MLB Playoffs

In the AL we've got:

Tampa Bay Rays (97-65) vs. Chicago White Sox (89-74)

and

Los Angles Angels of Anaheim (100-61) vs. Boston Red Sox (95-67)

In the NL:

Chicago Cubs (97-64) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (84-78)

and

Philadelphia Phillies (92-70) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (90-72)

My picks (because I've been so good at this  ) are Rays over Sox, Angels over Sox, Cubs over Dodgers, Phillies over Brewers. Then the Rays over the Angels, Cubs over Phillies, then Cubs over Rays. What can I say, I'm a homer.

Also, I'm thrilled beyond belief to see no New York teams in the playoffs, if only the Bo Sox has slipped out of the picture, that would have been perfect.

Discuss.

Here go my picks, and I'm elated not to have to predict a game that contains any team from New York... :P

ALDS: TB over CHW, BOS over LAA

NLDS: MIL over PHI, CHC over LAD

ALCS: BOS over TB in 6

NLCS: CHC over MIL in 5

WS: BOS over CHC in 7

Chitown and LaLaLand ... co-baseball capitals of the world, apparently. Too bad the 2 Chicago teams didn't play the 2 LA teams at the same time in the first round!

I called my cousin in the LA area...she said that she can't wait for the playoffs to begin. She is a HUGE Dodgers fan. No, we didn't make any friendly wagers....

The Cubs weren't able to pitch (game 1), field (game 2) or hit (all three games).

Usually every year something weird happens that reinforces the belief that the Cubs are "cursed." Not this year.

We'll just call them the "Choke-ago" Cubs after this series. :neenerneener:

Actually, I wouldn't even call it a choke...that's too nice.

I wrote up a "rant" of sorts...may post it next time I'm online here...we'll see ;).

Damn Cubs

Anyways, the more I see the Rays, the more they impress me. They're just solid throughout. I wouldn't be surprised if they win 2 of the 3 in Boston then clinch at home. I also wouldn't be shocked if Boston went on a tear, they're just so powerful. That said, I think Tampa Bay is going to win the AL pennant and Philadelphia comes out of the AL.

You see my rant? ;)

Fixed that for ya ;).

But, I agree...and, if that IS the case, GO TAMPA BAY! A World Series win for them and Florida teams would have won every single playoff series they've been in ... Florida Marlins, 1997 and 2003 ... and Rays this year.

Course, I was hoping for a Red Sox/Dodgers series...with all of the former Red Sox on the LA team...and, of course, Joe Torre....he he.
