So my co-worker goes down to Dodge. They have 4 new R/T 's. Takes it out. likes it and they want 2500.00 over sticker. Are they nuts. They just layed off 25% of their company. Reminds me of how retarded Pontiac was when the GTO came out inj 04 and we all know how that ended....jerks

The DEALERSHIP didn't "lay off 25% of their company"...

It's called GREED. lol

Greed. Disgusting, inexcusable greed.

The reason why dealers keep pulling

this B.S. is because there's always a

dumb mofo with more money than

brains, common sense or self-respect

who pays the markup only to own the

car a week earlier than his neighbor.

I remember when the PTCruiser came out, it had markups! BIG ones! I was astonished!

I think the dealers figure it is a no lose situation, if they can't sell it for a silly markup right away they sell it at a reduced price (while STILL being marked up) and tell you that you are getting a deal, comparative to the silly original markup.

It's the dealerships greed that turns off the average consumer. Who's going to wait a year or so for the markups to go away when they can get the same car used at a fraction of the price a year down the road..?

What's real stupid is that Chrysler isn't getting any of this money. Chrysler, like GM, often try to underprice their cars to keep them "value leaders" and frankly I have no problem with dealerships doing the market adjustments if the parent company is too stupid to price their product right.

Market adjustments my ass. It is called screwing people Croc. To me that is a croc of $h!. Greedy bastards, if you want to pay sticker that is one thing but paying more sticker is dumb especially when the economy is in the dumper. Don't even get me started about pricing products right all three Camaro, Mustang and Challenger are priced about right. It is not that they aren't priced right it is the fact that greedy dealers do this. No self respecting person would pay more. Listen it is common sense nothing wrong with making a profit and they will at sticker trust me. But honestly I have yet to see someone pay more for a car than sticker. It is dishonest because the window reads one thing and the dealer says another. It is the this attitude lets screw everyone that gets us all in trouble especailly domestic automakers with hots cars, geeeeeee remember the Solstice and GTO. Once agian its not that they didn't price there product right they did, it is affordable and even so affordable some pig dealers (whom I would never buy from) will raise the price above sticker on car that has been on lots for over 6 months. That is stupid, then again it is a free market and people are free to be stupid but I disagree with you none the less.

How long do these 'market adjustments' last- 6 months if the dealer was halfway sensible ? Should ChryCo price the Challenger $2500 more now so it's $2500 too high in 6 months, or adjust the stickers every quarter or every month ?
