Help Needed Please!!!
There is no way in hell anyone can ever give you an honest fair price on a car, esp. classic without seeing it in the flesh, that said photos would help. By photos I mean ouitside, inside, uindercarrige, underhood as well as some closeups of key things like frame, suspension components etc. Is it a hardtop or a fastback? What's the milage? How does the motor run? Brakes? Trans? P.S.? Any leaks? How much rust? how much bondo? These are all questions you need to get an asnswer otehr than "$1500 - $7000 depending on condition"

4-door accounts for 82% of total Wrangler production
Almost everyone I know says the same thing. But I have to say I like 'em and as a matter fact back in 1996 & 1997 when I was in High school I drew more than one 4dr Wrangler with a fixed roof. The demand was always there, funny it took them six decades to realise it!

What brands need to leave the US market?
There are some gross/ugly./craptastic Mopars out ther today but between the SRT8s (Dodge Charger, 300C, Jeep G.C.) and the full size trucks I can not imagine that you like NOTHING. Granted I think 65% of Mopars are gross, here's a few that I despise: Aspen Durango Caliber Nitro Sebring I hate those five, absolutely HATE them. They're ugyl as sin and they do not have any other redeming value at all. But I would not say that Mopar deserves to leave the market, if anything thank God for the LX cars which made the Sheeple realise that RWD and kisk ass Big V8s still belong in cars! I think Fly just threw up in his mouth a little....

Zastava factory to assemble Opel Astras in Serbia
It's the YUGO car that was a crapy product of Communism, the people assembling them are capable of so much better.

The Curse hits hard
Even if they payed me to keep the car I would not want it back... A car with that many miles and that much damage is not a good cadidate to get an ass replacement. Stick a fork in her, the Prizm is done, Myae you'll get lucky and talk them into $1500 or so in which case take the money & run. In my line of work, as a trade in your car would be worth at best $250-$300 (actual cash value) as a trade in. They may tell you morem, maybve even $2000 but the other $1700 is the discount on the car you're bying. Trying to explain this to people is one of the most frustrating things ever.

Most of the cars he's considering are HUGE money-pits used. Esp. SAABs, Jettas & FWD Volvos.

My Driveway + 1?
Have fun with THAT... after a year with the Q45 I'm all set with modern Japanese cars. Nothing but electronic gremlins & irritating quirks. At least if you have a tempermental old 1970s POS you're riding in style, your car is a big comfy tank & you payed <$1000.

I was going to say the D.D. is already clean & quiet! But a 4.5 liter diesel sounds awsome.

Odd Corvette Trivia
My above answer is not serious but I can say without a doubt that TWO Corvette ZL1s were built. One yellow, one white. Both were 1969s and no others exist(ed). The yellow one has a fascinatin history including ownership to a drug lord in Florida who lost it to a police auction where it was KNOWN to be priceless and put up with an opening bid of $100K, so much for the bull$h! of "$50 buys you a 911 Turbo! at governement auctions if you call this number..." The white car belonged to a guy who drag raced it & daily drove it for a few years, it was also owned by Ottis Chandler for a while, as documented in one of my favorite books: "American Muscle Car"

Odd Corvette Trivia
1997? 1970 1977/8/9 Mary Kay pink? Square (fixed) sealed quad headlights on a 3rd gen car...? 27lbs. of bondo in the hood and rear? Twin Hood bulges?

The Curse hits hard
What's the milage on the Prizm? Over 200K IIRC... that's a car that is totalled very easily. An insurance appraiser will not even bother to take a close look, if he/she hears "over ten years old, 200K miles" it's like the kiss of death for a car with rear 1/4 panel damage.

Volkswagen may leave United States
Amen! I have way more respect for VW than any Japanese/Korean manufacturer but their products often do dissapoint me. Between the wicked funny "Veee-Duh-B" comercials and the reintroduction of the Rabbitt name I actually thought they were doing well for them selves... er ASSumed I guess.

The Curse hits hard
You live and learn, you were also probably in shock. It happens, just take it easy for the next few days. It WILL be more than the car would sell for on the open market, KBB & NADA are both high, esp. compared to the realities of resale in New England.

vintage iron
I sold the 1994 RoadMaster Estate today to a fine gentleman of MY taste.... (he hates modern cars too) He & I struck up an imediate friendship, he was reallly cool. Told me the '90s B-bodys are the only modern cars he's got any interest in. In his garage is a WICKED original 1939 Pontiac Coupe and on his front lawn is a 1941 Plymouth Sedan for sale: $3000 and he has a 1981 ElCamino (3.8 liter 229ci V6 powered) that gets worse fuel economy than his burgundy 1996 Roadmaster Estate winter beater. So my Roadmaster is now a parts car that will comtribute trim/wheels/glass/inteiror pieces to a 1996 brother and its strong & reliable LT1 V8 will be transplanted to a 1981 elCamino.
