  1. hey Camino, just go buy a Peterbuilt 389 (the replacement for the 379), then call the guys from Trick My Truck, and baadaboom, you've got your ride!
  2. They are all more primarily geared for the European market.
  3. Bobo thanks as always for bringing the year officially to a close. Glad to see I wasn't mentioned in there although the Curse did reach out and touch my Impala right at year's end. Cheers to all whom deserve and Jeers for those whom also deserve!
  4. I do like everyone above said, I don't pay attention.
  5. So there are actually three different fuel mileage formulas out there that have to be balanced out and looked at? I'd say that is a problem, why not just use one across the board and either like it, or don't sell your ride here.
  6. I'd have to agree that CAFE doesn't really help matters much. We as the automotive community, and enthusiasts especially need to demand from the manfacturers what we want, now with that being said, we don't need to lobby our government to force things down the auto industry's throat.
  7. Its happened to me a couple of times, but it hasn't been something that would absolutely end my day.
  8. Exactly what I was thinking Sly
  9. Exactly what I was thinking Camino, I read the article earlier today and I agree with it wholeheartedly
  10. Well you have to think that E85 still relies on gasoline as a component. Besides ethonal by itself is just like gasoline, it'll run in an internal combustion engine without too much trouble. GM in Brazil has been building engines that run on ethonal for years now, why can't we do it too once the infrastructure is in place to deliver the product.
  11. I'd say that GM is riding high with everything they have running on either pure ethonal or continuing on E85, and of course all the diesels are biofuel compatible. Ford is doing well with their hybrids and FFV stuff (afterall, they've had flex fuel stuff for a while now), and of course the PowerStroke engines are running on biofuel. Chrysler is getting along well also running lots of electrics and ethonal powered rides. Toyota lagged behind and is still pushing hybrids, but nothing running on Ethonal, or E85 for that matter. Honda is of course running full electrics and hybrids, and trying to move away from gasoline engines all together. Nissan is following quickly on the heels of Honda with progress in full electric vehicles and also making great headway with fuel cell rides. At least that's what I say, but who knows, I could be wrong, but that would be a pretty great future to me.
  12. Yeah, I'm keeping track of them.
  13. Push over!!!!
  14. I retract all my previous statements and have to side with booyah on this one. You could own Ironhide, what bigger thrill do you need than owning a Transformer (next to owning Optimus Prime in either of his semi-truck forms)
  15. I like the Malibu, a lot. I'm also of the mindset that if everyone else LOVES the car, meanwhile he doesn't, then maybe the view is purely subjective, or in this case, objective, and able to be interpretted differently depending on who is reading it. I don't like seeing bad press on ANY GM model, but I also realize that with everything new that comes out, there will be some negative reviews.
  16. I really like this. My reaction for me was kinda knee-jerk about the nose of the truck, but I'm like everyone else, the more I see it, the more I like it. Overall, I'd have to say that this is one sharp looking truck, and I'm really liking the factory duals on the sport model. The Rambox is a good idea too, I was kinda starting to wonder when a manfacturer would start incorporating some toolbox storage into the bed body and shell.
  17. I've got to admit, it looks good. I'll reserve full judgement when I see one in person, but she looks good now, and looked good in pre-production stuff we've all seen before, so what's not to really like at this point. I would still much prefer a Camaro over one, but I can't lie that the car looks good. I'm like Camino though, I wanna see all three cars on the pages of the auto mags doing comparos between them.
  18. I've got it! Go find a slightly "loved" military issue hummer, pull the existing GM diesel out of it, insert one Cat 3406 diesel, and give it the biggest lift and tires you can find.
  19. pure and simple. You're probably like me, since I'm not exactly a small guy, kids see me as a human jungle gym and climb all over me knowing that I'm a soft target.
  20. yeah, but at the fire rate they're shooting at, you'd get hit plenty of times before you really registered the first real sting.
  21. My wife's Cobalt in more or less strict highway driving delivers solid 30-35 mpg runs. In town its more like 18-24.....
  22. I figured that loud would be good, that's why I said a P&W radial (think WW-II bomber aircraft engines), and strap it to a car, or truck.
  23. I would have to say that if I were a Japanese person, this would probably be ideal for what they're wanting to go after for a weekend getaway kinda car. meanwhile over here you've got vehicles that pretty much fill this niche, kinda making this pointless. If you really think about it.
  24. Hmm, go find a slightly used Pratt & Whitney radial engine out of something (hell anything from the past 60 years of aircraft could have one), and strap it into something wild....Think Camaro, or Challenger. You'd have one of the most ultimate torque engines (and it'd be REALLY loud).
  25. You know, first moment I read the title to this thread, I immediately thought Geo Metro. Truthfully I think that the 3-cylinder idea would be ideal in something smaller than the Cobalt, but I know what he's getting at here, the Ecotechs are bigger than what Honda is currently delivering, yet in no way performing quite like what H has been spitting out for a while now. My only concern is that while the 3-cylinder Metros got great mileage, they would hit a pebble the right way and get stopped, just don't build an engine like that and I think it might be a winner.
