Porn airs during Super Bowl

Recommended Posts

(CNN) -- Super Bowl fans in Tucson, Arizona, caught a different kind of show during Sunday's big game.

Just as Cardinals' superstar Larry Fitzgerald watched himself sprint into the end zone on the stadium's Jumbotron during Sunday's Super Bowl, 10 seconds of eye-popping pornographic imagery "flashed" across the screens of those watching at home.

"We are mortified by last evening's Super Bowl interruption, and deeply apologize to our customers for the inappropriate programming," Comcast Cable said in a written statement.

"Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act," the statement added.

Comcast, and several local television stations that carried the signal, say they are currently investigating what caused the interruption.

"It appears this material was only viewed by some Comcast customers," local Tucson television station KVOA-TV said in a written statement.

Television station KVOA added "when the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material," KVOA President and General Manager Gary Nielsen said in a separate statement.

Still salty about Carolina no-showing the divisional roung game? I don't quite blame you.

Meh... I'm not really a Carolina fan. I mean, yeah, I'll jump on the bandwagon because I live here and yes it sucked that they effed it up, but whatever.

I actually watched the game until that one guy ran the 100 yard touchdown, then turned it off. Something told me then that my pick wouldn't win, and they didn't. I'm actually not into pro sports at all, but I do think the Cardinals deserved it a lot more than the Steelers.

I give it to both teams 'cause they fought hard until the end. However (just like SB XL), I feel the refs should receive rings as well, since there were a lot of calls for Pittsburgh and against Arizona... including at the end of the game.

You're right, that 100-yd runback by James Harrison was great. A friend of mine was saying that he shoulda won MVP for that. :smilewide:

I've heard several people say that. Kinda surprised they didn't do a co-MVP, but whatever. Still a good game. I did hear about the porn in AZ ... wonder if people thought it was a commercial ... lol.

I'm glad the Steelers won, especially since that means my Dad, a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers-Pirates-Penguins fan (since he grew up in the Johnstown/Holsopple PA area), is thrilled.

I would've been just as happy if the Tennessee Titans won the Super Bowl. BUT ... I would've been the most happy if the Chicago Bears would've won the Super Bowl; they last won at the end of the 1985 season, beating New England in the 1986 Super Bowl ... New England, of course, losing last year to New York ... after going undefeated the entire season....

STEELERS .... 27

CARDINALS ... 23

PITTSBURGH

... longest play in SB history, 100 yard interception return for a TOUCHDOWN at end of first half

... MOST Super Bowl wins (6)

... 2nd most Super Bowl appearances (7) ... Dallas Cowboys have 5 Super Bowl wins in 8 appearances

... Mike Tomlin ... youngest coach in the Super Bowl; youngest coach to win the SB

ARIZONA

... Took a 23-20 lead with 2:37 left in the 4th quarter, after starting the quarter down 20-7.

... Kurt Warner almost got a repeat of the 1999 Super Bowl. At the time, Warner was with the St Louis Rams ... which stopped the (my) Tennessee Titans' winning drive late in the 4th quarter to win the Super Bowl for Warner and coach Dick V.
