away from them. As updated vehicles on old platforms go, it doesn't get any better than the Lucerne and Lacrosse. But I'm really looking to what the $3Bil produces.

Buicks new name?
Can't argue with that. Wasn't Buick supposed to be getting billions for new development? If so, why not use the mone to develop a new platform. One that can support a number of cars, and a crossover? Like Sigma? Or Nissan's FM? Where's the money. If GM was working on such a product, we would know about it... even if it was "secret" :P . It's cheap (relatively speaking) to retool older existing platforms, and put in proven powertrains. I'm sure it took millions (however many) to develop the Lacrosse and Lucerne, and there both very good vehicles. But it's not the boatload of new money I remember hearing Buick would recieve (like Caddy did) to overhaul their product and image.

2009 BMW 7 Series
^ Well, to each his own. Personally, I think the 5's front is ugly. I'd never use a term like "elegance" in the same sentence. Sure, with the CLS maybe, but not the 5.

It looks great. Actually, it looks like it'll eat the Mustang for lunch. I CAN'T WAIT to see the Camaro.

You're talking about Honda's Odyssey and Toyota's Sienna? Buick's brand is supposed to be luxury, right? If that's the case, give the upscale minivan to GM's up and coming upscale brand; Saturn. That's all I'm saying. If I'm wrong about Buick being a luxury make, then that's different.

'06 Camry solid
What a shame. Ignorant statements like that make me crazy. Have you sat in or driven a Fusion, or any of the triplets? The car's caps are very tight, and the interioro fit and finish is excellent. There aren't any cheap or hard plastics, and the stack's ergonomics are just as good as the Camry's. I guess because they're selling the car at a great value to the Camry it must be cheap, huh? But when the Sonata does it (and also has good fit and finish), they're brilliant and a great value. Yet, if the Fusion was the same price as the Camry, it'd be "overpriced" then, huh? The domestics will never win with views like yours. And as far as resale value, the cars BRAND NEW!

2007 Chevy Aveo Sedan North American Debut
I totally disagree. This is a good looking car, in and out. I'd by this in a heartbeat before an Accent or Echo (even worse). The Aveo looks like a small car, not a small pokemon. If you want some racy, hot hatch, look to the Vibe.

G6 GTP in motor trend
I agree with you for the most part. Especially about the STS being to big and cheap (unfortuantely). Hopefully the new Escalade interior will have a trickle down effect. The TSX can be seen as a competitior to the 3 and A4 four cylnders, but really it's a competitor to the A3, upcoming 1-Series,BLS (as you said), S40,9-2X. It's the $24-30K so called compact lux segment found below the cut throat $30K intro lux segment. The 330I,A4,G,CTS,S60,IS,A3,9-3,C-Class and TL comprises this intro lux segment, and is really a step above the TSX. Infiniti and Lexus don't have direct competitors to the TSX, though Infiniti used to (the G20).

Agreed. The R-Class is really a tall wagon "Sports Tourer." If Buick had a vehicle similar in size and spec to the R-Class to be postioned above the Enclave, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Buick would essentially have a three SUV lineup if it had that, with the Enclave and the small one coming up. Plus, it's a very different vehicle from the Escalade, so Buick would have something just for them. It could share the platform with it's phantom RWD flagship. Again, just my wish list.

Croc, read Mule Bakersdozen LS's statement that I was responding too. He made reference to both a lux Buick minivan and then the Enclave's pricing, etc. I was making the same point you are making. My argument was that the Buick minivan he described would do better as a Saturn, and then I agreed with this Enclave statement.

Oh really? BTW, Enclave =RX,MDX,SRX Acadia =Pacifica,Magellan Right now, it's all a matter of opinion. I'm basing mine off of GM's statement that it wants Buick to compete with Lexus.

Right, that all sounds good, but it doesn't change my arguement. You make a provision for a Pontiac sporty minivan. That's fine. There definitely should not be two minivans in BPG. As far as the Buick minivan, put a Saturn badge on it and there you go. Just because the Relay hasn't done well in the past doesn't mean all potential is lost for the future. Satrun will be getting alot of traffice with the Aura, Sky, next gen Vue (Opel Antera) and Ion (great looking sketches shown); a premium minivan would fit perfectly in it's lineup. I doesn't fit into Buicks at all if they want to be a real lux maker. Your pricing and trim leves for the Enclave look find to me, but Buick has Reserve and Super trim levels for the Enclave, they should be for the whole lineup. I like it alot better than CX,CXL,CXS.

It all boils down to the fact that GM still doesn't have a clear brand direction for Buick. Obviously we on these forums are confused. Many here see Buick as more a Chrysler rival than a Lexus, and vice versa. We need clearer indications from GM. I think, if it'll be Lexus, then they don't need a minivan. It seems to me GM stated they wanted to chase Lexus, while Saturn would be elevated to competing with premium makes like Chrysler/VW/Honda/etc. So, which is it? GM should give the van to Saturn. Buick should be a value to alternative to Lexus (as GM has publicly stated), and have a full lineup that closely mirrors their's (with three sedans, two crossovers, and the Velite, at the very least). That's what I'd like to see for Buick.
