  1. I wish that I could buy up Chrysler as well. Get better materials. Produce more of those awesome concepts, and put them on the road. The hardware of other platforms is there, so it's feasible. Firepower=Viper among others. This is my main argument for why Chrysler needs to be All-American or at least its own, independent international company a la GM and Ford. Well, on second thought, Chrysler may hook back up with Mitsubishi as soon as DaimlerBenz lets them off the leash. (For an example, Chrysler and Mitsubishi were woprking on the design of the first generation Eclipse, but eventually a Japanese design was chosen. Hell, the non-turbocharged cars featured Chrysler's 2.0L DOHC 16V I4 with 140 horsepower. But teeming up with Mitsu again can't be worse than what's happening now.
  2. It is a pretty cool song, I have the album, but I bought it for a different song, and not "Promiscuous" either, lol. It's cool to me... literally. When I listen to it, I get an image of walking outside in heavily falling snow with no wind. Just me, and the snow. Solitude and quiet. Loneliness with hope. Strange, as I do like it. But, I'm quite the odd person. Sort of hard to pin down. I like to keep them guessing too, lol. Like in my musica collection, you will find Celine Dion, Matchbox 20, Lifehouse, Creed, Cher, Madonna, Enya, Dido, Third Eye Blind, and others. I think I prefer female vocalists, hehe.
  3. What is it with domestic manufacturers not offering manual transmissions in most of their products? If the others can do it, then America can do it better.
  4. As if this would be any surprise. Of course it looks cheap and unpleasant. It is, it will be. And on top of everything, although it's better looking than the Charger, its mecahnicals are technically inferior, and it's still ugly. One would really think and hope that Chrysler could have learned from the success of the 300 and apply quality, affordability, and desirability into all of its products. Or perhaps they need to remember that all that is needed to sell something is a great look. Like the LH Mk I cars. I'm sure that the early LH's had a like, 100% failure rate of the dreadful Ultramatic transmission. Maybe they need Bernhard back, or to be in American hands again. Who knows about what needs to be truly done, other than higher the old designers back, get new ones, or stop forcing the current ones into creating such hodge-podge crap pieces. Maybe get rid of the bean counters that are plundering Chrysler's lower market cars. Where is the innovative Chrysler I love that is daring AND attractive? Just a couple examples of Chrysler is actually capable of, but not allowed to, I'm sure. How could they possibly have better looking products than Mercedes-Benz?
  5. Duh, I've sat in one. The only way a person couldn't "try" to sit in one is if someone were too damn fat to. Not everything screams cheap. The stereo head unit and climate control knobs seemed niced. The design is fantastic, but the materials do need improving. Something along the lines of the soft plastice that's in the 300 would be nice. Worst in class materials, maybe. But at least its design is unique, and there are enough soft points to prevent chafing or bruising. Unless of course, one plans on slamming his or her head on the door or dash panels where there happens to be a lack of soft touch material. Then I would feel no pity.

  8. Good. GM should do a nice minivan. An honest and full attempt. Featureful and innovative with good looks and a great interior.
  9. Right on. At the Opel page (Opel Home- Germany) a couple years ago they had a dark green; DigitalGrun or something like that. Unfortunately, that colour doesn't seem to be offered currently.

They're doing it for the Astra, but it may have more similarities (and size helps, no doubt) to North American architectures that made it a bit easier to Federalize the Astra, or they were planning to bring the Astra all along, and that's why they did it half way through the Astra's life cycles when updates were made.

