I Lost My Father And My Friend
That's terrible, you have our condolences. I know exactly what you mean about "understanding" your dad in your 20s. On the bright side, that's great had an opportunity to bond w/ him as a friend in the past few years. All the best dude.

Posting for Sixty8panther/Silvester...
Quick Update: Mom & baby are both fine, we've been told by several nurses and a couple relatives that she is one of the most "perfect" babies they've ever seen... complexion, eyes, round face etc. Much of that has to do with the fact that she was delivered via. Cesarean section, & prob. that my looks had little to do with her genes. Amelia and Julie should both be coming home tomorrow... and sometime soon you guys will be inundated with a dozen baby pictures. I'll try to keep it minimal. Well, off to work. I like the way you think FoG! Well... she'll be coming home in a RWD, V8 powered, six-window 2+2 coupe with non-existent B-pillars. That's a great start if you ask me, and the way Sofia is obsessed with air-cooled Beetles, who knows maybe Amelia will be into Corvairs Mozas, 'cause I'm still considering making one into my daily driver just in case fuel prices don't stay reasonable.

Thank You, one and all! I did drop a hint to S.Penguin to post a quick thread saying it was finally time. Thanx Doode! D.F. & J.C. (Dodge-Bro. G/F, not Jesus) were very nice to stop by & bring lots of presents, including a potted flower that brightened up our room very nicely. So that was very much appreciated. Even though our other friends, their hyper toddler & 16month old twins ended up over shadowing D.F.J.C.'s visit and I apologize for that. I've gotta run back to the hospital but I'll give you guys the cliff notes: After being told for the past few months that she would certainly arrive two, maybe three weeks earlier than her official November 7th due date, our daughter Amelia Mary Humaj was born on EXACTLY her due date, at 19:11 military time, so in other words Nov. 7th, 2008 @ 7:17pm. She weighed in at 3325 grams, which translates to 7lbs. 5oz. & she was 20.25" long. Fantastic reflexes, strong and quite well adjusted. After over 13 hours of labor when Amelia's heart-rate was fluctuating at dangerous levels the decision was made to to a Cesarean section. Lowell General Hospital is in the top 5% of all hospitals nationwide for their birthing & maternity department. so I'm confident all the right decisions were made. Now 28 hours later Juile is recovering nicely and Amelia was said by several nurses and doctors to be an all around fantastic, healthy baby... that's 2-for-2 since Sofia was also the exact same way. It's funny how often I spend hours daydreaming of winning the lottery & blowing it all on 1933 Cadillac V-16 dual cowl phaetons, '59 Buick Electra hardtops, any-&-every pre-war Pontiac and '69 Camaro COPO-clones... & yet when push comes to shove, sitting there dressed in scrubs, feeling helpless in the operating room; money & all material possessions meant nothing, I just wanted both of them to be okay. My adrenaline was going wild, I could not stop shaking. But, all is well that ends well. I'll post more photos soon, perhaps DF & Jessi can post a few of the ones they took, it will prob. be a few days before I have the luxury of downloading mine & Julie's digital cameras, but here's a quick photograh of 'Melia taken with my crappy cell-phone camera, in this photo she's only about 45min. old. She's way cuter now. Thanks again to all, catch you on the flip side.

SEMA 2008: Camaro Black Concept
Never mind it's a fold in the backdrop tapestry. For like 0.25 sec. I thought GM was going to offer us a hardtop option. Hope springs eternal.

SEMA 2008: Camaro Black Concept
HUH!?! The first shot clearly shows a concept style lack of B-pillar! Plz x-plain?

I'm sick of the negaivity.
WMJ: That's hilarious! I'd just say: "Cigarettes cause cancer, I was smoking alternative tobacco"

Redneck Fabulous
Don't hate , APPRECIATE! Why destroy it? Just enjoy it. There would be something super-fun about going mudding with all 4 widows down.

An open letter to whoever wins on Tuesday
Does your 500SEL do twice as much wear and tear to the roads/bridges as a Toyota Corolla and by extension does a Peterbilt 379 do five times as much damage as your Benz?

If I somehow gt $1500 of expendable income in the next few days that will be my daily driver for the winter! What's done is done, no sense burning money trying a half-assed fix. I'm sure too much has been hacked up for a quick fix with just a new frame. I would just enjoy the crazy end result and call it a day.

Intrepid to 300M
I love old school round sealed beam headlights on American classic cars & trucks, esp. tractor trailers like square nosed Peterbilts and Kenworths but the Euro cars from the 1970s and 1980s are best with their intended flush lights that are sleek and aerodynamic, instead of the archaic looking bubble gum fix of plopping round quads into a trapezoidal shaped headlight bucket. ...to each his own.

The verdict
loki: Well said. Too bad many Americans are naive enough to believe that the 2nd amendment is obsolete and by some idiotic reason the same government that they distrust and b1tch about can be trusted with their lives.

Redneck Fabulous
That DOES suck, and while I agree that it was a much nicer car when it was unmolested I would ROCK that thing like Paige & Plant. *writing down phone number*

How LOW can you GO?
Yup.... it's never a good thing when a car just sits.

So, I voted for McCain.... Because he's white.
Reg, you had me at "pillarless"

The 6.9 big bodies are the only true "big block luxo barges" made outside of the USA. HAWT!

Coolest GM car you've seen all week?
I can't believe you have not mentioned that to me... very cool. Damn I miss driving my B-59. I feel like such a loser not having it back and running yet, but at least for now, family has to come first and the time/$ is not there...

I'm sick of the negaivity.
Well said WMJ. Now you know what's fun, get a power inverter to plug into your cigarette lighter and you can run pretty much any 110v household appliance, like in my B-59 I used to plug in my huge black-light and turn it on while stuck in traffic, or charge my laptop/cell-phone/bluetooth/camera/camcorder when on a roadtrip. I've thought about bringing a toaster oven, college fridge & fog machine Homer Simpson style.

IF you could draft any hollywood star to do a nude scene...
I would hit Kate Winslet like a Peterbilt cement truck, with a severed air-brake hose, on black ice.

What's your favorite Transformers Series?
Wow... I think I lost at least two dozen brain cells reading that nonsense. It makes Comic book superhero stories believable.

With all due respect, not attacking you DF, just frustrated with the whole absurdity of broke people havnig to spend mega $ on something that doesn't effect drivability or safety on a car that is older than the driver. After 5 or 10 years Cars should not be held hostage to the emissions standards they were designed to operate at when new. It's dumb. In fact it's economic descrimination.

Yeah... ONCE AGAIN I'm 100% with Camino and Balthazar on this one. I'm with Bobo on the privacy issues the milage tax would raise. How about this? Let's stop wasting billion$ on big, ineficient gov. and put those dollar$ to good use. Why do we spend $4,000,000,000 dollars a year of OUR tax money to feed/"help" people of Africa when their own evil regimes that slaughter and enslave their own people are in many cases taking the money & buying weapons used for genocide, armored Bentleys & other evil plots... while the people whom the money is supposed to be helping would rather spit on our flag and dance like a bunch of soul-deprived animals at the "success" of the 9/11 terrorist plot. WTF, can you PLEASE explain to me, don't we take care of our own 1st?

Oh, yeah that's right... what a waste. Why spend money on a new catalitic converter when, as WMJ pointed out, the old one is recycled for $100 while you're charged $120+ for a new one just to make Al Gore happy in some empty belief that you're helping to save spotted owls or something about Polar Bears can't swim and Alaska is the size of Ohio... WMJ: Natrually I would sweep up the paladium and take it to a recycling center.
