  1. bullish? more like bull$h!.
  2. I've almost always dated older women, usually by a year or two. My wife Julie is 24 and I'm 28. That's a good spread I think. My parents are 4 years appart too, dad was born '53 mom in '57.
  3. Too bad though, Europeans have embraced wagons, it's not at all a stigmata there to have a station wagon. If anything they're way cooler than many new crossover-jellybeans like the Honda Pilot & Highlander... That Kia that looks like a London Taxi knockoff? The Rhondo or whatever, that's uglier than any cheesy faux-wood side station wagon from the 1970s.
  4. true & true. Also, how does that come off for their dealers? That's like a cheesy off-broadway, B-rated musical portrayal of the sleeziest car salesman of all time.
  5. who thinks that the "Maniac" Kia commercial is the lamest, most annoying ad in all human history. I almost never watch TV but the TV is always on at the restaurant, set to ESPN or some other sport program, that ad is on all the freekin' time and it makes my brain bleed. Seriously, dry-humping a Kia Optima? to the THIRD power!
  6. I hear you Camino... sometimes I think that movie "Idiocracy" will become a reality soon!
  7. Yeah the only "modern" car I'll even consider is a B-body, (esp. with an LT1) or perhaps a hardtop Mercedes from the 80s.... also I'm investigating a BMW 524 diesel in R.I. But chances are I'll end up buying a car older than the Datsun I'm replacing. Saving tons on sales tax, excise tax, insurance, maintenance & other expenses are the perks to classic car ownership, but most of all they suck a lot less!
  8. Yup. That's it right there.... The first gen. LaCrosse was boring as hell, so that combined with FWD made it worthless. The new Super grille is a vast improvement though, the W-body needs to die like five years ago, the B-body needs to be resurected!
  9. 24 year old dude sexin up a 16 year old is gross.... A 34 year old with a 26 is no big deal, it's all relative. Never heard of this 0.5 +7 rule, works I guess....
  10. The last photos of the Datsun before it was wrecked by that bonehead: Taken exactly 26 hours prior to the accident. I managed to get around in this little RWD four door Fairlady through mud, sleet, ice, snow, blizzard, two floods & several ice storms over the past 30 months, and in the end a guy in an AWD car with all the modern saftety devices slams into me head on without even attempting to slow down, swerve around, or otherwise avoid me. Red means STOP, a$$hole.
  11. White is not flattering to this car.... but it still looks good from what can be seen. (still TWO too many b-pillars though )
  12. Not everyone wants or NEEDS navigation.
  13. How about a '37 Plymouth? Seriously.
  14. Real Germans do not preach the anti-RWD bull$h!. REAL Germans drive BMW M6s and tool around town in a big body diesel Benz.
  15. All three of those are delicious!!! (agreed, Camino... the whole thing with the lawyer is such a pain)
  16. All I know is that it is MUCH less ugly than the Ridgeline. I'd still rather have a diesel Rabbitt Pickup.
  17. Power to ya! So long as you realise you're burning money. If you want to recoup at least half of your money than buy a classic Olds, a '71 Cutlass or '68 Toronado will make great project cars and they will be worth much more than a hot-rod Aurora.
  18. I'd like to tear appart the Datsun, take the good parts off of it. At this point I'm more concerned with my health but idealy I'd save the engine, trans, rear end, doors, trunk, glass, & most importantly the voice-box computer. WMJ: That '64 Cadillac seems to good to be true, the '67 Volvo with 300K miles is a testament to those old tanks, (try that with a modern FWD 850) and the '79 Dump Truck makes me laugh, just the other day I pointed out a yellow '85 JUST LIKE THAT ONE to Julie and said I'd like to be able to justify delivering Chinese food in THAT, or better yet a chopped down Peterbilt 379 with a sleeper-cab. Back to the accident, I'm in talks with a lawyer. After all the B.S. I had to deal with and the other guys' blatant lies I've decided I need to seek legal council.
  19. Congrats on your Uncle's new musclecar. ----- The Mustang II was and always will be a joke. Fffffff-ugly
  20. Really? What if the perception problem is with the Europeans & Japanese? Who's to tell which is correct? I personally think that a car that small has no place outside of downtown Tokyo or Paris... esp. on the highway.
  21. UPS really kicked my a$$ monday morning, I realised that almost everything that was stiff was going to get worse before it gets better. I went to a doctor and I think once I get the insurance paperwork going I'm visiting the doctor again. My shoulder, neck, lower back, knees & wrists are all in a lot of pain. ------ The only Toyopet I'd like to own post 2000GT would be an early '70s hardtop Corona with a straight-6 and manual trans. I'd take a MINT one of those to replace my Datsun... but after an accident like this (yes thank God Sofia was not with me) I think I'll be moving on to another BOF car, or at least another German tank like my wife's diesel Mercedes. There's a 300TDT wagon I've got my eye on, and also a '92 Roadmaster that I'm going to look at a few towns away. Now if money was no obect, or at least if I had like $50K for a new one I'd buy an early 1930s Pontiac or some other pre-war car and have a professionally installed roll-cage installed, throw on a set of radials & a modern mp3=compatible radio so I could daily drive it!
  22. That Packard Limo is delicious!!!
  23. I finished my Christmas shopping at the Phesant Lane Mall in Nashua, New Hampshire at about 6:30pm on Friday. Left the mall in the Datsun, pulled out onto Daniel Webster Highway a few minutes later at a green light & put on my left blinker. I'm just about to turn, having yielded to a few cars leaving the Costco across the street, but just as I start rolling at about 15mph I slam on my brakes because I realise that one car in particular is not stopping at the red, in fact a set of HIDs is headed for me at a very scarry rate. I had about 1.5 seconds to react, I pull back in my seat and push the shifter into neutral, for a split second I think, this LOOKS scarry but he's got plenty of room to swerve around me... right?! Nope. Not only was this guy speeding by about 15mph, he also blatantly ran a red light, but worst of all he was somehow completely distracted and never even tapped his brakes. The impact was almost exactly head-on, our drivers sides hit, I think he was going about 40mph or 45mph, it felt like 70mph but either way he never even applied his brakes. The Datsun's unibody did an excellent job of protecting me, not as well as the 2003 BMW 328xi touring's but than again if I had a B-body or some other big BOF vehicle I would have been better off. I got spun around and pushed back halfway across the intersection. My adrenaline was pumping hardcore. My back, neck, wrists, and esp. knees are seriously hurting now but at the sceene of the accident I made the mistake of saying I thought I was alright. The other driver cut up his scalp pretty bad on the Bimmer's A-pillar, he was bleeding pretty bad. Thank got the cops documented everything and I have a witness, the guy who was behind the BMW stopped and gave me his info, saying that he can testify that the guy ran a red, was speeding & obviously distracted since he made no attempt to swerve around me even though there was plenty of space. I'm hurting, tired and sleep depraved from my three jobs & overtime at UPS, but that's the basics & here's some photos:
  24. I was going to make a thread like this... not ONE rwd car the other day in the blizzard. - VW Jetta, current gen. - Civic (brand new two door) - Hyundai Tiburon, last gen. - 1997-ish Jetta My RWD Datsun has been getting me around fine, as well as Julie's Mercedes.
