  1. A ragtop Camaro is not quite my cup of tea at this point in my life, the Cutty on the other hand would make a GREAT car for me.
  2. I've already had some fun gettting tail-happy in my RWD Maxima. 4th-to-2nd, drop the clutch, WOT & liberal countersteer... Delivering Chinese food, drifting all the way.
  3. Smooth decklid would be much better than that blister.
  4. WRONG!!! Go 4 miles away from Boston and you've got two options: 1. drive 2. Walk 3. Commuter Rail in VERY select areas (just as expensive as driving) Now you sound like a jerk. We all know many of the people breeding in large numbers should NOT be breeding in general but don't make this about something it's not. And guess what? Until we start flying the Hammer & Sickle over 1600 Penn. Ave this is still a free country and as such people can waste their money as they please... free will is a bitch sometimes.
  5. BV: What's the history of this Cutty again? Milage? My summer daily driver is 49 years old & my "MODERN" winter beater is 23. That's predictable and unoriginal. How about a '31 Cadillac V16?
  6. What I DIDN'T like was the 4th gen. Firebirds' tailgate without the T/A's floating rear spoiler. It always looked kind of Hyundai-ish, too rounded & "beveled" reminds me of the 1960 Buicks' tailfins which also look like someone took the edge off of the 1959's. The 3rd gen. Firebird's decklid did not look cheap & lame without the spoiler... but take away taht cool Trans Am wing off of a '93 Firebird, put on that base tailgate and it looks as fabulous as a row of plastic "button delete" tabs in a base Hyundai Accent.
  7. It's not the factories, the coal burning smokestacks, the 747 that burns of a billion gallons of 115 octane a year, it is the CARS, they're the DEVIL, evil I tell you, those sin-promotin' contraptions must be stopped, but if we can't kill them altogether we can at least put the screws to 'em... 35mpg including trucks means they will be dealt such a blow that people will rather WALK than be outpaced by an '72 Vega with one fouled sparkplug. Politicians always THINK they can play scientist.
  8. I saw a '61 Cadillac ragtop the other day at the local hardware store, had my camera with me but it was PITCH black. It had a baby-blue metallic paintjob with ghiost flames all over it. It was such a thing of beauty. Meantime there's a daily driven '87 Grand National around Dracut, MA as well as a sooooooooo HOT '68/'69 Buick Wildcat hardtop in red w/ a black interior. It's the definition of a daily driver, even street parked but it doea look well taken care of. So betwee my B-59, the GN and that Wildcat there's at least three awsome classic Buicks in the area that still rack up miles. I've got more..... when I get a chance, with PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence.
  9. My ex's new guy often talks about a MINT G-body Regal that he kept pristene into the late '90s untill his sister beat the F*** out of it and destroyed it. I guess her idea of a winter-time warm up was to start the car and immediatelly rev it to 5000RPM for 90sec. so she'd get instant heat. She drove over a few 8" tall curbstones at high speed and never washed the undercarriage in the winter as well as neglecting to check the oil.... ever. So sad to hear of a two door G-body Buick dying like that.
  10. It looks great but c'mon, this product is LOOOONG in the tooth. I was sure they'd use this opportunity for a mild-refresh in the styling department. At least spruce up the headlights & both bumper covers. When is the Cobalt due for a reskin?
  11. There's only ONE car that should replace KITT, not the '57 Chevy KITT or Knight Rider 2000 that was FWD, the REAL KITT, a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, black & sleek should only be replaced by ONE car: 2002 Trans Am WS6! Here's a craptastic chop I did a while back: The Vette would be fine, or Solstice, even maybe an XLR... but a Mustang? WTF? It's not a Pontiac, it does NOT have the look of KITT. Even a Mercedes CL63 or Porsche 911T might work but a Mustang...? I don't like it. And what happened to THIS?
  12. That shows how well you understand human nature & people's logic in the voting process. She'll get people's sympathy vote, stupid but true. I can already hear the 70 year old ladys saying: "she's been through soooo much already, what a strong woman she is..." I've already heard stupider logic from her supporters, even Bill's sexcapades & embarassing adultery gets Hillary sympathy. It's just the way people think these days. Regan was an awsome president in many ways, he accomplished more than almost any other President in my lifetime and yet, if he had not gotten shot in 1981 he probably would NOT have won a second term. Ive heard this multiple times from people well versed in politics.
