Once a month??????? How do you people drive so little? I'm lucky if I pull off only getting gas once a WEEK. The Cobalt will be one year old at the end of this month, and I just turned 40,000 km last night. (~25,000 mi)

You really think the money you're going to lose in the tradein / re-registration process is worth the few dollars you'll save on gas? I agree you should have bought a more efficient car in the first place, but I don't think trading it in at this point is the right way to go.

I agree that it looks good. However it is just another reminder to everyone that Chevy and Pontiac are there to give them the illusion of choice. If people thought they were truly separate companies and they had choice (like some people thought with Sunfire/Cavalier), that illusion has been shattered. Everybody, even non-car enthusiasts, can see that the Cobalt and G5 are the same.

Oh, and I almost forgot one from yesterday. There's a ramp in Toronto from one highway to another that most people take at 80 km/h. I had to slam on the brakes yesterday to about 40, and there's this column of cars up ahead waiting for one guy to get out of the way. He suddenly does, and skips over to another ramp, where he could have been in this other lane the whole time. So who was it, in the wrong lane, going 40? A red 64-era Corvette. Way to have a sweet car and drive like you have no sense. Fool.

Oh, and I have to add one more here that nobody else has yet. Old J-bodies. Specifically the 88-94 ones. Kids who have those things just don't care, and the 3.1 in a car that small lets 'em drive fast.

Had or heard any good ones lately? I was watching the Barrett-Jackson auction with a friend of mine. She saw an old pickup truck on there with wood in the bottom of the pickup bed, seemed like it was there to save the paint. So she says. "If I ever buy a pickup I'll get someone to put wood in my box." I also had one the first day I started at a computer shop, back in high school. I told the guy to put the dick in the drive.

I'd like to clear this up a little. For me, I never drive like an asshole and cut people off. My driving never changes. I like my car and I don't want some idiot to smash it up for me. To me, "Are you more courteous" basically means would you react if they drove badly - i.e. would you honk, give dirty looks, give them the finger, etc. Maybe it's a stereotype, but I just picture BMW drivers as caring a lot about appearances. So, basically I know I can give one the finger and (s)he's not going to ram me, drag me out of my car at an intersection, shoot at me, or anything silly like that. I tend to not give cars in bad repair the finger, because I figure these people don't give a @%(^ about their car or appearance, and would be more likely to pull the stupid crap listed above. So Nick, you would not notice different behaviour from me unless you did something stupid enough to warrant getting the finger.

BMW. Their slogan might as well be "GET YOUR CHEAP *%^* OUT OF MY WAY". Mercedes takes a close second here. Lexus/Infiniti/Cadillac/Jaguar drivers, on the other hand, seem much calmer.
