  1. Honestly: I think the FWD layout of the Aurora, pre-04 STS & post B-body Impala SS is a huge part of what makes GM look like a clueless faceless corporation that has trouble hitting a broad side of a barn with a machinegun. Do you honestly beleive that any sales were won because of the FWD layout of these cars? Like you guys say... non enthusiasts mostly don't even care about which wheels are being driven, and us enthusiasts who covet RWD will never get near a Impala SS or a BMW figter Olds/Caddy with FWD. Sales are only lost beacuse of sideways mounted motors in luxury cars not won. I'm sorry but I've got very strong feelings about this. Even XP thinks I'm a little too RWD obsessed but damnit you gotta beleive in something. It's about balance, symetry, harmonious design and the purity of RWD. Just looking at that ugly little Datsun in my driveway puts a smile on my face because I know I have the only compact straight-six-powered, RWD, IRS, 5-speed car in town without a Lexus or BMW logo. Sorry to

  3. Ever try to pass anyone on $h!ty Rt.495 here in Mass and just as you hit an expansion joint on the highway the car reaches 6500rpm and shifts? Yeah... the damn car practically changes lanes. 300 horsepower really is about 100 too much for a FWD car. RWD and opt. AWD with a rear wheel bias would make that car awsome... oh wait they already did exactly that.
  4. Car shopping is thrilling, almost like going on a first date with a girl, you're pumped and enthusiastic, the possibilities seem endless.
  5. That sounds like a swear word in Spanish. I'm pretty sure a Crazy Spanish Speaking lady yelled that at me once after she almost rear ended me wiht her '88 Corolla with 18" rims and chrome rocker panel modlings.
  6. I think the S-type is super sexy but Marcia is convinced that Jag is still junk. She had some clinet who had the biggest XJ6 Lemon of all time. Plus when I told her Ford improved the quality at Jaguar she gave me that look like Riiiight, Ford improved quality. I know, I know, this broad is picky!
  7. You beat me to it, I was just about to post a refrigeratoe white '85 Celebrity "Estate".
  8. Well $h! I'm 26 and I feel it too. Me and Marcia would never be able to buy a house now if it wasn't for her Grandmother helping us out wiht 80% of the downpayment. Freeekin houses around here are like $350K to $400 for a starter home.
  9. I definately see your point Balthazar, but I also think that a big block Northstar for the Escalade and a flagship sedan would be a good idea. Moreso than that a "compact" V12 and balls-to-the-wall V16 for a production SIXTEEN would be awsome. Watching the movie "The Island" I got mad at GM for not producing the CIEN. Damn that thing is hotter than Florida in July.
  10. But seriously I voted undecided... First off I'm not sure he's even alive anymore, those tapes could have been made in like 2002. I think there's a chance he got blown to smitherines in one of the many covoys we blew up in Afghanistan. Whatever, if he goes another hate-filled retard will fill his place.

  12. Yes, true... the T.C. is pretty old and conservative but perhaps in Black on black it might strike her fancy. Eh... whatever. The LS is just too I wanna be a BMW when I grow up, that's me talking. She may like it but to me there's more appealing domestic sport sedans like the Catera & CTS. Te Magnum is a serious possibility as well... I'd like to stay away fromthe 2.7 but I'd take a 2.7 liter Magnum over most FWD cars.
  13. Yeah..... after not looking at it for a few hours, seeing the speed lines comming off the wheel arches look horrible. I'm still very much in favor of the inboard headlights and less pronounced rea quarter "gills".
  14. Here's one more of the '77 Olds. It's 350 Rocket powered BTW. http://i1.tinypic.com/o8dik4.jpg And thanks for all the suggestions, after tonights conversation I think a Bonneville (low miles) would be a possibility though I dread the idea of making payments on a FWD car. That's just wrong. A nicely maintained BMW would be a pleasure to work on and so it does not scare me too much thohg Balthazar does bring up a good point in terms of expense. XP is going to kick my ass for this but that Q45 looks Scrumdelicious! I think if I find a black one for the right price it's a definate possibility. I thought for a split second today about a '02 M45 I saw on a dealer's lot. Anyway I appreciate all the great sugestions, keep throwing out ideas.... the Town Car, Q45 and Catera are all great suggestions.
  15. WMJ: I've already got a red/white/red one of these in my driveway, sans light bar. XP is storing his '77 Cutty 4-dr here at my house. http://i1.tinypic.com/o8dhl3.jpg 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass:
  16. That's pretty funny... love the Machette. Rememebr that whole Machette & Baby picture thread that was like WTF? It was the old board but still funny.
  17. Yes I do.... and if you go back about 20 posts you'll see I'm selling it due to the retarded bull$h! that is required to do basic maintenence on it... also I don't like changing lanes involuntarily when the car goes from 2nd-to-3rd & 3rd-to-4th at WOT. Torque steer sucks.
  18. Those rims are perfect for that car. I have a photo I took wiht my Minolta of a 4th gen hanging up in my old room in my parents house with those exact rims. Congrats!!!
  19. I think Bobo is right... sounds the most plausable anyway.
  20. Tickets to Honda drivers make me think of a sceene I saw about 3 weeks ago... a navy blue 99? Accord coupe getting a ticket from a gold Impala U.C.

  24. Yes, the stroller is on the stone wall. As far as the Crown Vic. a buddy was going to junk it because he had problems getting it started... so I did a tune up, the car ran fine and sold it for him for $400 off my front lawn.... of was it $500? Either way he did the right thing and hooked me up wit a nice commission. Great guy.
