  1. Reminds me of that early-90s blue GM used on a few cars... (think TED!!!'s Achieva)
  2. That's not sacrilege.... FWD is sacrilege!
  3. Why THANKYOU! I love the Mercedes HARDTOP, the Challenger would be quite cool if only it was a hardtop too instead of a mere 2dr sedan.
  4. I can not argue with that... I've said things to that effect too. Or, as a friend once said, I think it was XP actually: "Toyota's making a killing selling Prius-es-es mean time GM's strategy is: A HUMMER H2 IN EVERY DRIVEWAY BY 2010!" (circa 2006)
  5. The HSC was pretty cool... nothing earth shattering. Something along those lines, esp. stylistically, should have replaced the NSX in like 1997 or 1999.
  6. They're too new to need replacement at this point. It's not a myth, wait a few more years.... do you know anyone with a Prius that has 100,000, 120,000 or more miles on it? I suppose you think Toyota has perfected the art of black magic and made a battery that will NEVER need replacement? Now THAT is silly. I understand people's "logic" I just think it is quite illogical and in some cases, plain DUMB to buy a Prius. I may HATE Honda but if you're a 23 year old recent college grad that buys a Civic for the high MPG and four doors then at least you're getting what you were promissed by the manufacturer! If you think Ford, GM or Mopar would EVER get a break from the press, be it CNN, MT, FOX25 news, C&D, R&T or whatever, for under-delivering on MPGs like the Prius has than you're not being honest with yourself. C'mon Moltar...
  7. '56 Bel Air 4-dr hardtop? Be still, my heart! The 55-57 tri-five GM pillarles four doors were so gorgeous that I'd actually prefer a 4 door over a 2 door, plus you almost NEVER see the 4 doors this side of 1974.
  8. Nothing wrong with any of those.... despite my slight disdain for F*RD. I'm pretty sure they frown on four letter words starting with 'F' here on C&G.
  9. Too bad... sux. Hopefully an euthusiast will snatch it up and it will live to see at least another 31 years. Me, I've got bigger fish to fry, need to get my B-59 running & as of late I CAN NOT get that '38 Dodge out of my mind. I'm thinking the guy will take $3,000 or so if I show up with cash, so now all that remains is winning a scratch ticket for $7000 so I can give half to Julie and use the other half for ANOTHER toy. XP: You're right, those things are near non- existant here except once in a while at some random carshow at some abandoned parking lot in a has-been town out in western mass. I do remember seeing them from time to time when I was a 8/9/10 in the late 1980s.
  10. $25,000 real world price for a Prius + $6000-$7000 additional for every set of batteries you have to replace (every 100K miles) + stigmata of driving one of the ugliest $h!boxes on the road =/= good value 1980s M.B. 240D w/ 5-speed = good value if you want cheap fuel costs, room for five adults in a safe package... or if you don't care about driving a cramped $h!box then get a Rabbit diesel or Honda Civic/CRX.
  11. 21 mpg in a 4th gen. T/A is a big part of the reason why if you buy a Prius you're obviously suffering from a paper-cut of the vagina and did NO RESEARCH!
  12. AH-nold is no pu$$y!
  13. I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! I MUST HAVE!!!! oh, wait.... I MUST MAKE MY OWN!!!! (BTW: notice the GM pickup!)
  14. Yup, SBC-350s are a fantastic way to motivate almost ANYTHING with wheels!
  15. co-worker at UPS ~ "I'm 2/16th Lithuanian" ME: oh, so you're 1/8th? ~ "Yes, except I had a great-granmother & also a great-greatfather from there so that's TWO-sixteenth..."
  16. I always liked these two ideas, not outrageously creative but a solid idea of making 1+1 = > 2. RWD would make the already cool 95-99 G-body Riviera & gorgeous, sleek, sharp-dressed '67 Eldo into pure perfection... Well, so long as it also involved taking a sawzall to the B-post on the Rivy, installing some rear-side window regulators, custom cut glass & some fabrication. Oh, and BTW, you know EVERY good UPS-er knows that PUSHING IS THE PROPER METHOD OF MOVING LARGE OR HEAVY OBJECTS!!! NEVER PULLING!!! PULLING PRODUCES EXCESS STRAIN ON THE BACK, JOINTS, MUSCLES & WASTES ENERGY.* So in that vein I guess it's about time everything except for the Mini, Civic, Aveo & other econoboxes convert to RWD, it's for everyones good! * that's straight out the UPS (pre-loader) "methods handbook", based on 101 years of service. :AH-HA_wink:
  17. For you GM/Pontiac/Zeta fans here's a G8, registered & apparently daily driven.
  18. PPPFpfpffpf, that's actually the fourth one I've seen, the first being on Rt.128 about a month ago when I was driving out to take a preliminary looksie AT THE 500SEC & get a test TEST-DRIVE. It was black, on a car carrier. The next two I saw were also black, one on a car carrier being bulled by a Freightliner and the other at some dealership. (in Boston IIRC) check it here: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=25065
  19. Kowalski test drove one recently too.... Here's my photos of the first & fourth Challenger I've seen in the flesh. (or as Balthy would say: "in the steel") This one was on the back of a car carrier being pulled by a Peterbilt 379. About 15min. & 5 miles before I saw the MB 500SEC for the 1st time. And here's the Orange one that I see ALL over Lowell.
  20. Trade you straight up for a much more practical "modern" Mercedes hardtop! I'm just throwing that out there... just in case... ok, well... you know where to find me if you change your mind or you know, whatever. Seriously...
  21. Now THAT is a Ford worthy of praise... I'm so @%#$&* jelaous right now my face is turning green
  22. - 193(7) 16-cylinder [452 ohv V16] LaSalle Dual Cowl Phaeton - 1959 Buick Electra 225 Dual Cowl Phaeton, powered by an ALL ALUMINUM 430 cu.in. V16* - "1997" Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Coupe HARDTOP with a 6-forward gear automatic trans. - "1997" Buick Roadmaster 2-door HARDTOP with an LS1, IRS & 6-speed manual * if you have to ask HOW? about the Motor then you do not belong on a GM forum.
  23. From High School, circa 1995 or so... (spoken by airhead brunette) "Vietnam was a WAR not a country!"
  24. Now THESE are four Pontiacs I'm currently lusting after, my wallpaper at home. http://img370.images
  25. Nice... great example of a modern Pontiac. Not my cup of tea as it is way too new and I've outgrown the '80s GM cheeseballs, but it does have great MPG potential with the 307 Rocket motor, as unoriginal as that is. I'd love to pick up a Pontiac sometime in the near future but it would have to be either a 4dr/2dr hardtop or, cooler still a pre-war variety Tin Indian.