  13. ATF, IBM, UPS, LED, VHS, H2O, ABS, WTF No stupid acronym will EVER sound as elegant, stately & luxurious as: Cadillac V-16 Dual Cowl Phaeton by Fisher Cadillac Coupe deVille Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance Cadillac Eldorado Biaritz
  14. That's a loaded question... perhaps. It's more practical than buying a Prius or someone telling me to reduce my CO2 emissions by trading in my gas guzzler for an economy car. It's a free country, if I want to drive a damn Hummer H1 and I can afford the gas it's MY right. This is NOT Communist Russia, yet. Am I a proponent of recycling, energy saving bulbs, alternative fuels etc.? YES.
  15. YD: I was not making fun of you or talking about your post, it's just that this always happens, people will assume that any and all camouflage will stay on the vehicle into production, even if it's a chunky piece of foam duct-taped to the headlights.
  16. Oldsmoboi: I never said I had all the solutions but my point is NO ONE does. But it seems you're fine with this kind of deception on the part of people who call themselves "scientists" You guys need to open your eyes. It's all about $$$. Just like the war, the fuel crisis of 1974, the obsolecense/existance of the EPA...
  17. F*ckin' great. That's all we need is that evil douche to use this to catapult herself to the white house. That being said I hope no one is hurt and they catch the psycho. ----- I liked Pat Buchanan's response when they asked on the news: If they had you on a rack like in the days of the inquisition and your arms were about to be torn from your body if you did not pick either Obama or Clinton to be our next pres., under that kind of pressure, if you HAD to pick, who would you vote for...? Pat says: Keep turning the screws.
  18. Yes... it's YET another theory. I personally do not believe that it takes over a century for THAT much thermal energy to materialize. But then again I'm not an expert... if I was I'd skew the evidence to prove what I want.
  19. Nope, it's like every other thread where a pre-production mule with over-sized houndstooth print all over it, trashbags, foam, canvas & other camo. covering any & all details will be annalized as if it was a new car sitting on a showroof floor with a MSRP sticker in the left-rear window.
  20. I don't know the history of your Camaro Walt, who's "they" and what exactly happened?
  21. Well, the Corolla looks like a Civic with downs syndrome so it's out, the Tundra had camshaft failure, the FJ-Cruiser suffered a broken body-seam the Scion BoX had its ONE backup light burn out the Lexus IS is quite lame now that it lost its inline-6 the Camry was immobilized by sludge...
  22. YD: Dude, but what about { cue James Earl Jones voice-over } GLOBAL DARKENING!?!?!?! Balthazar said it all. Science has been whored out by the politicians just like our economy.
  23. DF: Brotha you need to re-read M84's first post. The scientists are MAKING UP & WILLFULLY TAMPERING with data! How can you trust ANYTHING you read knowing that? Let's think for a second... remember that period of time in the late 19th century known as the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION? Ever see a painting of London, England from that era? Even towns here in our own state of Massachusetts like Lawrence, Lowell, Worcester, Haverhill, Framingham, Gardner, Fitchburg, and the list goes on & on... every one of thise cities spewing millions of tons of CO2 from the factories. Look around right in YOUR backyard, only a few of those smokestacks remain in Lawrence but in their hey-day they spewed out nast, black soot day and night.... WHERE'S the spike on the charts from that? I have been saying this all along. Time to go throw some super unleaded, lead substitute and a half-pint of Marvells' Mystery Oil in the B-59 and go contributre to the stifling of an ice age.
  24. DF: Are you crazy dude? The 3000GT is one of the biggest moneypits made since the Triumph TR7... can't imagine why... what with Mitsubishi designing an FW-biased AWD system mated to a TRANSVERSE mounted 32-vlave V6, 4-wheel steering & to top it all off TWO turbochargers! Now that's great point-a-to-b transportation. For the record SpeedingPenguin's brother is in the middle of a Dodge Stealth RT rebuild. He bought it cheap and has a garage & more importaintly the know how as well as the dedication to pull it apart & put it back together without leftover pieces all while affording the replacement parts. Just seeing the wiring harness apart the other day made me sick to my stomach. If you want cheap & affordable a 3rd gen. Camaro or 5-oh Mustang are the way to go, not some overglorified, needlessly-complex Japanese Cluster-fu*k-Rocket.
  25. Still my favorite forum, despite ME being somewhat unpopular with many of you....
