    2021 Cadillac Escalade Leaks Out

...Big and brawny like its siblings...

Just a day after the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe debuted the Cadillac Escalade has also leaked out online.  As expected, the side profile still looks like the Tahoe/Suburban, however it apparently does still sport the vertical tail lights of the current generation vehicle.  Inside is a decidedly upgraded interior. The gauge cluster is dual screen and flows into the infotainment system.  Like the Chevy twins, the column shifter is gone, in this case replaced by Cadillac's Precision Control Shift. A dial to control the infotainment system similar to that on the XT6 is visible as well.

The Escalade will be powered by the same 6.2 liter V8 offered as an upgrade in the Suburban and Tahoe, but a supercharged version could make its way into the engine room at a later date as well finally giving the Escalade a V version. Expect the same wheelbase and space increases gained on the Chevies.

The Escalade will be debuting officially soon, so keep it tuned here for more updates as they come out.

Yep, the VW Touareg was a Porsche Cayenne through and through, same chassis and AWD, VR6, 8 spd trans. Only difference was the front clip and rear taillights, sides were identical along with doors, mirrors, rear quarters, rear hatch as well. VW actually asked Porsche to build it for them well before they owned Porsche. Just facts I thought I would drop for y'all! :D

By that standard, why even sell the Touareg when VW can simply sell the Cayenne and keep all the profits?  BTW, isn't an Audi A5 similar to the Cayenne?

Those were the 1st gen models, a long time ago.  The current 3rd gen models of each are sufficiently differentiated.

Touareg is gone in the US as of 2017 replaced by the Atlas. I'm talking about the '04 -'17 Touareg and '04 - '17 Cayenne which were identical mechanically and shared many body parts as well. It's why the Touareg was so expensive at $50K base MSRP and didn't sell well compared to the competition.

That's why the Touareg is gone in here in the US, priced too high compared to competition. Didn't' sell well at all, solid SUV, but way overpriced.

Audi Q7 is a slightly longer Cayenne platform, but doesn't share many if any body parts like Touareg/Cayenne did.

This is nicely imposing; textbook Escalade ~

    Screen Shot 2020-02-06 at 10.29.01 PM.png

It looks from this shot that the light pipes again extend thru the outer edges of the headlights, like the previous gen. Would like to see a lit shot to know. Regardless, the lower light pipes continue the recent Cadillac look completely.

Saw a Cadillac coming toward me today in the grey fog, it was over a half mile away yet those light pipes immediately ID'd it. ?

The more I look at the Elmiraj, the more I am confident that Cadillac FUCKED UP!

Elmiraj should have been the face of the XT6 and the new Escalade as well as the CT line.

Wish I had the Photoshop skills to put this nose on the 2021 Escalade. I feel it has the proper presence and elegance that an Uber Luxury SUV should have.

I wish they had built the Elmiraj...a large beautiful 2dr ht coupe...M-B and Bentley can build large 2dr ht coupes...why can't Cadillac?  I know, I know...Americans want FWD/transverse engine CUVs...

    • Will be interesting to see how things play out. A compact 2 or 4 door EV pickup is perfect for inner city owners and especially for suburban folks that want to run to Lowe's or Home Depot to get stuff for the house and not have all the maintenance of an ICE mid or full size pickup.  Hyundai has their Santa Cruze EV pickup coming towards the end of this year unless they delay it. It seems the EV Pickup based on the Kia EV9 might also get delayed and Genesis with their Escalade competitor GV90 EV SUV in normal and extended length might also get delayed due to stupidity in DC. As such, I think we are headed into some hard times ahead due to inflation caused by Tariffs as well as the massive lay off's due to over hiring in the tech sector. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out, sadly American Auto industry is not going to be what it has been nor is the Japanese auto industry as both are way behind where China and Korea are at with their 800V EV portfolio. Based on sales this year, American, Japanese and European auto companies are seeing massive decline in auto sales in China where Chinese and Korean auto sales are booming. Incompetent leadership stuck in the 50's and 60's led by IQ73 is going to hurt America big time! Course while there is plenty of stories about Donald Trump being tested in his high school years at the military acadamy with an IQ of 73, nothing to validate if the stories are true or not other than to point out his own extreme nature of proving that he thinks he is the smartest person ever as president. End result is no matter how smart or dumb he may actually be, he is destroying America and the auto industry along with hurting the tech sector. A global economy will not be stopped and at this point, there is no going back to Empire building years.
    • Yeah they are making an EV Hyundai Santa Cruze.  The Santra Cruze starts at $29,500 and they are on pace to sell about 29,000 of them this year.  And that with a gas powertrain that buyers tend to prefer over EV.   This isn't a big volume segment and I imagine Ford is just going to cut into Maverick sales. What Ford should have done is said we are building a Rav4/Model Y competitor and it will be under $30k.  Those are the 2 best selling vehicles in the world, they should have gone right after them and taken their sales. It won't be that bad.  It won't bomb so hard, but also 60 years later people remember the Edsel.  25 years from now no one will remember the Ranchero, much like no one really remembers the Subaru Baja outside of a small cult following.
    • Many other news stories say this is a true compact EV pickup truck that is to be named Ranchero. Everything we know about the 2027 Ford Ranchero EV Ford’s Next EV Pickup Might Bring Back the Ranchero — And It’s Not Just Nostalgia RANCHERO Trademark of Ford Motor Company. Application Number: 019228685 :: Trademark Elite Trademarks https://fordauthority.com/2025/08/ford-ev-pickup-could-be-called-ranchero/ Seems that the Ranchero Trademark is to cover a Ranchero Pickup, Ranchero SUV and Ranchero Car. Very interesting indeed! Also good info, but these folks say it will be a 400V system only which is bummer.
