    Subaru of America, Inc. Sets September Sales Record

    • Subaru continues ten month streak of month-over-month sales gains
    • September sales 32% increase over 2011
    • Year-to-date sales of 245,463 represent a 25 percent increase over 2011

    CHERRY HILL, N.J., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc. today reported sales of 27,683 vehicles for the month of September, a 32 percent increase over September 2011. The company also reported year-to-date sales of 245,463, which represents an impressive 25.5 percent increase over prior year.

    September sales for newly-refreshed Outback and Legacy models have increased 39 percent and 31 percent, respectively, over September 2011. Also, September sales for Impreza were up 211 percent over September 2011; year-to-date sales for Impreza have increased 155 percent.

    "Subaru sales continue to rise because we have the right product, the right positioning and a strong retail network," saidThomas J. Doll, executive vice president and COO, Subaru of America, Inc. "XV Crosstrek, the most fuel efficient crossover vehicle in America, has just arrived in showrooms and we know this vehicle will further fuel our sales growth this fall."

    "With such strong September sales, Subaru is in an excellent position to exceed 300,000 units this year," said Bill Cyphers, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc.

    I can understand them selling to the gamer crowd, but really their cars are so tiny and have a lack of room for us bigger people. No one could ever sit behind me.

    I wonder if anyone ever really thinks about checking to see if people can fit behind the front people let alone be comfy. The back seats suck.

    It is a defacto two seat car....

    I was reading the Guiness book of world records while eating dinner at a local resteraunt. Worlds skinniest teenage girl was 5 pounds, eleven ounces....on her seventeenth birthday...or about half what my miane coon cat weighs....granted Maine Coons are on the large size for cats...

    That girl would fit in the back, my cat wouldn't.

    That girl wieghed thirteen pounds (seriously) when she turned nineteen....she would be way to fat for a BRZ back seat.

      No, I am saying when you look at the grand whole picture, EVs will outlast ICE. If you follow the link on what that write up is based on and I guess I should have just done this as it has far better info, but on the extreme end of 1.8% degradation, you still get a solid output in the way the EV will drive and handle. EV Battery Health Insights: Data From 10,000 Cars | Geotab This gives a pretty solid picture and even they state that every year the batteries get better and better, and degradation is reduced. Picking on just a few negative points without looking at the bigger picture is just one way a person can read this, I look at it as the positive of a less complex auto lasting longer than a far more complex auto. I feel strongly that Hybrids, while they have their place for long distant driving, is NOT the right solution for most who just drive locally and at that average 40 miles a day for commuting.

      That is all the problems with Nissan Leaf current generation and Tesla where you have no insulation or proper management of the battery pack. Those auto companies that have gone 800V have done their work that it is not the issue it is stated to be.

      What's even more ridiculous is that you basically need a climate controlled garage to really keep your battery in proper condition. So if I bought an EV without a garage, it will degrade faster than having a garage. It's a shame people buy EVs and then drive to work and park their cars OUTSITE...🙄 "Hot climates also increase battery degradation, so keep your EV in the shade if possible, especially when charging it."

      So you're telling me your Escalade is making around 220hp now?!? Or would you say it feels just about as strong as it did when you first bought it? I would bet a good amount that it's making around 90% of it's original power numbers.  And one great thing about ICE is that they aren't getting worse year over year for just sitting or hardly getting used. Your article states that a battery will degrade year over year regardless of it being used or not.
