  1. You know, the saying is the third times the charm and we have already failed to take over Canada 2 times so perhaps its time to go again so we can have the Big 4. I believe we would have to fight GB, NZ, Australia, and all the other commonwealth countries however, given that they are all subjects of the crown. But i think we can do it. Plus it would create a lot of jobs for both us and Canada.
  2. Hmm according to some thing i got Massachusetts taxes are lower on average than usual... just a lot of debt. As for California, we have a neato use tax, which means that if you buy something from out of state you have to report it on your income tax and then pay taxes on it because you "used" it in Cali.
  3. NH certainly is an oddball state. Very freedom loving types. I might consider living there if it weren't for the fact that its located in the North East... too cold.
  4. CRT is the TV of choice for 480i, which is what i primarily watch. Plus you can play dock hunt on it, you cant play duck hunt on a LCD.
  5. No, like any institution doing DIP, the government could demand the entire board be thrown out as a condition of the financing etc. The only difference is that if GM succeeds through the bankruptcy process then this loan to the government has to be repaid like any other loan. If GM fails then when it goes Ch. 7 liquidation .gov gets all the proceeds as DIP has the highest priority of the creditors. This would be LESS pressure on the government because if GM fails... well it ain't the governments fault. With .gov owning GM then if GM fails it IS the governments fault because they are the majority owners.
  6. Just wondering Evok, all i proposed was a government DIP financing, it would have allowed them to make the same conditions as they made doing this. The only difference is that it is only equity ownership if the company fails its restructuring. Provided GM makes it through, i don't even see any difference between whats happening now vs a government DIP; other than in the end .gov doesn't own the company (and later have to incur additional expenses in selling off their vast stake). Man what a defeatist attitude. You cannot have that attitude if you want to keep your rights
  7. Michael Moore is an idiot, but like anyone else he can say what he wants. The sad thing is that people actually listen
  8. HAH thats my fav episode of South Park! Thanks for posting it, i havent seen it in ages.
  9. hehehehe Lincoln posted a sales increase. hehehheehheheheheheh
  10. I thought the males watched over and hatched the eggs anyways?
  11. Well, this whole process could have gone smoother if this just went normal Ch. 11. If no financing was available than a government debtor in possession loan would have been acceptable... should GM make it out of the bankruptcy the existing shareholders are NOT wiped out. If it fails, well GM liquidates and .gov gets the proceeds. GM CANNOT emerge as strong from this bankruptcy as it could have from a regular bankruptcy.
  12. Been there seen that. Waste of money IMO.
  13. ... damn you cublical you cant let me have fun can you. Well i also saw a Police Bicycle with flashing lights and a really pathetic sounding siren ride past me.
  14. The first operational fighter jet of the Good Guys from WW2.
  15. I like Gt4, but i wont shovel out the money for a PS3 just to get GT5
  16. Well 1 day after complaining about the crap that i normally see here: Today i saw that crappy Honda Insight again.. but more importantly. BENTLEY GT BABY!
  17. Why didn't AM General want this back and just keep rolling out H1s?
  18. I do 0-5% if its awful, 10% if its poor, 15% for expected, and 20% for excellent. If i order something that does not cost very much i generally tip upwards of 50-100% to make it worth the waiter/waitresses time.
  19. Oohh i like the sound of a turbocharged Cadillac Kappa. Kinda like a mini-XLR?
  20. Hmmm i saw a brand spanking new Honda Insight. ... i wish i actually got to see cool cars here
  21. Why is GMC still around again? I mean... if your going for broke you might as well phase out the ultimate in badge engineering brand.
  22. Pfft, make fun of us cheapskates all you want, but it is always us who are smiling during bad times. We need a cheapskate flag... but that costs too much money, so
  23. Oh i fully agree with you. But none of those presidents, except perhaps Regan, actually were committed to small government and free enterprise. Anyways we will endure, we always do.
