  1. The good: CTS, esp. the coupe... (delete rant about the $@%#ing B-pillar) :flamed: Escalade, esp. the EXT HHR, Silvesrado HD, Corvette (obviously the Camaro, but that's '10) GMC anything, esp. Sierra HD & Acadia Pontiac G8!!!! Buick Enclave 300C, Challenger, Charger, Magnum, Viper Lincoln MKX (that baby-crossover thing) Infiniti G37 coupe, FX37 & FX50! BMW 5-series, and mot of the M-cars Mercedes Benz.... pretty much everything, although I HATE the CSL's thick, triangular B-pillar Porsche has a few good lookers... The bad: Pretty much 50% of Ford's lineup 65% of Toyota's lineup The ugly: Honda Element Honda Ridgeline Honda Pilot Acura ANYTHING: Toyota Prius: Nissan Maxima
  2. I voted for the (452 ci, ohc V16) Cadillac, as should YOU! http://autoshow.autos.msn.com/autoshow/peb...h2008/vote.aspx This poll is so damn arbitrary and randomly nonsensical the only reason why I cared was to give props to the V16 powered pre-war car, and by extension GM/Caddy.
  3. L.A. Point taken, my panties are unbunched.
  4. Don't shoot the messanger: (taken SLIGHTLY out of context) read the full story here: http://health.msn.com/health-topics/alzhei...5&GT1=31003 And on a related note I love the "meat-atarian" Wendy's commercials. Too bad Dave Thomas is dead cause I'd like to shake his hand. Wendy's is the Cadillac of junk food. I can't get enough of those deeeeeeee-licious bacon cheezburgirz! I need to get (or make) that bumper sticker that says: FOR EVERY ANIMAL YOU DO NOT EAT, I EAT THREE!
  5. ....and (former?) Avalanche owner.
  6. Yeah... those stupid Fighter Planes.... YF22s are such $h!piles! Seriously, why are HUDs lame?
  7. I save brain cells for much more important 411. For the record when the Avalanche was launched in cy2001 I was one of the first to drive one in the north east, outside of the guys who delivered them to the dealers high atop Peterbilt 379 car carriers & KW900s.... And I always knew my $hit as a carsalesman, I was the go-to guy on (useless and otherwise) facts. I just do not give a flying crap about anything post-1973 anymore.
  8. BOLD PREDICTION: By the time this thread is done, at like page 27 in three months, every single car from 1974 to presant will be named with the possible exception fo the Bugatti Veyron & McLaren F1. "Diamonds in the Rough" does not make me think of V8 BMWs. I'd love to have a V8 BMW 7-series but they're almost never dirt cheap unless they're really ROUGH and beat to f***, which negates the point of this thread. Not trying to be argumentative but that's the way (I think?) Camino is trying to steer the thread, that's why I did not mention my favorite used, obtainable modern hardtops: 1980s Mercedes Benz hardtops, been dreaming of one for YEARS and now I got me one of my own. This category woud include: (again prob. does not belong in this thread?) - MB 300CE and - MB 380SEC / 500SEC / 560SEC http://www.jwfloormercedesclassics.com/Car...hp?productid=13
  9. Hi Vader 1/3rd of a 100: I am one of the nutjobs that GMTruckGuy was talking about. Your two BOF, RWD, GM-made trucks* seem to paint a good picture though, as does your (great) choice of an Avalanche for a future product. Trading in a 4.3 V6 for a (4.8/5.3/6.0/8.1 liter) V8 means you mean business! Welcome, fellow GM fanatic. * I don't take this term lightly... a Ridgeline is NOT a truck.
  10. It's just what the mainstream radio has been saying 'round here.
  11. Some of those members of that PriSSS forum are grade-A morons! Typical Toyopet-humpers! WHATZ a PHUNERAL KOACH!?
  12. Yes indeed Moltar, and those night-time interior shots are exemplary. The azure-blue & warm orange/reds work very well indeed. Oh crap, I'm starting to sound like YOU guys... I think there's a small hole in the back of my neck.
  13. {my brain} .................................[box]
  14. I'm a fan of yellow.... clean, nice lemon yellow not mustard yellow. And if the mustard yellow with blackout-everything is not enough to turn me off completely the non-matching burgundy interior IS. Gross.... Sorry, but this is less appealing to me than the average rotted to the belt line rub-strip, rusted shut tailgate hinged '80s ElCamino from the New England States, powered by a 229 cubic inch V6.
