Wow...almost 23k in options...the single biggest one on there is a $5200 wheel (and tire?) set..ridiculous. $400 for an iPod and USB adapter? Should be standard.. Some of the options are nonsense-- $780 for 'illuminated door sills' and $2400 for 'active cruise control'.

BMWs have long been spendy with the options, though..

I priced a 135 up over $40k the other day, and that wasn't even fully loaded.

Yeah that comes to about $48,995 ONLY fully loaded. For a car size of a Civic.

This is the reason that an all-RWD, all-Performance Pontiac needs to exist.

BMWs are stupid expensive for what you get, that gives a proper Pontiac lineup plenty of margin for profit while looking like the bargain of the year.

Pontiac needed RWD Alpha yesterday. There is a market for$35k max small RWD sedan which can dance like a BMW and yet save money in the pockets. Even BMW missed it with the 1, GM better get it. And if they put the RWD Caddy Alpha, that platform will even get a better profit.

A fully loaded TL is $38K, and it comparably equipped to the 335i.