  12. Read this in the Detroit Free Press while at work today. Made me the happiest boy in the world to know that we fianlly get the Astra. Even the 5-door isn't frumpy!
  13. Haha! We didn't get anything but rain here in Coldwater. Sure, there was a thin coating of ice on some trees and wires, but that all melted in an hour. Today (Monday) is the first day that we have had any accumulation at all. Started snowing this afternoon gently, and hasn't stopped yet. But it is really light, and grass is still showing.
  14. Finally. Who cares if he did get something out of this, at least he didn't succeed with what he wanted. This is great that GM doesn't have to worry about evil Captain Kirk.
  15. Even Motor Trend (in their first drive, who knows how that will change) stated that the interior of the Aura has matched the the Japanese car standard norms, which themselves have all but caught up to the Volkswagen (and its similarly sized Passat, for instance).
  16. I thought that it was a rather disappointing review on the design itself. I'm "sure" he'd praise the designs of the new Civic or Camry though. Sure, the interior isn't going to be as good as the concepts, but the matierals used within the Aura are much better than any other mainstream GM product that I've encountered.
  17. Oh, I see. I was just wondering, as this Chevrolet Vectra has the same styling as the Opel Astra sedan that was recently unveiled, but possesses the same interior styling as the technically larger (midsize) Vectra of Europe.
  18. More products with sleek, passionate and attractive design. A better budget for improved interior materials. Most of the dash of the lucerne is much harder than any of that in the LaCrosse, which is both bland and unattractive.
  19. Sebring? Piece of crap how? Because it's ugly? Because you won't ever mistake it for anything else? The only thing going for the Accord is its interior design (don't know about craftsmanship or texture, haven't cared to sit in it), powertrain(s), and chassis. But its exterior design is an offensive kind of bland, and it just blends in. Perhaps Chrysler scored on the distinctiveness of the Sebring, but not in a good way.
  20. I don't care if the Lexus is more reliable than the Mercedes-Benz. Even if the S-class isn't at all beautiful what with its gigantic Ford Focus-like fender bulges and bulge-butt, it's still the more emotional package, with what, around a century of engineering experience behind them? Lexus is only a wish, a dream of Toyota. Sure, they may be reliable, handsome, and high quality luxury, it seems only like a response of "I want to be there and do that too, but I can't because of my badge" or "I want more money and power!!" But I would still pick the Audi. All weather conquering, subtle (aside from big mouth up front), luxurious, and modern. Audi would really have to screw up the next A8/A8 L to make make it unappealing. Audi has really seemed to transform itself in the last ten years. They managed to further separate themselves from VW Group (until Piech screwed that up with the Phaeton) and turn themselves into a purveyor of fine, beautiful, modern, and sublte luxury sport sedans. Audi can only be seen to improve.
  21. I have to say that my personal experience is different so far. One of my best friends (that I've known since I was 4 years old) is a lesbian, and we talk about everything, and I think, wait, I know that she is a great person, and very friendly. Just don't actually do something to piss her off. Even I would be worried! But, she's my Jenn. She knows EVERYTHING about me. In fact, I am actually going to go see her this weekend down in Indianapolis. (She moved, so now I have to drive around 2 hours to get to her)
  22. I'd choose the Audi over any of them. It's not gaudy like the other Germans, and it's just one damn sexy automobile. Plus, quattro and the finest interiors in the business? Oh yeah.

  24. Except for that damn C-pillar applique, this looks very sharp. I like the projector beam headlamps of this. I hope that they are Xenons, this is a SEMA car, and it would complete the update to the interior of the headlamps, in my opinion.
  25. No, not the first time. The previous generation shared the front clip (and interiors, chassis, etc.) of the sedan. The first generation (JA-based, successor to the K-based J-body LeBaron Coupe and Convertible) only shared the interior design/dash. The exterior of the Sebring versus Cirrus was quite different, and technically befitting of the different nameplate. I agree that the Three-pointed Star is making this differentiation between itself and the "inferior, boxy American cars" bearing the Five-pointed Star/Wings way too much. I read on Allpar.com that Mercedes-Benz considered Chrysler to be a maker of boxy, unappealing automobiles. Guess M-B was behind the times in the `90's. Chrysler made some of their sexiest, swoopiest cars and concepts during this time period. A time when a Mercedes-Benz sedan made a brick building look curveaceous. Please. The only reason I really feel that some of Chrysler's latest styling is suffering might be because they need to live "down to" Daimler's expectations of the company. Afterall, Chrysler ultimately needs to phone "home" to Stuttgart anymore to do anything, don't they?