  15. I always call it a "pr-ISSS" like Opie and Anthony. (Anthony drives a Cadillac Escalade BTW) ---- NOw as far as that "Prius Convertible" it's not a convertible if it has not only FRAMED doors but $% permanent roof structure from the top of the b-pillars! It's like a "pseudo-webasto-roof" sardine-can special like some French pile of garbage from the 1970s.
  16. Yup.... 2008 sucks, there's not too many cheap '67 Camaros, let alone '32 Fords kicking around, there's a LOT of truth in your statement, however it's NOT entirely true. In the past three years I've found dozens of cars that YOU guys on this forum would consider extinct, like an unmolested '62 Buick Special, not one but TWO '84 Datsun Maxima sedans, both with the 5-speed manual trans., dirt cheap RWD luxury yachts both classic (Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles...) & contemporary like my current MB & the Infiniti Q45... But most of today's kids can't think outside the box, just like their Camry driving parents they aim LOW even when they aim HIGH. Avalons and Ford 500s are NOT cars to aspire to, even if you grew up poor you can have higher standards than that. CAR fanatics should be people who think outside the box, not go with convention and just do like their neighbors. The world needs another Civic with a cold air intake & oversized turbo like I need a hole in my head!
  17. The more I look at the G8 the more I want one. This is a very starnge feeling. A modern GM sedan that does not suck.,...at all!?
  18. Camino: I get it but you gotta remember people these days lack imagination & therefore are often times easily impressed. This is why kids spend as much time as it would take YOU to drop a Poncho 455, 6-spd & custom IRS in a '79 Sunbird, just to drop a 1.8 liter four cylinder V-tec into a (still FWD) Honda Civic that left the factory in Nippon with a 1.6 liter four cylinder motor, apply 4 square yards of decals, custom deep-dish 20" rims, 75 yards of day-glo-green wire insulation tubing & better still: a dozen+ TV screens in every nook & cranny. My example of garden variety "Phantoms" - '89 Grand Prix Turbo Convertible (3.1 Turbo GP + Olds Cutlass Supr. ragtop) - '83 Imperial (bustleback) pillar-less hardtop, 440-powered - '80s Mercedes Benz "560SECL"? pillarless 4-door hardtop* * the one I had in my signature up until yesterday... any of you care to tell us how the crazy germans managed to sink all that glass into the rear doors? I've got two ideas.
  19. Brainstorm: ULTRA-super-awesome-MPG commuter car: Miata from the junkyard + drivetrain from MB 240D. B)
  20. $3200 for ANY diesel Benz with under 100,000 miles is a great deal these days... as long as it's not any more rusty than the Sanford & Son truck. I could not see myself turning down a great deal on a squish-bang MB only to buy a VW, esp. some '80s FWD, lightweight VW. They're not even in the same ballpark. After almost gettin killed in my Datsun due to an accident I could not have prevented I do not see myself ever buying a lightweight car unless there is some otehr SERIOUS incentive... (e.g. Pre-war)
  21. The cover art has officially been dubbed: "The metal Vagina"
  22. Here's the REAL Tumbler.... (youtube video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU3FpVKWVdM...feature=related Here's why this video & a few of the other included links, kick a$$: 1. The real Tumbler is SBC powered... probably a very close cousin to the ZZ350 crate motor from the GM high-perf. catalog that powered my'68 Camaro. (voted one of the 10 most significant motors in Hot Rodding) 2. A 1990s POS Toyota Tercel is semi-destroyed by the GM powered Stealth-F1-Tank. 3. This awesome vehicle was not just some CGI or 1/5th scale model baloney, this was a running & driving vehicle driven by stuntmen, crashed, repaired, jumped, scratched up, dented, repaired, driven at high speed & driven to thrill... the chases were real, the car was moving under it's own power & the special effects involved real cop cars, background traffic etc.
  23. Oh I understand.... I wouldn't consider that a realistic trade anyway. My MB is pretty damn cool but your Pre-War car eclipses almost every single car on this forum, possibly even including my B59.
  24. Excuse me for a sec... I think, eww... I just threw up in mouth a little bit!
  25. Ever hear the term "don't drink & drive..."? :AH-HA_wink: Back before everyone workled 3.5 jobs and everyone got used to driving while talking on the cell phone, eating a burger, drinking a 78oz coke & texting on the cell phone while looking for an MP3 on their ipod, people did not drink while driving like we do... and when they did they put their cup in their crotch between their legs. You wanna know what really pushed cup-holders into the mainstream? hot coffee is usually.... hot.
